Thanks for the help in referring people to 1st page
Cheers. You have been a great help
No surprises there. Lots of ppl are realising that their device could not support the turbo speed on wireless, so prefer the 100Mbps, and save money in the process.
Your router is fine. But, it does not have a good enough hardware to fully utilize the 800Mbps i.e. bottlenecked by CPU. Not sure why you want them to change to DIR-842 and pay RM200 in the process. If I were you, I would get my own router based on the 1st page. The DIR-842 won't be able to fully utilize the 800Mbps connection as well.
But, for your current problem of the connection being only 90Mbps, it is probably your BTU that is limiting your speed.
As for the 1st page not suggesting what to do when it all checks out at user end, not sure if you seen this, quoted from first page:
If your device can support gigabit speed, and you are not getting the upgraded turbo speed, there are a few reasons why this happens, see below:
3) Your BTU does not support gigabit speed, or is wrongly configured, and this is limiting your speed. You have to contact TM for replacement, or configuration to gigabit speed. It did say that BTU might not support gigabit speed, and is limiting your speed, which sounds like the issue you are experiencing right now.
That TM only guarantees the stated speed of the package by wired connection and also best effort only, which means as long as the speed achieved most of the time is about 80% or greater of the stated speed iinm, that is considered as best effort.
