I suggest increasing your budget to RM 2000.

At 2000 you can get a Lenovo Ideapad 320S.

Hello peeps, I'm buying a laptop for Graphics Design purposes with light 3D in Sketchup. I already have a desktop, but sometimes need to be mobile for meetings.

1. Preferred Brand : Any brand.

2. Budget : RM2.5k+-

3. Screen size : At least 13"

4. Main preference : SSD and 8GB RAM is a must, looking at good SRGB/NTSC screens for graphics design.

5. Usage : Image editing, design (Adobe software) and light 3D modelling.

Additional note: I've been surveying for few days now, but there are too many models and I'm getting more confused and further from buying anything. Hoping you guys can help me out! Thanks!

Ideapad 330 (15 Intel) vs Thinkpad E585(Amd) which is better? hmm.gif
coz I manage to config the Thinkpad to match as close to Ideapad specs. and I notice is cheaper for thinkpad. heck you can get more ram when you match it price. lol

Obviously, the Thinkpad is the better of the two but neither are great models.

Hi Guys,

Need some laptop advice/recommendation

Budget: ~4k

Preference in descending priority:
1. Lightweight
2. Reliability
3. Athestics

Usage:
1. Browsing/Watching Videos
2. Software development work
3. Light gaming (hearthstone, football manager etc)

Would be willing to stretch the budget abit if something can cover all the above.
Currently looking at Asus Zenbook 13/14 (Is this good?)

Some laptops I've seen but abit out of range:
Dell XPS, Huawei matebook pro

Any input is appreciated.

I highly suggest increasing your budget to RM2000. At that price point, you can consider the Ideapad 320S/330S.

Look for something with a FHD display and an i3 processor.

1. Budget : <4k ish

2. Usage : Dota/Fifa, Web Browsing, Movies, AutoCad

3. Requirements : GTX1050ti, i5/i7, SSD/HDD. 8GB ram should be fine, screen size 15".
(No requirements on battery span and weight)

4. Notes : couldnt decide on Dell G7, Omen 15, Lenovo Y530, help to advice please, or have any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

i can't seem to find latitude configurations and dell online store no price.

i never use Thinkpad before, E490 really that poor? confused.gif

with around my budget, i can set thinkpad to these build:
1) E490-> i7-8565U , Ram 8gb, gpu: AMD RX550 X
2) T480-> i5-8250U , Ram 8gb, gpu: Nvidia MX150

spec wise, E490 seems to achieve higher spec than T480 with around same price.
but is the i7 really give much performance? confused.gif

Unfortunately I can't review it anymore due to some reasons

Don't buy 330s iGPU and 320s i3 due to small battery
