My bill is RM169 +sst RM179. 30 Mbps high rise too. Contract expires next year.

Not eligible for turbo upgrade. Max speed at apartment building 30 or 50 Mbps only, heard no 100 Mbps at high rise so me not upgrading to the RM129 plan.

What the others in our same boat do?

1) Stay same package, same price. No turbo ever.
2) Stay same package, asking for reduced  price ( Can aa?)
3) Upgrading to RM129 100 Mbps knowing can only get half the speed at best but at least no quota, and cheaper plan

4) Downgrade to RM79 30 Mbps with quota + 2 new contract years
5) Migrate to Maxis Fibre Rm89 30 Mbps no quota, free unlimited call (my floor has no maxis fibre yet, levels below me got)
6) Migrate to TIME (My place not within coverage)
7) Something else entirely
Currently I'm using Unifi stb as my Kodi box. If downgrade, need to buy own stb or watch on laptop and really need to plan quota for my streaming viewing

For no.4, I'm waiting to see how much the add-on quota would be priced. Need to wait till next year to know.

No 5 is appealing for the price alone
*
I think should really consider option 5 if TM is not gonna roll out cheaper package soon. You can save about half the bill.

i'm same situation with u,pay RM 179 for 50mbps,not eligible for turbo

ask for reduce price they say cannot, upgrade to 100mbps get half speed also cannot.so just like stuck in the middle

thinking switch to TIME unless they do something on VDSL customers, like offer discount or new plan.

Not possible. TM will tell you sorry your place cannot support, and they will not do for you even if you want to have half the speed of the subscribe package.

If your area has Time coverage, think no more. Just potong and change.

Don't be so judgmental towards him laugh.gif

Anyway, note that lower quality cables tend to degrade signal quicker over distances compared to high quality ones  icon_idea.gif

In addition, longer copper cables (especially those lower quality, copper-clad ones) may mean lower signal quality over such distances, and thus result in a slower link icon_idea.gif

StuartLee2015 's slow network issue is particularly a good example here as he actually called TM's technician to fix his issue, only to find out that the issue comes from his CAT5e cable sweat.gif
*
Yea... I looked around on Harvery Norman, got one from Singapore, a brand called Mazer ( If i recall correctly ) have 1 to 10M of Cat6. But i not sure if its' good, so i hold off for now. Then another is called Easy Link, it shows Cat6 but i doubt it's quality like you all would, conclusion AC53 and DWA182

I will be getting a short one Cat6 to connect Modem to Router, or Cat5e? Brand is Prolink at Shopee.

Then the next month will be getting DIR878 if the DIR842 is not up to standards.

No lol, if Cat6 i can get 500Mbps , i wouldn't mind now, i figured how to route but not the nicest.

Update : DWA182 on AC gets me 282.45 Mpbs and 106.96 Mbps, seems pretty good ?

To all sifus,
Cannot wait for pay day to get a new router, hoping for better coverage.

My mind all set for tp link ac3150, with lots of positive comments here, but i come accross tplink ac2300, which is newer and faster processor. Anyone have any opinions about this? So is the standard ac3150 vs ac2300 matter or the processor?

I come accross this shoppee seller who claims that with padavan firmware mi3 router can be used for unifi.

Any replies will be appreciated

Doesn’t really matter, but C2300 might have issues with UnifiTV. Newest firmware could have fixed it, but it remains to be tested.

I signed up for 30M package last year for RM139, so currently still got a year's contract, I wonder if I'm eligible to change to Unifi Pro 100M for RM129 or not. Anyone switched plan before?
