Good morning. No issue on cloudflare for me, on IPV4 only though.

Time is finally available at my condo, but lets say I move out to a place with no TIME fiber while still within the contract period, how much would the termination fees be? Will there be termination fees although the new location has no time fiber? Is there a difference between 12 months and 24 months contract? Can't seem to find the information in their TOS.

I guess here is the answer where that dynamic VLAN came from. The dynamic VLAN is named IP VLAN, which shown in the VLAN list type as dynamic.

Most of the time VLAN ID tagged in Ethernet Frames are just ignored (but not stripped) by non-VLAN capable devices. If the device is set to allow frames with tagged VLANs (i.e. trunk ports), it will pass the Ethernet frames with allowed tagged VLAN IDs. Since there is no trunk port setting in the TP-Link router, i guess the former is true.

My switch default VLAN ID is 1 (if primary VLAN  in your feedback mean the default VLAN ID), like most switches that support dot1q standard. The switch does support static VLANs (as in my setup) and dynamic VLAN via RADIUS authentication (which is none for current set up).

I will do my own packet sniffing soon to investigate. It is already off day though.

Hi Bro, use your PC/laptop connect to LAN1 of the ONU, dial PPPOE, and run Wireshark, monitor on ethernet port, see if the Vlan ID you got is the same as the one shown in switch.

Vlan ID may not be seen as Vlan id= xxx/xxxx , but you can see the TCP ACK handshake, there will be a fixed number which keeps on repeating.

Thanks.

Are they ok?
And reliability of their signal?

We have been using it near to 9 years, So far pretty reliable, though not perfect...despite some hiccups, it's still the best amongst all .

Let us assist you to get it up running.

Hi, is it advisable to change the primary DNS setting on the TIME router and how? Thanks.
*
If you are facing issue accessing some sites or slowness, then you may consider changing it, if not remain as it is, it's fine too.

Just click on Advanced tab on top, go to left pane, click Network > Internet > click the Advanced arrow pointing downwards, look for DNS Address, and change it to "Use the following DNS Address" , insert your preferred DNS.

Thanks.

Hi Guys, I just upgrade my line to 1Gbps, and using their DIR-882,

I know its a custom firmware, so it will look very different from the usual firmware

My question is, how do I do port forwarding and also how can I create a guest Wifi network

Thanks

Hi,

If you are going to set it as an Access Point , yes it can be done easily.
But if you want to set it to become Wireless Repeater (Bridging), it's Not possble with the Stock firmware.

Thanks.

Hi, please head forward to Firewall > Virtual Servers.

For Guest Wifi, try to look under WiFi > Client Management / Client.... will confirm tomorrow.
Thanks.

I have just cancelled Astro IPTV which is running on Time broadband. The termination will be completed by end of this month. How soon in advance should I subscribe to Time broadband in order to minimize my internet downtime? I would prefer to switch over on the day Astro terminates. Possible?

Did the PPPoE dial from my laptop which connected directly to the ONU LAN1 port. I saw some TCP acks with seq id 4093, which is the same dynamic VLAN ID, reported earlier.

After that, I added a static VLAN with ID 4093 in the switch. Once the switch port is physically connected to one of the AP LAN port, a dynamic VLAN will appear - in this case the new ID is 4092, since 4093 exists in the static VLAN list. This occurs when Time Internet (PPPoE) connection is established successfully.

I have contacted TIME for support regarding this issue. The PPPoE authentication via their RADIUS server assigns the port with dynamic VLAN. This is as explained by TIME support.

I received suggestion from to change the package to a fixed IP package - not sure how this solve the issue? since it still going to use PPPoE and RADIUS authentication with fixed IP, as the only difference.

This issue does not happens with TM Unifi though. I have configured the same HPE switch with TM Unifi lines before. Of course with TM supplied ONU and Wifi AP (both same model as TIME - with different firmware I assume?).

Is TIME blocking port 80 inbound connections? I need to update my letsencrypt SSL certificate. I can't access my webserver's port 80 from outside.

Yes, the PPPOE dialling is performed by your laptop.

Good findings Bro, the dynamic VLAN is assigned by the PPPOE Server (BRAs),in my case I can see it's probably a Juniper MX.

I don't think by getting a fixed IP will resolve that as TIME BB is still rely on PPPOE session dialling.. unless you go for Leased Line services.

You mean all your switch ports automatically changed its Vlan id to 4093 by itself after you hook up to TIME Archer C1200 ?
Try also use port 1 or 2 on the TP-Link Archer C1200.

Thanks.

Nope, try configuring Port Forwarding via NAT Forwarding > Virtual Servers.

Thanks.
