Went to TM, they said my place maximum is 30mbps and offered to lower the price from RM139 to RM119 for current 30mbps. Seen a few flyers offer 100mbps at my place (not yet call to ask & confirm if there is really 100mbps service here) and there is TIME service too here.

Is TM play play here to not offer me turbo or at least RM129 for 100mbps ?

TM can't be bothered to lay fibre in your building. Same circumstance at my friend's place. TM say it is the building management's responsibility to upgrade the infra from copper to fibre.
However, my friend's building already has Time fibre so she'll will switching over to Time soon. She's still on VIP 10 paying 139.
So if you can switch to Time, just do it.

Aiyo, ada TIME then take it. Why bother with UniFi? No need to think of them. Go go go. TIME will compensate you back if you are still under contract.
RM 99 for 100Mbps upload and download. Apa you mau? If you want to continue paying RM 139 then get 500Mbps for TIME. Totally no brainer deal.

ARPU affected ma. Negative perception. And increased competition may lead to compressed margins and profits? Pity our EPF monies, less dividends.

They seem to be getting it from all sides. Ministry, MCMC, stock market, media  and not forgetting the users...

As it is said - the bigger they are, the harder they fall.
*
Well, the only thing they could control was how they treated their customers and they fucked up big time with the turbo upgrade implementation and the new data plans introduction ahead of the completion of turbo upgrades. The lame ass answers and PR mistakes were incredible for such a big company. So yeah, they deserved all the 🔥 they got.

really wish TM offer lower speed package for everyone, not just those condo user.

I think at this era, wired internet should be unlimited data cap. *if not for that data cap, i already sub TM 30mbps.

currency I am on new 100mbps, I also dont know what to do with all these bandwidth haha.
*
Maybe you should unsub and just rely on mobile internet?

Wondering if Maxis Fibrenation that bad until most of the Unifi users here, despite having so many pricing issues, turbo issues, still opted for new RM129 plan instead of going to Maxis Fibrenation (since Maxis Fibrenation uses the same infra so long as Unifi is there).

New sign up will get every damn device in new form, re-contract 24-mth gets nothing. I don't get the logic why staying with Unifi RM129~100Mbbps plan lor, sumore going thru the hassle of "surrendering" ourselves to TM Point for the new plan.... swithc to Maxis Fibrenation also gets new devices.

[not advertisement, dont whack me]
*
You need to ask user feedback from the maxis home fibre page lah.

What do your do with 10 Mbps and how long does it take you to get to 200 GB?
2
10 Mbps can't even watch full HD stuff.
More bandwidth more overhead to do stuff like streaming, download and capacity for many users. How much overhead you need it is willing to pay for is up to you. But I agree, the should be more speed levels and price level although I'm more inclined for higher speed for less money simply because in this era, internet access is a utility just like water and electricity. If you view like that, then the it should be very much cheaper.

I see... but it will be a new contract, tied for 2 years I believe. Not that I might switch to others, just an interesting ploy by TM to dominate the market.  tongue.gif

Futhermore it's cheaper... yeah I think I will do that.

Anything need to upgrade/change? Or just use same hardware?
*
What ploy? They all do it. If you're not moving around a lot or a home owner, 2 years contract is nothing. Not defending them, but contracts are a necessary hazard for telecom services, even that subsidised iPhone comes with a contract, right?

What I meant was that even for a Unifi user for 5 years++, out of contract... still have to tie down again (if want la). But yeah, you're right. I'm not moving or anything... waiting until next year for upgrade is a long wait.
*
Yeah I feel you bro. The wait wouldn't be so bad if they didn't launch the cheaper and faster 100 Mbps package. That was what upset me.

How about change it to basic hypp tv? stupid ruby pack charges me rm30. i never watch it.
*
If you have been turbo-ed for free there is no contract. What are you talking about?
If you switched to the Unifi best 100 Mbps then Ruby hypptv package is included.
So what exactly do you mean con?

Yes, been flaming them on this point, unifi best customer instant activation. Turbo upgrades slow AF.

QUOTE(thankyou @ Oct 23 2018, 11:17 AM)
Gotten my upgrade from 100Mbps -> 800Mbps this morning.

Tried to download Ubuntu Server + Ubuntu Desktop + Fedora Core ISO over LAN and I was able to achieve approx 400Mbps.... Haven't got chance to try to max it because I have to rush to work.

First experience, it wasn't as excited as before for some reason! This is my past Internet upgrade experience

28.8Kbps -> 56Kbps - Amazing, picture loading was much faster back then!
56Kbps -> 384Kbps - One of the best experience ever! Why? 1. Flat monthly fee 24/7 connection + blazing fast MP3 download!
384Kbps -> 512Kbps - Okay, just another speed bump...
512Kbps -> 768Kbps - Just another speed bump...
768Kbps -> 2Mbps - Last streamyx experience, wonderful Music MTV (mpg/mpeg) experience
2Mbps -> 5Mbps - First Unifi experience, one of the best as well due to low ping and speed boost! Worry free during rainy season!
5Mbps -> 20Mbps - Great experience, fast movie download
20Mbps -> 50Mbps - Great as well
50Mbps -> 100Mbps - Nice... However, all the files are ready when I'm back home, not much excitement...
100Mbps -> 800Mbps - Mmm... I don't even know if I ever... Really... Need it or not...

So, to rate it

1) 56Kbps -> 384Kbps - Streamyx Upgrade
2) 2Mbps -> 5Mbps - Unifi Upgrade
3) 28.8Kbps -> 56Kbps  - Modem upgrade, no joke... one of the best!
4) 768Kbps -> 2Mbps - The speed boost is significant enough to feel it.
5) 5Mbps -> 20Mbps - Speed boost
*
How much are you paying? If it is more than 200 and it's not making you money or sharing the fee with anyone else, just switch to a cheaper package.

Order submitted on Friday, still pending. Not yet reach PONR. The fella who called from TM said I should get it by tomorrow, Wednesday and if I don't see any change or speed improvement then I should call 100 to get a technician to come and reset my Huawei BTU or replace it. They asked me if I wanted a new router but I told I already have a better router in the Archer C7 v5.

Went to TM Point during lunch time today to take 100Mbps for RM129 per-month.. it was so crowded and the waiting time up to an hour plus according to stuff, they gave me this form to fill it up and I can submit in my next visit to TM Point, since I don't have time to wait over there.  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

BTW, my package is 30Mbps RYE 2017 for RM139 per-month and entitled for turbo speed upgrade, until now still no news about speed upgrade and my neighbour with 50Mbps already turbo-ed to 500Mbps!  rclxub.gif

This form can be mischievous with them. Tick the highest speed and write rm 99. Lol

Did you end up taking the RM129 for 100mbps? If so can you please check back again with TM if you are actually in contract via live chat? The reason I ask is that I was also out of contract when I did the change to RM129 100mbps package. Was told that I will be in contract etc. but when I ask live chat, they told me I am not in contract, and hence was also why I did not get any new equipment etc. Was told that this is their standard process - no contract renewal for those out of contract.
*
So your question is, are you under a new contract or not after switching?
Since the ship is saying one thing and the live chat is saying another. Then call 100 and check what is your contract status now.

Good morning!
At first the download speed was less than 100 Mbps, but after settling overnight, the download speed has gradually increased to where i expected it to be for 5 GHz. Upload is always 100 Mbps. At first I thought the BTU was locked at fast Ethernet but with speeds spiking above 100, this wasn't the case.
