2K is pretty bad if she's going to get one for her own personal laptop. I am not sure which sort of company doesnt' provide a laptop for graphics design at all
*
She already has a personal Mac, but she prefer an office laptop cause she's doean't want any unnecessary work files stored into her personal Mac. As for her budget, the boss is stingy of spending any money, I tried to insist her to increase the budget for her office laptop. But as of now, 2k is what we're working with. She might increase up to 3 to 4k.

Slightly off-topic , so she buys the laptop and she uses it.

Who owns the intellectual property ? the company or her ? I think you better discuss with her with her amazing company to bring this up. If I were her , I would have just brought my personal computer and kept all the assets , because it's my property

As per norm, usually the management will purchase laptops for staff. The staff will then use the laptop as his/her working laptop. But from what you have said, seems like the boss is willing to invest a total maximum of RM2,000 on this laptop. If this is true, and if that RM2,000 is considered a benefit given to her in terms of allowance, then utilize it and top up some more to get a better laptop, which in the end will be hers.

If the laptop belongs to the company, then ask her boss to get one for her which most willingly fulfill her work conditions. Do not expect bells and whistles.

there is.. but how much you are willing to spend. my friend bought illegear cost him ~rm7k... for pure editing and rendering....
15"
dell xps is the common benchmark for people use.
macbook pro

but given customization for the display and specs, illegear is the best

Do you guys know of an online store or local store that sells the shittiest performing laptops with no OS? (Preferably a visually modern looking one) I'm trying to find one for like ~RM600

I just want to install Chromium OS on it.

For reference I want to buy something like this
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/e-era-ul....16389.126133.0
It doesn't state that it has an OS (nor does it state the CPU) but I'm not sure if I can trust the seller.

Acer Swift 3 SF315-51G-55UH / 56T6 - non-upgradable RAM
Asus Vivobook S530UN +RAM - usually I don't recommend this but I might do a review on it soon - small battery (but can last ~7 hrs unlike Pavilion 15-cs), OK-good build quality, be aware of Asus poor warranty
Acer Aspire 5 A515-52G-547K / 58R8 / 58H9 - flimsy build quality
Acer Aspire 6 A615-51G-53QF +RAM+SSD, 1 yr warranty only, ~6 hrs battery life (2 options above have ~8 hrs)
HP Pavilion 15-CS0033TX / 15-CS1026TX +RAM+SSD - small battery (~4 hrs)

1. Budget : max rm2000
2. Usage : for my sister who just finished spm, basically for normal usage, online streaming, youtubing, office works, not a gamer.
3. Requirements (display size, battery life, weight etc) : 13", <2kg, 4gb ram (upgradeable to 8gb), 500gb i think is sufficient, processor and graphic card doesnt really matter i think..

If lets say i buy the 4gb ram and add another 4gb, will it void warranty?
