Hi bros,

Would like to ask a few questions :
1. I already have Unifi installed (not full fibre since my condo not support that, and no turbo upgrade too), can i install Time fibre at the same time? Will it cause any conflict / trouble?

2. My condo has Time fibre's structure ready, may i know how long it would take to install the service?

3. My friend staying at Cheras, many condos there seem no Time fibre service, possible that he contacts anyone here to check if Time able to provide service to his condo?

Thanks.

Thanks all.

First of all, i would like to Thanks @yeapch01 for his great support. Highly recommended smile.gif

I applied Time Fibre around 1month+ ago. Few issues i experienced :
1. After the line was installed, it worked for the first day, then totally no more connection after that for the upcoming few days until i called them and they sent the same technician over to fix the issue.

2. The day after they installed the Time's line, my Unifi started acting weirdly. I had to call Unifi technician to come over to have a look. Found out (high chance) Unifi's issue was caused by the Time's technician when the Time technician installing the line (the Unifi wires in the hub / switch, part of the wires messed up, causing my Unifi line to have weaker signal, this made it dced in game very often and the speed has down from 50megs to be 12-14megs, which i never encountered such issue with Unifi for so many years)

3. The download speed and upload speed aren't max. 500megs line but i have only max 420+- download and 490+ upload (using LAN cable, tested a few days, every time has similar result, download speed never go over 440+ and upload speed always around 490+). I have been using Unifi for many years in difference locations / houses, always able to get full speed when doing speed testing, so a bit disappointed on Time for this part sad.gif

4. Upgraded to 1gig line last month, website showing upgraded successfully and showing i am using 1gig package now, but the speed has no changes, still download 420+- and upload 490+-. I contacted Time support, they said will send someone to call me to check, almost 3 weeks passed but i never received any call from their technician and no update via sms or email.

5. Yesterday when i reached home, found out Time's line is dead, LOS button is red. Until this morning it is still not usable. (atm talking with the support now, asking me to turn off / unplug replug, restart, which i had done a few times yesterday)

I will continue to use Unifi (just as a backup in case Time is down, i will monitor Time's performance for 2 years before i decide to cut Unifi) and will continue to support Time, but i hope Time can improve their services and expanding their coverage to more area (which my friend needed it badly, he stuck at Unifi 30megs package)

why need to maintain 2 line? u must be rich  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

just wondering are u on landed or high-rise?
*
Not rich. I maintain 2 lines because of 3 main reasons :
1. I am worried TIME line might have probs, so i am monitoring it before i make any decision to Unifi.
2. My condo here, Unifi max speed is 50megs only sad.gif
3. I play fighting game almost daily, when i use the line, i don't allow others to use it, so i applied one more line just for me to play fighting games + other things. As for Unifi, i let others use it. Less troubles this way biggrin.gif

I am on high rise.

Thanks jjj2 for suggesting & submitting my building to TIME even though its considered "orang miskin low-end flat" by TM. Replies by TM in multiple MCMC complaints I made are -> TM have no infrastructure upgrade plan in the near future for my building because according to TM's survey there is no demand. Yea? Screw you too TM.

WOW! This is cool.

Hi @jjj2 Would it be possible for you to suggest to bring Time Fibre to my friend's condo at Sungai Long? Besides his condo, that area has many other condos too. If possible i will get more info from him.

Sg Long is weird. I think not one of the condos here have TIME.

At one time I have a unit at Green Acre with LOS to my house. Plan was to subscribe to TIME and pipe it to my house and dump Unifi. That was a few years ago before Turbo upgrade.
*
Hmmm, this is strange, hope Time will consider bringing their services to this area.

-------

My internet is back to normal after Time sent in technician to fix it today. Thanks.

P/S also confirmed it is upgraded to 1gig package now.

I love TIME so far altho i had some issues here and there (not related to speed). Currently i have another issue, it is actually started since a few weeks ago, the WIFI is dead, it is not showing on the WIFI selection list.

I didn't care about it since i applied TIME mainly using it for fighting games by connecting to LAN. But now i want to fix it, before i call TIME technician to come (which is troublesome since i need to take a day's leave), i would like to check if anyone had this issue before and if this issue can be fixed without TIME's technician? Thanks!

Hi, May I know which router are you using currently ?

Are you able to detect Wifi SSID by the name of "TIME Blazing Speed xxxx"  ?

