QUOTE(karynkhoo @ May 12 2010, 03:20 PM) i only c improvement 2-3 months after having braces on. be patient... No worry on the extraction, my friend did extact wisdom tooth by Dr How on 3 weeks ago. Morning extracted, afternoon can eat as usual. She said didn't feel anything during the extraction but she just take one tab of pain killer provided by Dr. How. When the anaesthesia is over, she also didn't feel anything pain..i jst noticed 1 of my bracket came off, jst called dr. how clinic to make appt to fix it back, but the earliest available slot is 20 may. so my next appt will b on 20 may noon. then i've another appt on 25 may morning to extract my wisdom tooth... feel a bit paranoid... Added on May 12, 2010, 3:25 pm maybe we can try to schedule on the same day n have a small gathering there. haha... Added on May 13, 2010, 2:27 pm QUOTE(NikkiDaTeddy @ May 12 2010, 04:36 PM) Hehe...okok...good choice. U dotn wanna go wedding dinner with two pieces of cotton stuff in your mouth. It won't la.. Most of time, the cotton can throw after 1~2 hours of extraction. The wound will stop bleeding.. Just don't "suck" internally within 48 hours will do.. I believe you able to attend wedding dinner without problem if your extraction is on morning or noon time. You know, i had serious "operation" to inplant 2 tooth, whereby Dr. How inplant 2 screws into my gum and sew back the wound on phase 1. Surprisingly, I didn't feel any serious pain after the anaesthesia. Just as usual and didn;t caused any uncomfortable. May be due to new medicine of anaesthesia or skill of Dr. How ? I don't know.. So, guys.. Don't worry on extraction of tooth la.. This post has been edited by kentcp: May 13 2010, 02:27 PM |

QUOTE(karynkhoo @ May 19 2010, 11:03 AM) bracket come off won't charge as long as u still keep it. if u lose the bracket, then need to charge. Aiya.. didn't call me. i'm using oral-b. recommended by dr. how, because it's non alcoholic. i forgot how much i bought per bottle, stock up a lot at home during promotion. Added on May 19, 2010, 1:19 pmi just came back from dr. how's. i walked in n waited for less than an hour. surprisingly, faster than with appointment, hahaha... settled my lose bracket and changed the wire for lower jaw. anticipating for my wisdom tooth extraction next tuesday! |

Actually i'm quite fed up with all the rescheduling. I'm supposed to extract my wisdom tooth tomorrow morning. I've already informed my boss that I'll be taking MC this week. My bf already took half day leave tomorrow to fetch me to the clinic. My mom already took leave to cook for me after the surgery. Wow..whole team will ready to serve you ... |

QUOTE(hlee09 @ Jun 21 2010, 01:56 PM) Hi everyone! i'm new to tis though i've been reading tis for some time. i'm getting my braces tis weekend at how's. seems like he's the only ortho i can trust. Hi, Check pages 74, Post #1465i'm in dilemma on the type of braces i shld go for. i'm in late twenties, so i wish smtg subtle (vry shy la..) hence innovation c. but dr told me it produces slower result than damon 3, mostly becos it get loose & break easily therefore prolonges treatment time. becos of my age oso, i do wish to speed it up. somemore dr highly recommends me lotus system. i dun think i've read any lotus user in here. can the lotus supporters share wit me their experiences pls? there u see....i've no idea wat i shld take.... DAMON 3?? INNOVATION C?? LOTUS??? btw, those who paid 6k for damon is using damon 3 or damon 3MX? reali, reali appreciate ur sharing and replies |

QUOTE(hlee09 @ Jun 24 2010, 09:36 PM) Tks niki n anespian for ur feedback. Yes.. several of time Ken, did ur bracket ever loosen? Tomatonz, I believe I've read somewhere before tat Damon doesn't necessarily mean extraction can be avoided. Depend on individual's case. If one's teeth r too crowded n his jaw is too small, extraction is a must otherwise the teeth cannot move to d correct position. Dr told me he has to pull out my 2 upper teeth to correct my overbite. But he wan me to wear my braces for some time b4 he extract. I asked him y n he said he wan the teeth to loosen up abit 1st. Then when he pull out later, I will feel less pain. I've seen my fren who had her teeth pulled out b4 put on braces n she was in pain for days. So pity her. Luckily my lower teeth r not crowded so can save 2 teeth I hav 2 more days to enjoy my apple, pear n potato chips..The only consolation I hav is tat I'll manage to get rid of my spare tyre after tis... |

QUOTE(tomatonz @ Jun 29 2010, 09:32 AM) i never take out the dental wax cuz if i take out, the wire will poke me even more because when i eat, there are lot of "creative moments" by the cheek (so poke here and there) haha... I change the dental wax when necessary. I have gummy smile, that's why need to installed screws.. and it works.. Kesian during the first week, my teeth were too weak to chew on anything. Cannot chew rice, apatah lagi vegetables and meat.. Whole week I had mee sua soup with egg inside the soup and I was eating so slow that myself had tired jaw haha... And then i think second week my teeth were also weak but not as week as 1st week and one of my friend had her birthday lunch at pizza hut! Aiyoh.. I couldn't chew on pizza so I ordered lasagna... basically i was just swallowing the lasagna and them others had pizza... Slowly when I felt my teeth became stronger, that time la, i went and try everything that i could think of.. haha.. including fried anchovies & mamee (aiyoh), fried sotong oso i gasak haha which I know I should not try but hey life is too short haha... But I take very long time to finish my food until sometimes i get tired jaw haha... My condition is also similar to hlee09 where I only have my upper teeth braced but 2 teeth extracted already la... Dunno when my lower teeth will be braced... I think that time lagi suffer cuz both upper and lower teeth will be weak during first few weeks... Pain is good cuz it is a sign that the teeth are moving... people said you will lose weight after you pakai braces but I dont see that happening to me YET! Maybe cuz what im going thru is just the initial stage, not yet the complicated stage where screws will be installed la, then pakai powerchain la this and that. I have gummy smile so doctor said the screws will improve the condition... dengar pun takut... How bout you guys? |

QUOTE(NikkiDaTeddy @ Jun 30 2010, 09:00 AM) I have those screws on since dr. extracted two of my upper tooth. Cos since he need to use anesthetics ma so together lo. With anesthetic, u wont feel anything at all. I was watching doctor's hand turning and screwing in and i dont feel scared. In fact teeth removing was more scary. Haha And then u most probably wont feel any pain from the screws also...mayb just numb feeling. And When its still new, u'll feel funny cos there are two new dot behind ur lips. Imagine, u hide two rice there.... |
