QUOTE(MGM @ Sep 21 2018, 03:00 PM) So to check if my BTU modem is gigabit capable I need to connect my laptop DIRECTLY to the BTU n run the above command? YES or NO? Actually without that also can just check, just connect BTU straight to computer and open network adapter properties, under status When connected BTU to laptop, my laptop shows 100mbps Connect BTU to my desktop PC, it shows 1.0gbps..

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Sep 21 2018, 02:59 AM) No support for 802.11 k, r and v which is a major drawback to me. They rely on their own roaming algorithm which may or may not work that well as it depends on the client device. The only thing great with AiMesh is the performance as their routers have some seriously powerful radio which typical off the shelf mesh system lacks. Of course, you get the full ASUSWRT features if you are into that. There is AP mode on the M9 Plus. I like the 802.11r support but it is not enabled by default, you need to enable it on the app. If you intend to run it as a router, mind that it doesn't support HyppTV at the moment. If you already have a good setup on the Mikrotik, I feel AP mode is the way to go. You will lose out the app control which is rather intuitive but if you use Mikrotik, you probably not into that. QUOTE(heidarren @ Sep 21 2018, 03:19 AM) Yes you can have 2 options, router mode or AP mode, both r supported, can select it while setting up, choose it from the apps. RM870 for 2 X M9 Plus, that's the price I got for cash paying. Thanks. Looks like M9 Plus is a good option...

Could be your BTU does not support the turbo speed, or your PC does not support it. The C1200 can definitely support more than 100Mbps. See my signature as well, for more info. Just connect your LAN cable, ideally Cat 5e or Cat 6 to the BTU LAN port 1, and see the connected speed. If it is 1Gbps, then your BTU support 1Gbps.

Haha, true, but it is easy to figure out if you are capped to 100Mbps or not though, just by looking at the max speed you can get on your device, so that is unnecessary unless you want to confirm.

Just want to ask, how come the link speed for 5ghz coneection only max on 866.7mbps on all of my device same as when I use the tplink c1200 even though it suppose to get 1300mbps link speed? device limitation?

By the way, I using stock router tp link archer c1200. Yes, it only supports 2.4GHz. You need to be on 5GHz AC to enjoy turbo speed, and your router does not support 500Mbps speed by the way. Read the link on my signature, green text, to learn more and for a list of compatible routers, or read 1st page of this thread to learn more. Yes, device limitation. All your devices with max of 866.7Mbps link speed only has 2x2 MIMO on 5GHz AC. 1300Mbps link speed is reserved for devices that support 3x3 MIMO in 5GHz AC.
