I'm in Parkview Towers.
I didn't make any report yet to customer service, as the problem goes on and off, and also observed only at 7pm-9pm.
Problem is not everyday it is is happening.

Hi, I suggest you to lodge a report, so that the SI could attend to your case.
Have a check on the fibre reading, fluctuation may cause problem especially your reading at boundary level.

Sorry was not home the past few days.
DNS proxy for me and only can bypass by using DoH via pihole.
Maybe in this case when using Huawei router causing the DNS proxy but can't change now cos I using the mesh by Huawei.

Just FYI if others is checking.

Hi, Yes you are right, if you are using the latest Huawei HG8145V5, then it's using TIME DNS by default.

Thanks.

does having old OS will have impact on it? Example XP

Hi, having old OS wont pretty much affect your speed, but the hardware specs will.

Thanks.

My PC is almost 5 Year and i'm not a gamer.
May i know what impact you are referring to ?

intel® core™ i5-2310 cpu @ 2.90ghz
NVidia Geforce GT520
3.49 GB RAM
*
I'm referring to speed., but your PC specs run fine. Just make sure your NIC is updated to latest driver.
Moreover, try not to run any Internet Security/Antivirus or heavy resources services at backend.

Thanks.

jjj2, you are not fully understanding the situation.

My PC is set DNS manually to google DNS in windows. 8.8.8.8
However, it still links back to Time DNS. That's what it means by DNS proxy.

This means when I set my DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1, and try to go to MCMC blocked websites, it will still be blocked as it is linked to TIME DNS.

It seems like it's an issue with Huawei ONT / routers. Maybe others can check too.
Somewhere along the line connecting there's some interception by Time.
*
Hi, I fully understand what you meant. And we have tested on our side using the HG8245H5 in bridge mode. Anyway we will have to test again on your equipment that you mentioned again at other sites.

Please kindly provide the details below :

1) ONU/ONT Model : HG8145V5 (I guess you are using this)
2) Router Model & its corresponding DNS setup

One more test you can do is via a connected VPN, and once you are connected, run the leak test again, if you notice any TIME's DNS (usually 203.121.x.x) in between, then it confirms the leak.
As I mentioned, we still believe the new ONT which connects you via IPOE & having default primary TIME DNS configured is causing this. Anyway, let's wait for our test result.
Thanks.

Update :

Tested again with HG8145V5 with DNS altered to public DNS, no proxied or 'leak' detected.
We can conclude that it's the ONT or either your computer OS is giving the issue.

Thanks.

Hi, sorry if this has been asked many times before... I'm using DIR-882 router with the default firmware that comes with TIME broadband, have added some ports for forwarding under 'Virtual Servers' like below;

user posted image

But when I test for open port in https://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ using my public IP, it still says the ports are closed. I even tried enabling DMZ and same thing. Appreciate if someone could tell me what I got wrong  notworthy.gif
*
Hi, can you try to put in your Remote IP instead, if you have a range, then use the entire 24 subnet.
Another thing is I'm not sure whether you need NAT loopback, if you want your devices be able to communicate with each other outside the Gateway(router) then you can tick this.

Thanks.

I only receive statement/invoice from Time at the begining of the month, but after payment they never send me a receipt. I need receipt issued by Time with my full name on it so I can claim internet fee from my company.

How/ where can find my receipts after payment?
Thru self-care? If yes then where cause I cant find it ....
Or need to contact CS for it?
*
Hi, if you make your payment online via quickpay.time.com.my, there is a payment receipt at the end of the payment process.
Alternatively, you can request a full year payment summary from CS.

Thanks.

hi, so as for now my speed for now is 500mbps but it is not fully utilized in our rent house with my friends. So since our contract already expired, can we downgrade to 100mpbs wihout penalty? is the process fast or how?

*
Hi, yes you can downgrade without any penalty. Moreover, as long as you don't claim any Free Router upgrade, there is no contract renewal/reset.

Thanks.

