QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 20 2018, 08:40 PM) Haha. was afraid of that. Heard it is quite affordable for the performance it is giving What do you think of the Archer C5400? How much of a performance upgrade can I expect from the C5400? Does it have a further house wifi coverage (both 2.5ghz and 5ghz) with all those antennas it has? |

C5400 is literally the C3150 with an extra 5Ghz band, they are very similar device but with beefier specs. It comes with 8 antennas. To be frank, the signal output is rather similar with C3150, what it excels is the performance when you have many devices connected. |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 20 2018, 09:20 PM) Good stuff, mind to link me with UBNT Malaysia so I can get a unit to play? No worries. Glad to help Anyway, why this instead of their normal line of APs for your clients tho? Thanks for the tips. He recommended the AmplifiHD as it is the first UBNT product for home networking, instead of their normal line of APs, which could require a steep learning curve in learning and configuration, while this is designed for straight out of the box use, similar to other consumer routers. So, this is like getting an enterprise product but having the ease of use of home networking product. See here for a comparison between this product and their enterprise product, the UniFi: https://michaelkummer.com/technology/amplif...s-unifi-review/ This post has been edited by SilentVampire: Sep 20 2018, 09:35 PM |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 17 2018, 05:08 PM) Before you start, check that your computer and router support Gigabit Ethernet by referring to the specs sheet. Make sure you use a CAT5E cable or better. You can download this simple batch file to check your Gigabit link speed. 100000000 = 100Mbps 10000000000 = Gigabit ![]() Connect your computer to your router and run the file to see see if the ports are Gigabit capable and repeat it with your BTU modem. If you do not get Gigabit speed but your equipment is Gigabit capable, check your wire and rerun the test with another computer and Ethernet cable. If your BTU is confirmed to be a Gigabit capable BTU, contact your ISP as they may have configured it wrongly. What about WiFi speed? Read post #4 |

QUOTE(firecracker @ Sep 21 2018, 12:44 AM) Tough choice for me.I would be more towards the C5400 as it has a better wireless coverage. I value wireless coverage over those features. RT-AC86U still a great device coupled with AiMesh you can add another node to your network in the future. Not to mention AsusWRT is really feature rich. |

QUOTE(thankyou @ Sep 21 2018, 01:26 AM) I was thinking to get ubnt amplifi or TP Link deco M9 Plus when they are on the market... M9 Plus is available in Sri Computer Low Yat Plaza, RM899, can negotiate if pay by cash, I just got a set of it, but 2 problems, 1st is IPv6 not working, no matter Dynamic IP or PPPoE, statefull or stateless, maybe gonna wait them to fix. 2nd is too easy to switch to 2.4GHz, maybe all mesh systems got the same problem too Just wonder which is better... Coverage is amazing, especially 2.4GHz, QoS surprisingly good, 802.11k, v, r supported, Orbi and Velop only has 802.11k, v, no r supported. Ethernet backhaul supported, but 2nd 5GHz not available for clients, only for backhaul. US selling this set for USD299, Netgear Orbi RBK40 is USD230, in Malaysia, RM899 for M9 Plus, RBK40 RM1799, if you compare the price between M5 and M9 Plus, it should be more than RM1500 for M9 Plus, I think because TP-Link is trying to grab market share in Malaysia, especially in this turbo moment. |
