Me do notice immediately when charging, the phone will select the best charging protocol for the charger & cable combo.

It will do three chimes before selecting the best protocol (aka voltage-ampere) combo.

Me not using stock charger & cable. These guys still in the box untouched. Me use 3rd party charger & cable (by Baseus). So far, no issues regarding charging.

One good noticeable upgrade in this MIUI12 is the Face Unlock now works flawlessly even in dim light condition. We can see the infrafred sensor is lit up durin Face Unlock.

Face Unlock also working when wearing face mask but it'll take 1 second delay before unlock.

I still find the IR camera completely useless lol. Which is probably why on F2 its gone.

Would trade it over a punch hole design than that huge notch.

But the punch hole cam cannot work with face mask and pitch dark... the IR Cam sensor in F1 is working very well now ... must be due to wide angle IR Cam hardware...

Hmmmm...still no news on Global Miui12. How's the EU rom? Can use daily? Any bug? Need to beta tester to use that rom right?

So far the MIUI12 EU ROM is working well on me's unit. You may read further on the dedicated threads over here:

You will see a few users have bad experience as well. Me guess they never hard reset the unit before flashing the EU ROM (which they come from different ROMs). As for me, the unit never being flashed with so many rubbish ROMs. Me just stick to EU ROM from Day 1. So, the OTA experience is very smooth all the while.

If you have other ROMs before, please do hard reset by flashing the Global ROM and then only flash to EU ROM.

Conclusion :
No detrimental effects on energy consumption. All is good as before.

hope miui12 comes sooner, my other phones are both on Miui12 already
the poco x3 just got an update and it resolves lots of miui12 bugs
hope that the phones that get miui12 later than this wont have such issues and bugs