Thanks.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. I am using the original TIME router. Nope, can't see the "TIME Blazing Speed xxxx".

This Friday i will be free, so i will try to contact the technician to come to my house to fix it. Thanks.

I live in a condo supporting TIME, now stuck using UniFi 50Mbps VDSL connection from few years back paying RM180+. I can't upgrade or downgrade because now UniFi all using fibre, so I'm paying more for lower speed and no option to change unless I go fibre.

You can downgrade it, i just did it not long ago. You should choose the RM 89 package that offers unlimited bandwidth (30Mbps). You can't choose the rm129 or 139 (i forgot) package due to it is for full fibre only.

P/S i used to have Unifi 50megs package too (upgraded to 50megs with the Thank You promotion), and was paying rm 180+ per month.

If you are using TP-Link Archer C1200,
You can login to your Router using the default 192.168.0.1 , User: admin, Paswd: TIMExxxx , turn to the back of the router to get this.

After login, click on Wireless on the left, and reconfigure your Wireless SSID & Key, Click Save (click 2-3 times).

Thanks.

Noted. I will try this after work. Thanks a lot! thumbsup.gif

Hi guys,

When you guys upgraded to higher package, did you guys receive newer router?

I upgraded from 500megs to 1gig package, but the technician didn't give me newer router. Now i think it is a bit strange, because when i had the 500megs package, they gave me a router that can support up to 800+megs, now i upgraded to 1gig, i still using the same router that only support up to 800+megs. (The technician did a testing with LAN cable, the result was 600+megs downspeed. I tried the speed test using my hp, max i can get is 500down and 500up speed)

Btw, i would like to recommend anyone on the fence, don't worry to get Time fibre, it is pretty good. I have both Time and Unifi installed at the moment, i can tell you Time is pretty stable and good for gaming, i never encounter any speed / ping issue when playing online game so far (mainly fighting games i play).

Checked with Time support. They said i upgraded to higher package before i used the older package for at least 12 months, so they don't upgrade my router. Looks like they don't encourage people to upgrade unless you have used the current package for at least 12 months.

They told me the same thing.
But my case a bit different as I applied for 100 then 2-3 days later changed to 1G but the installers came and installed 100M. Eventually I got the DIR-882.

Thanks for the info bro. I am very disappointed on this part, but looks like nothing i can do now. I just bought a Huawei P30 Pro hp and did many times speed test, the results were very similar, 500+-m upload and 500+-m download, i am not sure if it is the router issue or my phone can't support higher bandwidth. When the technician came to my house to fix something, i borrowed his laptop to do speed testing with cable, max was 600m+ download, and he said this is normal and said my router max can support 800m+ (P/S Time support said my EC230 support up to 1G with cable. I have a cat6 cable). I am wondering which part went wrong, guess i have to buy a new router myself to find out more info.

Yes you are right.
The free router option for any plan upgrade is only available to subscriptions of at least 12 months.
Thanks.

I just wished they would be kind enough to give me a new router, cos i upgraded to new package after around 2weeks+- after the installation. But after talking to their support, looks like they won't be so kind. I didn't expect they wouldn't give me a router that can support 1gig wifi when i applied for a 1 gig upgrade.

Let's say if i get one of these routers, what is the procedure to install this router? (I am using router not provided by Unifi, but i have totally forgotten what i did to install the router). Do i need to call Time to inform them before doing the changing? Or inform them after i have done connecting cables/wires to the new router?

I upgraded or rather changed my application from 100 to 1000, 3 days after the initial application. However, somehow, it wasn't updated in their system so they installed 100Mbps. Contacted CS and they asked me to upgrade to 1G via the website but they said the same thing, no new router since not yet 1 year. Escalated the case and eventually TIME exchanged the EC230 for the DIR-882.
*
Thanks bro, let me try to contact Time support regarding this. I feel like i really should be given a better router since i upgraded in 1-2 weeks.

How did you escalated it bro? I contacted support again, but they said they can't escalate for this issue. Do they have management email address that i can send an email to?

1. Is 1g the max package Time can provide?
2. My contact will be ended on September (complicated situation, my package is 1g, but i am using the router came with 500megs, my max speed is 700+megs only), i would like to know if i decide to continue using Time fibre and prolong the contract, would them give me a better router that is suitable for my 1G line?

1. Yes
2. Check in the selfcare portal whether recontract will give free router. You will be tied to contract for another 2 years if you plan to recontract.
