Damansara perdana people, does yr TIME experience disconnect? It wont disconnect when  i am using it but when i am not, it disconnects, everything is green lighted but my pc just show the connection disconnected.

need off and on the router for it to function again. Wondering if it is the construction that is happening for DASH or not

May I know which router that you're currently using?

QUOTE(tritonite @ Nov 12 2018, 10:51 PM)
Happening here in Bandar Utama as well. Only started after it got auto-upgraded to 500Mbps.

Thought it was a problem with the old DIR-850L router, especially since I haven't been able to get anywhere near 500Mbps DL, even on LAN. Mostly getting around 120-130Mbps.

If the new Archer router arriving soon doesn't solve the problem, I may have to take it up with TIME CS when I stop travelling for work, and can be home for them to send their technician over.

Hi, you're using the old D-Link DIR-850L router?
This D-Link Cylinder type have a lot of issues like need to restart only can work.
LAN connection not getting full 500Mbps?
Try perform direct connection to ONU.

You bought the new Archer C6?

Thanks

Yes, I heard the DIR-850L been reported as having lots of problems for people, but as mentioned, I haven't had any problems until the upgrade. I think it even held a connection for almost 3 months once, maintaining the same IP address, and only got rebooted because I changed the cabinet top it was sitting on.

Yes, I bought the Archer C6 for RM199 as part of the Lazada 11.11 Sale. Just waiting for it to arrive.

D-Link DIR-850L before that has vulnerable issues.
After upgrade only having this problem means that the router cannot cooperate with 500Mbps.
Since this is suitable for 300Mbps and below.

A lot of forumers here complained about the D-Link DIR-850L.
The TP-Link C1200 is more stable than DIR-850L.

C1200 over 5GHz Wi-Fi can get up to 300Mbps while DIR-850L cannot achieve the same scenario as C1200.
Archer C6 is the latest product which will be more better than C1200.

Thanks.

Great to hear that you bought the latest product.
Do test it out. I hope is better than the stock C1200 which TIME gives.

Thanks.

Honestly, I only bought the C6 instead of the C7, because of the review on blacktubi's site and his recommendation here.

It's much cheaper, and I will be pleased if it works well enough for a wired LAN connection.

Also hope it's easy to set up for TIME Broadband, as I've not done a router change before. Just have the PPPoE username and password. Anything extra to set up and I'll have to muddle through.

Oh OK. As what I ask the TP-Link, they said C6 have better wireless chip and coverage than C1200.
You're on 500Mbps plan right?

It is easy to setup for TIME. Just key in PPPOE details and you are good to go.
Extra things which is optional like changing the DNS to Google.
And IPv6.

I set DNS both IPv4 and IPv6 to Google DNS.

Thanks.

Hi, if you feel the router is making you worse then change it.

Suggest you to get Archer C6.
Don't get C1200 which is not really stable.

Thanks.

Hi, wait for bro tritonite to test out the router.
BTW, I'm using 3rd-party router which is Archer C9.
Before that is the cacat Wireless N ZTE Router.
I'm on 500Mbps line.

I heard somewhere that I need to find the 'NAT Boost' setting somewhere and make sure it's enabled for maximise the wifi and LAN speeds.

Does this still apply the latest TP-Link routers?

Yes, mine is enabled itself.

Most TP-Link Routers have this feature that must be enabled.
Other brand different name. As SilentVampire mentioned that NAT Boost must be enabled.
Mostly all enabled by default. Enable it manually if it is not enabled.

Thanks.

I trashed that DIR850 after about 2 weeks. Was horrible (Damansara Perdana). Changed it to the Asus1200G+ which is...stable, even after the upgrade. I schedule a weekly reboot at 2 am which the router has been doing and my only complaint is the AC coverage peters out in the bedrooms. But I'll be picking up the AiMesh pack and that should iron out the issues.

Is anyone know TIME business internet will roll out higher speed package soon? I've sent Time a query about the Free upgrade for business users, and they said free upgrade is only apply to residential users only. doh.gif

In the other hand, TM have starting to roll-out the Turbo speed free upgrade to business users.

You can try to ask the Installer to change for you, anyhow it wil be up to them whether they want to do it, as this is not theor scope.
But no worries, you can buzz me by whatsapp/email, we will assist you to set it up.
Thanks.

Just saw this thread.

Signed up on Time's website earlier this evening. Installation is next week on 21/11. Anyway to push it earlier?

Thanks for the input.
