QUOTE(Chrono-Trigger @ Apr 11 2025, 08:32 AM) Any idea umobile 5G modem will work on other umobile prepaid plan or is it locked to postpaid broadband ? U mobile don't allow normal phone plan using in anything other than phone. You are allowed to hotspot the data on your phone but cannot use directly in any 5G router. Maybe the tower very far and your area not that developed beforehand and now the line of sight to the tower has been blocked by newly built building. Just like my house use to be have signal but once my housing area get very developed, now total out of signal but have VoWiFi and 5G, so not a huge problem for me. I'm paying RM28 for total unlimited today still no 4G umobile coverage (according to their map) at my home since the damage of their device (my guest) and they never repair/replace it. just like yes prepaid that keep on losing 4G coverage many years ago and never repair them QUOTE(YoungMan @ Apr 14 2025, 05:05 PM) Those 2 telcos can survive because of DNB's 5G. It has been a huge improvement for the last few years, last time even Miri also not fully covered by 4G |

I still have 1.5 year of contract, would be a shit show if they dont fix it...
This isn't the first time experienced such issue of course, it happened a couple of times before (when I wasn't using the contract plan), usually lasted a week or two. I can only pray that this time also don't broke for too long... Otherwise I might need to move house, can't work like this. QUOTE(poh880 @ Apr 16 2025, 02:43 PM) Depends on where you are. QUOTE(xonedl @ Apr 19 2025, 07:35 AM) is that something possible to do on the umobile router? I only see 45/5g switches, not band selection. .AI Overview Band Lock Settings for 4G routers To lock a 4G band on your router, you typically need to access the router's web interface (often through a web browser) and navigate to the network or internet settings. Then, you'll need to change the "Band Selection" setting from "Auto" to "Manual" and choose the specific 4G band you want to use. After selecting the band, you'll need to save the changes and wait for the router to reconnect. . |

Well, no surprise there they just close the case without actual solution.
Still stuck in bad reception and low speed. dunno what to do, as there still 1.5 year of contract to go. (Uhome 5g 68 with router) if this don't recover by next month I suppose if anyone want I can just give the set to you... I don't want to pay for stuff that I can't use I see many other prepaid plan by other telco actually starts offering multiple hundred GBs now, that actually will be suffice. QUOTE(xonedl @ Apr 24 2025, 05:58 PM) Well, no surprise there they just close the case without actual solution. Your final option is to file a report with MCMC, requesting either the termination of your contract due to poor reception or a resolution to the reception issue. If MCMC closes your report without addressing the problem, reopen the report for further action.Still stuck in bad reception and low speed. dunno what to do, as there still 1.5 year of contract to go.
