MIUI 12 rollout for the Pocophone F1 may be delayed because of overheating issues
MIUI 12 is still yet to arrive for the Pocophone F1, months after Xiaomi started rolling out the OS upgrade to numerous devices. Apparently, the reason for the delay centres on overheating issues, which occur even during simple tasks like recording a 4K video or running the screen at full brightness.
The wait for MIUI 12 on the Pocophone F1 has stretched into September. Xiaomi had apparently scheduled the OS upgrade for late August following a postponement because of various issues. The company then issued MIUI 12 to devices enrolled on the Mi Pilot program, but that was over three weeks ago.
Now, Piunikaweb has reported that Xiaomi may have delayed the rollout because of overheating issues. Apparently, multiple Pocophone F1 handsets have been overheating, some while recording 4K/30 FPS videos. Overheating can occur within twenty seconds of recording a video at these settings or with the screen set to maximum brightness.
A moderator on Mi Community suggests that Xiaomi is on the cusp of releasing a stable version of MIUI 12 for the Pocophone F1, but the complaints referred to by Piunikaweb suggest otherwise. Neither Poco nor Xiaomi have confirmed when the Pocophone F1 will receive MIUI 12, but reams of devices have already received the OS upgrade. Xiaomi has included the Pocophone F1 on Round 2 of its MIUI 12 release schedule, but it may prove to be one of the last devices on that list to receive the upgrade at this rate.

I've received MIUI 12 and been using it since last month though.