Hi, are you facing disconnection between your devices to the router or you noticed Internet connection drop from the router to the Internet (you can see Internet indicator on the Router).

Since you have upgraded the firmware, do a hard reset and later reconfigure back the PPPOE credentials & WiFi settings (before you perform hard reset, get ready for the PPPOE username & password).

Thanks.

Is it worth to upgrade to 1gbps if they offer the tp link hc 420 and the ec 440? Im using 500mbps on deco m5
*
Hi, based on site tests, generally HC420 & EC440 will give you slightly better signal strength compared to Deco M5...but Deco series will have more rooms of expanding...this is good when you have large unit.

Anyhow, you should look more on other factors whether to upgrade rather than only the equipments.

Feel free to contact me directly should you need more advise.

Thanks.

is it possible if i want to get the download speed to 500mpbs or i need to better router? My pc connected to the wifi using Wifi 5ghz
*
Hi, first thing please have a check on the bandwidth received via cable connection, PC direct to Dlink router.
Try test on few speed test servers.

Do remember to turn off all heavy running background services as well as any Internet Security software, before performing the test.

Thanks.

Very satisfied about the performance , tested with Ethernet Cable
Almost full speed

With my own Tenda Router via 5GHz

Just one question , can i change the DNS of the given Huawei HG8145V5 ONT? It seems to be hardcoded to TIME DNS server and intercepting the DNS request via UDP 53 from any DNS server (etc Google & Cloudflare , both replied a TM IP and apparently its MCMC IP)

Yes, it can be changed, please kindly contact CS to do so.

Recently switched to time, everything good except the huawei HG8145V5 modem router, very unstable for me.
I changed the wifi channel to 1/6/11 and it will always auto reset by itself to auto channel after a couple hours.
I have to keep login to change the wifi channel settings every time and sometimes it won't even allow to login.
It also auto create a new 5ghz ssid with same name as my 2.4ghz ssid. This immediately interrupt my existing 5ghz ssid connections
and i have to login to remove this auto created 5ghz ssid. It's really a pain in the ass.

Is there a firmware update for this router?
*
Hi, so far it's running at the latest firmware.

If both 2.4GHz & 5GHz wifi SSID are set the same, the band steering will be enabled & vice versa.
You may disable the band steering if you need to manually switch between the 2 band.

Thanks.

seems like when using cable connection i can get the 500mbps download speed but when using wifi 5ghz just around 200+mbps. Tested using laptop too still get 200+mbps for download speed. any idea?
*
Your incoming bandwidth is sufficient, the Dlink router has a limitation on wifi, so far we tested even on 5GHz, it's giving around 2xxMbps as well...
You may opt for a better router.

Thanks.

Could this be a faulty router?
*
Hi, probably, advise to file a report to CS & SI will attend to check on-site ya.

Hi guys, i am helping a friend to configure his home network.
From my understanding from reading quite a few pages of this thread we will need to call TIME to change the HG8145V5 to bridgemode so that we can use our TP-Link AX73 to control everything including pppoe dialing.

Generally how long does it take when calling CS to change to bridge mode and how is it done?
Do they need my friend to have a computer connected to the router and they remote to the computer to change the settings?
Or do they send a technician over to set?
Or they just do it through their back end with their tool or what not?

Also is it only during business hour 9am-6pm?
It is a new house and they haven't moved in yet so if my friend needs to be there for this to be done then need to arrange to go over.

Hi, here are answers to your questions.

Depends on cases, they could do it remotely. If not, they will send a tech over to do it.

Also is it only during business hour 9am-6pm?
Yes, usually 10am -- 5pm, if really need to attend on-site.

Thanks.

i was told by the CS that there will be a red card charges of RM80/hr. I would like to make the TIME modem as modem mode, and use my external router to make the PPPOE connection over the modem. in order to save up the fee, should i get a new modem outside?
*
Yes, for alteration after the Installation there will be a charge. I'm sorry you can't get a new modem (ONT) outside to work with TIME.

Thanks.
