QUOTE(mrfarhatadib89 @ Oct 24 2018, 10:22 AM) im on vdsl. early october i go tm point asking for the best offer they can give since my place cannot support 100mbps. Does your building have Time fibre?they offer me 50mbps/rm129 with STB but renew contract. so i accepted it. i heard now if u go tm point they can offer rm99 for 50mbps wthout STB. not sure about that though. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Oct 25 2018, 02:51 PM) You may end up like me. Maybe RM 129 for 500Mbps. that'sa nice price what. I have 500 Mbps + ultimate and I'm paying 159. No unlimited calls. You got a great deal.Reason why 500 and not 800? Our package is too cheap. 500Mbps is 229, so with 130 discount will be RM 99 and ultimate RM 60 = 159. If with Ruby still exists then another RM 30 = RM 189 as original price. |

QUOTE(hhkong @ Oct 26 2018, 09:35 AM) No. The turbo upgrade doesn't affect your contract. What you see is your service start date. That is different from your contract date. Learn to comprehend what you read, service and contract mean different things. This post has been edited by dickybird: Oct 26 2018, 11:10 AM |

QUOTE(JadenFongV @ Oct 26 2018, 01:54 PM) Is their tm router reliable? I heard my friend said they are lousy router..hmm Depends on whether your devices are wired or wireless and also how fast your package is. For wired devices, the stock router should be fine. If you have a high speed package, 100 Mbps or more, and you have a lot of recent wireless devices it is definitely better to get the best dual band router you can afford. How fast you do in speed tests depends on how recent your devices are not just the router it must be said.Any recommend webaite? Diff website give diff speed result, diff device diff result also :confuse: |

QUOTE(Blu3skyzz @ Oct 26 2018, 03:19 PM) Hi guys, need some help. Just buy your own dual band with gigabit ethernet router, will definitely be better than the TM supplied router. My sis unifi account (unifi lite 10mpbs RM119 - about 3years) was transfer the ownership to me. During applying Transfer of ownership, I was mention upgrade to RM129 100mbps. Now everything is done. But question is I unable to get new modem & router from them? I asked from live chat, the staff told me is for existing customer. it is unfair? And they charge me for advance payment, was unifi billing charges is advance? - unifi staff said telco always charge advance. This post has been edited by dickybird: Oct 26 2018, 04:28 PM |

QUOTE(TiramisuCoffee @ Oct 26 2018, 05:01 PM) Guys, i plan to switch to 100mbps RM129 (from old price of 30 mbps RM209 : contract long expired...). Ive a couple of questions: These questions are moot if your area doesn't even have fibre coverage. TM will not allow you to choose the 100 Mbps package. Best they can do is offer you a cut price contract on your current 30 Mbps package.1. Is it an uninterrupted internet upgrade? Do i have to pay hidden charges for such upgrade? 2. When TM upgrade its infrastructures to fibre, will this new package which i will subscribe by this year, be eligible for turbo ? Or would just be upgraded to 100mbps. (Currently max for my area is 30mbps. Ive considered going for the RM79 package, but its not for unlimited data usage.). 3. Whats the penalty,if prematurely cancel the new 2 year contract? 4. Can I take out their TV bundle, which i never will watch anyway....? Kindly advise. Thanks. Better ask if your building which I assume is a high rise has got Time Fibre internet or not? 1. No hidden charges. 2. No further turbo upgrade. 3. Cancellation as per contract rules. Penalties and fees arise. 4. No. This post has been edited by dickybird: Oct 26 2018, 05:15 PM |

QUOTE(fleur_cherie @ Oct 26 2018, 06:28 PM) Hi..currently upgraded to turbo 300mbps..i can get around that speed with cable, tested at speedtest. But wifi cannot get that fast, since my laptop has the 802.11b network adaptor. So i bought D-link wireless N 300mbps. But the wifi speed gets slower that using my laptop's original wifi network. Anyone can help? First page, first post, green text.Currently using windows 10.. subscribed unifi at the end of 2017, so i think my router are up to date. |

