TIME speed is bullshit.

The speed is so inconsistent and keep disconnecting. First few times you do speedtest, u will get the max speed. After that drop to half your subscribed speed.

And it will keep disconnecting every 1 hour or so. Need to restart modem and router. And dont bother calling their CS, all BS scripted response. You want them come your house to check? They will charge you.

Unifi is so so much better. So much more stable! Will change to Unifi after contract end
*
Charges will only be applied if found that the problem is caused by mishandling by customers.
Which router are you on ?

Thanks.

TPLink AC1350. Its a pretty new router. Last time they upgraded
*
Hi, after you have login to the router admin panel, please screenshot your firmware version located at the bottom.

Lately there has been some report on intermittent disconnection on this router, but rarely.

The time guy came and updated to latest firmware yesterday. But it is still disconnecting randomly. Then i will need to restart modem and router each time.

Nvr had this issue with Unifi last time.
*
Hi, when your discover disconnection, please immediately snap a photo on both the ONU & Router, we want to see the indicators.

While waiting for it to happen again, please also lodge a report to CS.

Thanks.

Would it be possible to run a very very low traffic server on Time Home Fibre? I guess I would need to be assigned a static IP address - how much for that?
*
Hi, sorry, Time Home Fibre does not come with option of fixed IP.

Correction. Is not direct from TIME router.

TIME Router --> 20 meter LAN --> Switch --> Lan Cable --> Router/ Repeater (put inside guard house)

My company IT said may not be feasible

If feasible, can use this router?

*
Yes its feasible. But why would you putting a Switch in between ?

Sorry noob here. ONU is the modem ?

Yes it's the Fibre Modem.

Is it common that the router need to re-start (off then on again) overnight as internet connection lost?
*
No need to do that.

P/S : Out of our curiosity, how is that possible that you are not being advised on the above matter prior to signing up ?

Thanks. Actually not big 1,050sqft.

I just want optimum speed. If I were to subscribe to 500Mbps. What router would provide the best results. Around RM600?
*
Hi, for 1050sq ft, if you manage to place the TP-Link EC230 somewhere in the middle of your unit, then it should do fine.
If you wanna upgrade still, go for AX routers, such as Asus AX56U / AX3000 (add RM100).

Thanks.

Switch is for CCTV. Installed by Vendor.
*
I see, I guess that's POE switch, also you may need to check whether the CCTV is running at the same subnet as the TIME Router.
Bro, you can email me more details, if you have full access, I show you how to configure.

Thanks.

1600 sqft condo aiming to get 100mbps plan. Any recommendations on whether or not I should upgrade router for better coverage?
*
Hi,

2 things you may need to consider :

1) Enjoy 500Mbps @ RM99/month now for first 3 months.
2) Upgrade the Router, as stock router won't be able to cover your condo efficiently...

Thanks.

can it be done without sign up self care? because this company account, i just responsible to manage and pay the bill, i just want the statement deliver to registered company email like how Digi, UniFi practice without have to sign up whatever account biggrin.gif
*
Selfcare Care is meant for you to easily manage your account, you can download your bills there in case you miss it via your email.
That is not really a "sign-up" process, it's just basically a process for you to create your own credentials to login.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. Got the TP-Link C80 and works like a charm now with much better coverage overall.

Just thinking if I can use my old EC230 as a secondary access point placed in master room. Is that doable ?
*
QUOTE(FusionXY @ Jul 1 2020, 07:08 PM)
You're welcome bro.  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif
Is your Master Room able to get the speed? Coverage better than the stock router from TIME?
Able to cover your whole house?
Would like to know more on this router. Is it good?

You can check whether EC230 supports wireless repeater.
I can't check so I didn't have this router.

Thanks.
*
Yes, it supports.

Thanks for the replies. Guess I mixed up the terminology.

What I meant is a WiFi extender to extend the coverage at master room using my stock Time router without any wired LAN connection with the main router at living room

Is it possible without LAN cable?
*
Yes it is possible if you don't mind with some drawbacks like obvious speed drop.

The most cost effective way is to get a Wireless Extender within your budget.

Thanks.

Just wanna ask, if TM already build their fibre infrastructure for my apartment building, does that mean Time wont come already? Previously, Time contacted my building management about setting up their fibre infrastructure and wanted to come this week. But TM responded first by coming to fix their fibre cable str8 last Monday and already set up booth summore. Now Time no response sad.gif
*
Hi, not necessarily like that, we have other projects running both providers.
