I think Alonso should refrain from doing any interviews from now on. Everything he says gets misintepreted time and again. He has a point when he says that the British media lack respect.

QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Jun 13 2007, 10:01 AM) Awww Alonso starts to complain again... at his team again... What's with his statement, what exactly is he trying to say?! The truth. For one he acknowledge that his teammate is doing a good job for a rookie, and usually the team will try to help a rookie more. For the brit media, nothing more to say. Screaming murder when he won at Monaco, not mentioning him when he won at Malaysia. while the spanish gives both drivers the same kind of treatment But for all I care this is going to be a really great season. On one hand, a 2 time world champ driving a car that does not suit his driving style and tyres that he's not used to, but still manage to go fast. and on another a rookie that is going beyond expectation, and might even win the championship on his first try. If Ferrari still shooting their foot, both will sweep the floor of the opposition

I just dont understand why Alonso is so demanding. I mean he said he didnt get the attention he needed, and i am just wondering who gave him the cover in Sepang, Spain anyone?! And in Monaco...
Just 1 race that he perform badly and Lewis gets the spotlight and now he is coming up to complain? Come on man, this is F1...

QUOTE(adrian0229 @ Jun 13 2007, 02:31 PM) yus..seems lik u support lewis...u no longer support kimi r? Remember what I said last year before the season started? About supporting McLaren's 2nd driver and wish him the best. Deja vu at the moment. You support who? Anyway, still a long season to go. But looking pretty good for Lewis....because he is good. I support Sato...LMAO. This post has been edited by Raikkonen: Jun 13 2007, 02:46 PM

I don't see any complaining. I'm with linkin. I'm enjoying this season. It's the British media that's trying to plant seeds of unrest which is uncalled for imo. Sure Alonso could have driven better at Canada but i don't see anything wrong with his comments. But then again some lack the intelligence to intepret articles with a little common sense and would rather rely on headlines.

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Jun 12 2007, 07:41 AM) Actually he was banned at the Belgian GP in 1996 because he disobeyed the Stewards at the British GP. Thus giving Damon the chance to close the gap. Erm, I believed that in 1996 it was obvious and publicly stated the he never expected to challenge for the title in the Banard Ferrari? And He won Spa and Monza back to back that year. It was in 1994 he was DQed for an overly worn wooden underplank.

QUOTE(Raikkonen @ Jun 13 2007, 02:51 PM) I hope you're not bias towards me. Because I'm not the only one here posted quoted articles from F1 web sites. There's nothing wrong with quoting articles. Interpreting them is what i'm talking about. Added on June 13, 2007, 2:58 pmA more sensible article this: Source: Autosport.comQUOTE Dennis reiterates equality for his drivers
McLaren boss Ron Dennis has reiterated his team's commitment to provide Fernando Alonso and teammate Lewis Hamilton with equal opportunities to win this year's world championship.
Alonso told Spanish radio Cadena Ser on Monday night that he hasn't felt fully comfortable at McLaren since joining the team at the start of the year, the double world champion suggesting Briton Hamilton was getting more support from what is a British team.
Dennis, however, has responded in saying that McLaren are giving - and will give - both drivers the same support and opportunities, also suggesting the media is making a story out of 'an innocent remark'.
"It's completely understandable that the results of each Grand Prix are going to provide both the British and the Spanish media with an opportunity to hang on every word that the drivers say - and sometimes quotes are taken out of context, which can put a completely different spin on an innocent remark," Dennis said.
"The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team is made up by extremely passionate and competitive people, and there is a healthy competition between the teams working on each car - this is inevitable, and there is no issue with that.
"However I can categorically state once again that both drivers have equal equipment, equal support and equal opportunity to win within the team, and both Fernando and Lewis know and support this.
"Fernando's comments when read carefully are correct; he hasn't been with the team long and the relationship can only continue to develop. The team is not going to do anything to jeopardise this positive and growing partnership." This post has been edited by verx: Jun 13 2007, 02:58 PM

It's about time Dennis grooming Alonso I guess we're all free to use our own discretion. Alonso has his. His fans has theirs. Others have theirs. This post has been edited by Raikkonen: Jun 13 2007, 03:06 PM

But i would like to point out that the original interview was actually done in Spanish. Knowing the British press they did twist a few words here and there. As i said a little common sense goes a long way. It's just too bad that common sense ain't very common.

Maybe next time, Alonso should apply some common sense when doing interview or just avoid doing any, like Lewis

QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Jun 13 2007, 03:02 PM) Dont quite understand what Alonso said by this, anybody wanna interpret? Alonso: I miss Fisi so much... Read the whole statement for that to make sense. The majority of humans will usually never delve deep into what they read, which is why they have a hard time understanding what really is meant. That's also why the rate of pass for BM and BI in SPM are still not 100% in Malaysia. Back to topic, what he said was, this is still early in the season. And to be second in points behind his own teammate with many races to go will be benifiting to him as he still has time to learn about teh car and the tyres more. Thus he is confident by the time F1 is in Brazil, he will won the world championship.

He feels they are manipulative bastards (not his own word, but he implied it). Lewis is usually interviewed by F1 insiders like F1 racing journalist and such

See where i'm getting at. Alonso has to give interviews; it's part of his job; but maybe he should not say too complicated things seeing as the British media like to jump at every chance to twist his words