QUOTE(cskean @ Oct 26 2018, 06:56 PM) My current unifiTV is Ultimate Pack, and I'm not really using this service since the 1st day of my Unifi. You're out of contract, right? And it's also been more than 12 months which is the minimum subscription period for a TV pack. Can call 100 and ask them to change switch to another TV pack. But I tend to give it a try for the very 1st time, after I got myself a 2nd hand STB. Lets say after that, if I want to change the Ultimate Pack to other pack like Ruby or Aneka, which is RM30 per month, do you think TM will allow this? I can save RM30 more per month.... |

QUOTE(cskean @ Oct 26 2018, 07:20 PM) The last I check from live chat, my unifi contract will end On Jan 2019. So this means that my unifiTV is more than 12 months right? Since Unifi contract is 24 months~ No idea how changing your TV pack will affect your high speed broadband discount. The two may or may not be linked. Even the TM nut you deal with may not even know. How much are you paying for what speed? Is it feasible or desirable to consider switching to the 100/129 package if you don't need the turbo speed? I'm sure that might save even more RM the only condition is you'll need a new contract. And according to you, if I request to switch to a cheaper tv pack, it will auto reduce RM30 from my total unifi bill right? Any chances the discount part will add back the RM30 or even more for the sake to maintain back my original price? Base on blacktubi, Singapore region shares the same setting with Malaysia. So shouldn't be any difference in channel list right? I check with my TM TP Link C1200, for the 2.4GHz it has 13 channels and 5GHz has 8 channels. Are these channels standard for all router brand with MCMC certified? Or high end router tend to have more channels? Sg Asus routers still cheaper with our lousy exchange rate? QUOTE(cskean @ Oct 27 2018, 02:22 PM) Guys, after using Wifi Analyzer to detect which channel better for my 2.4GHz & 5GHz, I change the router setting to the dedicated channel instead of putting it at AUTO. Did you restart your router after saving your settings? Did you mess with the bandwidth spread? Internet seems to be working fine, BUT when I try to update my apps through Play Store, it seems like not able to update at all from the 2.4GHz or 5GHz... Anyone facing such issue before after changing the channel setting from AUTO to dedicated channel? Router : TM TP Link C1200 V 1.0 Firmware : 1.0.0 Build 20180403 rel.22124 (EU) (Just recently updated from TP Link MY website after getting my turbo upgrade) If your devices are 5 GHz capable, I'd just connect them to the 5 GHz SSID and delete the 2.4 GHz SSID for those devices, lessens the interference overall. |

QUOTE(cskean @ Oct 27 2018, 03:22 PM) Hmm, I assume no need to restart since after I changed the channel, my devices will auto disconnect & reconnect from the wifi itself. I need to have both 2.4GHz & 5GHz store in my devices cause some of my area are kinda weak in 5GHz... In bold, some devices prefer you leave the channel width on auto. I'm sorry, but what do you mean by bandwidth spread? Is it channel width you are referring to? Nevertheless, I will try again to set it to dedicated channel, and restart the router to see whether it works or not~ Hahaha, this is why I say I have to wait and see the price of AX router when it is launch in MY before making any decision. I watched this video too~ Ops, I remember someone here mention that it is better to set to the less congested channel in order to have less interference? Or did I get it wrongly? Actually I'm don't quite get the readying from Wifi Analyzer app. Under the Channel Rating reading, the rating for each channel seems to change from time to time. I set my channel width for 2.4GHz : 20MHz and 5GHz : 80Mhz as recommended by forumer here... Speedtest is working, and other internet services too. I also have the thought that maybe is Play Store having issue, so I turn it to my mobile network, and it is running without any problem. Only this morning I remember I mess with the router channel setting last night... Using the WiFi analyser you should be able to see the neighbouring WiFi radios are on which channels, set your WiFi channel to one where there is no other WiFi signal. It's like going to McDonald's, you always go the cashier with the shortest Q or no Q. You can use also use the WIFI analyser to check if relocating the wireless router to a new location would improve reception in your known 5 GHz deadspots?
