smile.gif i just got my braces at how's orthodontic. i go for ''Clippy-C''-invisible one. My condition: One of my front tooth
45degree senget outward. Dr said this Clippy-C is the advanced version of Damon3. Less pain & faster result.
doctor put the braces on the upper side first.(he said put the lower side on next month)

the 5th day, the wire come out from the last bracket on my upper left side. I left it like that for 2days, then I make appointment to the doctor to fix it.
For my surprise, the wire of my front teeth did not move, even though the wire behind lose and out of the last bracket..
I think this is what they call it ''self-ligating'? sweat.gif
Actually i'm wondering what different between 'self-ligating' with normal one? I don't really understand the idea.
can someone clear me out? icon_question.gif i asked my doctor, but he said that it's not 'automatic adjusting/tightening'.. doh.gif

For invisible or visible bracket, its depend on ppl on preferences la..but, i did not regret take the invisible one, coz, ppl hardly can see the i wear braces(especially when take photo icon_rolleyes.gif ,in certain distance..not very close-up la)..and the bracket is smaller thumbup.gif ..so,its more easily to get used to it and close mouth(i face d difficulties to talk and close mouth in the 1st week)

Hey, I also went there today.. for my 2nd visits appointment.. Didn't see you tongue.gif

Today, Dr. put a "bite stop" behind my front teeth. Now, my back teeth can't touch each other when close my mouth.. I have to find a way to from today onwards.. Going to thiner and thiner.. sweat.gif

today is 3rd month.. i can see my teeth is move slightly in..if press the teeth, it can move a bit tongue.gif

"Damon passive self-ligating brackets allow freedom of movement and thus faster results with gentler forces(less painful)."
vs
"Elastic ligatures create friction and binding and require more force (painful) and more-frequent adjustments."

Well... different ppl got different tolerence to pain... and... different type of braces got different level of pain too.. tongue.gif but one thing is sure.. there's gonna be pain... but not so extreme until cannot sleep la I think.. the pain might be a bit disturbing and annoying but dun think so it's THAT painful unsure.gif ....but the first week might be a bit pain la.. coz ur teeth wanna adjust to the braces mah...

the cause of pain might be from the braces itself....
other than that will be the ulcers loh....

in other words.. no pain no gain! whistling.gif

but after all those pain.. when u see ur teeth all well aligned.. WAH! worth it.... rclxm9.gif

Hi all~

I'm done with my braces around 2 years ago... guess i can share some of my experiences here ....

i'm having a nice teeth after being suffered for 1 and the half year ....

about the extraction of teeth question, actually most of my frens including me did need extraction of healthy teeth due to normally the untidy growing fo teeth is due to they dont have enough spaces to grow accordingly.

U'll probaly suffer pain in the very first week since your teeth are trying to adjust but the later on days you'll only suffer a bit pain for around 3 days (for my case) after each month appointment to tighten ur braces.

Hope it helps ^^.

Hmm..understood. But putting on braces means put it on both up and down? I saw got a friend of mine, she said the dentist tighten her upper teeth 1st then later on only do the lower part. It is to lessen the pain doing that way? Before doing braces, the dentist will pluck out some of your teeth right? It is the last teeth, the bigger ones? Coz recently I have 2 new grown teeth at the last corner there, senget ones sad.gif How to cabut oh..painful>.< And how much do u paid at the 1st sessions? Pay in 1 go or pay it everytime u visited the dentist? Thank you for the helping tips,at least i know rclxms.gif

this is a girls club but yet i still want to share my experience using braces 5 years ago ... its best to use braces when you are still young because , when u are getting older , it will take more time..

usually , u can get braces at the governement hospital .. but you need to wait about at least 1 year to wait for your turn .. but its cheaper .. about RM500-800 if im not mistaken ..

usually .. people who are just getting braces will find it hard to eat including myself .. i didnt eat rice for 3 days ... and everytime getting it tighten , it hurts alot .. even to spit also cannot ...

nothing can be compared to after wearing off the braces ... no need to clean the space at our teeth everytime after eating .. huhuhu .. no more staring from people at our teeth ..

1) erm... as far as I know need to put it both up and down...
2)as far as the tightening upper first, then only the lower 1... I think it's basically depend on the dentist.. but I'll rather have both sekaligus... pain sekali faster finish...
3) if extraction is needed, it depends loh... but most of my friends all also took out the wisdom tooth, the big ones at the back, but last time when I consu;lt the dentist, if I decided to take other braces type (non damon 3) he say extract the tooth that next to our gigi taring... 2 up 2 down...

about the payment.. as for me : (Damon 3)

1) X-RAY + moulding = dunno how much dy.. I think RM300 ++
2) Confirm want to have braces : RM750
3) Before putting on the brackets (they call it bonding process) : another RM750
4) Monthly instalment : RM310

anyway, I think it's the best if u just go consult the dentist lah... whether to extract or not... or put braces on upper teeth only or adjust alternately... u can ask him / her... they know best... coz it's their profession ma... we here can give semangat only.... thumbup.gif
