Hope can recommend me a Router, with these requirements:-
- Budget around RM500
- Can support at least 100Mbps Internet (Time Fibre)
- Stable (reliable) & Coverage is more important than Speed
- Wireless Range able cover whole Apartment Unit
- Like to stream movie from Overseas.
- No need transfer Files wirelessly between PC
- Do not need Gigabit Port
- No need QoS
- Can share with friend if they have older phone in wireless G.

Pls advise. Thanks.

Hi, we are TIME Authorised Distributor & Service Installer.

Add another RM50 from your budget of RM500 to go for the subsidized price of D-link DIR882 (must purchase from selfcare.time.com.my).

So far we have not encountered any major bugs yet apart from the confusing DNS settings which may confused some beginners users.

Thanks.

Tenda AC6 doesn't have Gigabit Port.
The LAN/WAN Port limit up to 100Mbps only.
I suggest you to get another router if the stock router didn't serve you well.

Thanks.

Hi, i'm having issues with my billing. My TIME acc got cut because I did'nt pay then I pay through CIMB Clicks, then I call TIME CS but TIME CS say they can't reconnect my internet because they can't verify the payment. And to verify the payment, I need to wait until office hour (I pay the overdues amount on Friday night so I need to wait for next Monday) only they will reconnect my internet.

Before this, TIME CS can reconnect the internet even on 4am. But starting November they can't they said. And they said to reconnect automatically I need to pay using the quicktime method where they send SMS when they cut my lines. But I didn't know that, only after I pay through CIMB Clicks and I called TIME CS I know they change the system.

So, I can't use my internet for about 3 days but I still need to pay the same amount. I called TIME CS for rebate but they didn't want to give rebate for the amount of time I can't use my internet.

My own experience with TIME has been that they just don't suspend your connection if it's a once-off. I know of people who lapsed for a month or so because they were overseas for work, but paid promptly once they got back. All that time, their connection was left intact.

For them to cut you off, I assume you have either have a backlog of a couple of months worth of payment and ignored their email(s) about making payment, or you have had repeated episodes of not paying your subscription.

If that's the case, you can't expect them to respond to you in a timely manner, let alone entertain your request for a rebate. Just be glad there wasn't a penalty fee involved.

At the end of the day, it's just 3 days. If it's unbearable enough that you can't put up with a weekend without broadband, remember to pay your bill next time. Set up a direct debit if you tend to forget.

If after everything, you still feel angry enough about it, hit them financially and unsubscribe. Maybe they'll learn their lesson! rolleyes.gif

Oh OK. Should be fine if near the router.

I don't have 5GHz phone to test but I'm using Archer C9.
Another member here using AC1900 router and adapter able to achieve full speed near the router.

Thanks

Thanks. It's hard to choose between Tenda AC18 or TP Link Archer C9. Don't know which 1 perform better in overall (wide coverage, stable connection and faster speed). Anyone here tested these 2, mind to share how's the performance and max speed on both ?

Get the C2300, it is miles ahead of both and being relatively inexpensive.

Both the Tenda AC18 and TP-Link C9 have really old chipset.

So I'm looking to maybe move. One thing I am looking at is Time available places. What if the building has business broadband coverage? Will I be able to get my home fiber in such a place?

Hi

If there is a known problem with the DIR850 why can't TIME update the firmware via remote online?

alternatively, how do we do it ourselves?

Yes you can, if it really cant go through, you can always file a requet via the CS by calling 1800 18 1818.

If you know well in firmware updating, no problem you could do it yourself.

Thanks.
