Unless we have a concrete evidence or source it is subsidised by AMEX, then again AMEX Malaysia is owned and operated by Maybank since 2006. We can only see that Maybank is the one subsidising.
I last read from the newspaper that only about 10% of credit card holders in Malaysia consistently pay in full. It’s a news piece from quite some time ago but I don’t think the figure has changed much.

http://www.thesundaily.my/news/2017/08/21/...s-malaysia-june

At parliament, August 2017...

43.6% of card holders settled their credit card debts fully from last Jan to June.
Another 43.6% paid at least five per cent of the outstanding balance during the same period while the remaining 12.8% did not pay the outstanding balance of the minimum payment before or during the payment date.

what u guys arguing about? i dont understand
*
Not arguing lah. Just to use the data to tell...
- CC holders are privileged minority, less than 20% of Malaysians can get at least 1 CC.
- Only 43.6% can "afford" to settle full payment every month. Thank you those 56.4% contributing to make the reward/rebate scheme attractive.

(2) TM Payment Machines (Kiosks)

Thanks, maybe temporary error. I try again later.
*
I just checked. Nothing changed.
Make sure you choose "Telekom - Tel and Multimedia" (Not Telekom - Unifi).
Remove "-" from your Streamyx account.

Use M2U Classic if you experience an error using new M2U.

Refund not in yet, but it will be in within 7 days, so it might be on a weekend as well.

I guess I’ll just do a RM1000 spending this month and see how much cash back I’ll receive. Will share the results.
*
Your transaction on a August weekend?
Then check your refund is by Reversal (ie same transaction date but different post dates, debit in Aug & credit in Oct) or a new retail transaction (new transaction date - Oct date).
If the first one, most likely you need to spend RM1250 on weekends, otherwise you may get a "Negative" rebate for Oct.
If the second one, most likely you just need to spend RM1000 only on weekends.

You will lose the chance to earn 5% weekend CB for signing up auto bills.
Let say 1 month RM100 bill will lose RM5; 2 months RM10 gone.
You still have 2/7 chance when the bill fall on weekend though tongue.gif
Not sure T&C will tied you up for how long.
Unless you never pay bills on weekend for CB.

If you're really into the cashback, there is a "tutorial" by one of our expert (I think it was ClarenceT) - manual pay some, autopay some (if the merchant is also giving rebates for autobilling). Then you get the best of both worlds.
*
Pay for normal statement balance LESS RM23 at m2u Bill payment 1 weekend before the statement date. You will get -Rm2 on the next statement.

Anyone used M2C Amex for foreign transactions?

Will the 5% weekend Cashback work and is it worth using it for the 5% Cashback?

I'm planning to buy my air ticket from UNIAIR directly.

From what I see, I will be charged with a 2.5% conversion factor by AMEX + 0.5% admin charges by Maybank. So effectively 3% premium over their exchange rate right? So putting it simple, still approximately 2% Cashback? Or I'm still missing something?
*
2 other issues...
Using M2 Amex Gold/Platinum, you will earn 5TP worth 1%.
Using Maybank Visa/MC, you still need to pay +2% to 2.5%.

So sometime I used Amex instead of Visa, before Oct 2017.

Wait lemme get this right,
Autodebit will occur on the bill date correct? (NOT bill due date)
And on the bill date there must atleast be RM20 bill in order for there to be RM2 discount?

So if my bill date falls on a weekday and If I wanna get 5% weekend cashback, I just prepay the bill amount the weekend prior to the bill date? So basically I would need to prepay the bill?
*
QUOTE(SwarmTroll @ Oct 13 2018, 04:59 PM)
So first time autodebit needs RM20 minimum, while next bill onwards needs RM22 minimum for autodebit? Someone mentioned it was RM23 before?
*
Direct Debit will not occur on a weekend (Sat/Sun), usually a few days after the statement is issued! (I assume it is manually done during weekday)

It may not be so easy to know the next statement amount in this few months transition period, due to adjustment of GST and SST, change of package, turbo scheme.

Not everyone can fully understand how the direct debit rebate work, so I make your life easier, I suggested you to pay [statement amount less RM23] 1-2 weekend before statement date. (You get 5-15 sen less only)

At your own risk, you may play with -RM20.05 for the first direct debit, -RM22.05 (before direct debit rebate) for the subsequent bills, but you may have a chance getting a bill <RM20 then you lose -RM2.

I see. 1 to 2 weekends as in the weekends before the statement date right? Lets say statement date falls on a monday, the sunday (1 day before) and saturday (2 day before) before this monday is fine correct?
*
Use m2u bill payment - TM / Unifi, you will get a thank-you SMS from TM a few hours later.
Most of the time I pre-pay on the last Sat/Sun of the previous month, if I have unused weekend quota.

iirc, mcmc requested telcos not to charge for 1300/1800 to customers years ago.

but inter-connect fee still applies between operators, whereby terminating operator (receiving) gotta pay the originating operator (initiating)

i.e telcos making money for receiving these calls laugh.gif
no idea. you can try asking their CS.
*
1300 still chargeable at local call rate.

1800 - Free Calls
1300 - Local Call (rate)

my wife is holding M2C few years back. She do not have any saving account. Got a maybank2u online account..

Recently just added barcelona went to maybank branch want to link to existing maybank2u account. They staff told us cannot link and need to create a new one..

Currently having 2 maybank2u account..
Account 1 with m2c
Account 2(new) with m2c and barcelona

Is this correct? Lets say in future add another card, need to create account 3?? Quite weird on how maybank handle this....
Can ask to cancel/close Account 1?
*
Get a Maybank CASA -lah. FOC ATM/Debit. ATM almost everywhere in Malaysia.
You can do a lot of things in M2U including Fund transfer to overseas, hundreds of payees etc.

WTF...

Kindly be informed that we can only proceed with Service Tax Treatspoints redemption for Maybank 2 Cards Amex since Maybank Visa Signature Barcelona is a Cash Back card. Hence, you are required to pay the Service Tax fee for the said card. We seek your kind understanding on this.
*
Difference only RM5, not a big deal, no need WTF.
