Yeah it's a bit too close to be comfortable. Mine is a bit further away from hose. I suppose when your engine is cold you can always loosen the bracket screw and adjust the position, then tighten it back. Just don't force it too much else the glue give away. By the way i thought it would be easier just to change the o-ring?
*
Thanks, bro. Unfortunately Proton do not have just O-ring, that's why either glue or change the whole set.

Anyway, i have change the o-ring outside and ask them to move away from the hose. I notice they roll with white tape even after replace the o-ring. They say without the white tape won't last long.

How about radiator cap? Necessary to use back original or any OEM will do?

I notice if I touch on the cap sticker, little coolant will leak out. But if i clean it, remain untouch, no leak at all. Normal? or about time to change as well. Actually like this been quite long already.

I'm using oem. Just make sure the PSI rating is the same then you should be fine.

Ours is small head with 1.1 PSI, right? I will check the price with Proton & OEM, if not much different, then will go with original.

Another possibility is fan motor. I changed my last year. Fan start weak or no spin already, when you drive, the wind cool down the radiator so it drop back.

I changed my thermostat not long ago..

if it happen frequently, better check at nearest workshop.
Try to rotate your radiator fan with engine off, see if the fan can spin smoothly or have resistant.
I experienced this last few months, when radiator fan down, aircond still cold but car temp will rise when car stop, and the radiator coolant will spill out due to high temp, also the fan will run for sometime even after turned off car switch.

For repair, i need to change the fan motor, and also replaced the burn fuse caused by high resistant when the fan spinning.

100% confirmed it's the meter. Get it repaired. Need to change the thingy that moves the needle.

Check FB marketplace for meter repair guy. I suggest asking Gen2 group for dedicated meter guy.

my car just overheat last week, found one of the hose from the radiator cracked and leaked otw to KL. Do you change your own radiator coolant?
The last time my car overheat due to the plastic crack after replacing the workshop just refill water into the radiator.

I also faced the same problem like this before, then I ask my mechanic to really check all the piping and it seem that it has some cracked on it and also check the fins on the radiator. Change both with new parts and fill only coolant, now it is working as usual without over heating issue.
*
Thanks for all the feedback .... my overheat problem seems to be a simple one, which many people actually overlooked it. It is caused by my radiator cap, the mechanic checked and suspected it was caused by it, since he noticed some coolant at the cap there. All other things were ok, so he just replaced the cap and top up water. Driving for 2 weeks seems no overheat issue anymore.

Now another issue I'm facing after the overheat issue, is the speedometer sometimes at 0km/h. I googled and most was saying speed sensor issue. Anyone getting this problem? Might need to visit the mechanic again. sweat.gif

Might be wiring of speed sensor also. Last time i had this because of my mechanic forgot to plug it back after clutch change.

The meter. Sounds like the meter need fixing.

If its the speed sensor the car will go on limp mode.

Recently I went to some winding road trip with my MT Persona and I started to push it. (e.g. using 3rd gear to reach almost 100kph on a bend)

I noticed some power dropped in high RPM after 1+ hours of driving on the winding road especially when the weather turns hot. Does anyone feel this as well?

Just wasted a day on my persona full spec smart car key

So, I was having issue with my car key .. cannot open car door with car key ..
It's push start so I taught maybe just go in car manually and start car ..
Got in car with alarm sound .. buy cannot start car .. key not detected .. wtf

1st TIP .. use your smart car key and use it to press the start button .. it didn't work for me
So, I taught key no battery .. change the battery .. still key not detected .. wtf

So, taught key rosak ..

2nd TIP .. you can only duplicate the smart key with the car .. I cannot start the car so I cannot go duplicate key ..
either at service center or outside shop .. you need the car ..
So, need to get car tow to service center ..
Went to the outside shop they told me must have car but uncle say probably car battery kong ..

I was like .. I had no issue start car at all .. earlier .. car key was the issue .. but kanasai .. was really need to change car battery

So the stupid persona needs more power supply to detect your smart car key then actually starting the car .. hold f doh.gif

didnt really notice that, but i notice my radiator cap leaking after driving fast on winding roads, but then again that time i was using 0.9 cap instead of the 1.1.

Think all cars with internal combustion engine does that. As your engine heated it's a lot more easier to have pre-ignition. ECU will retard the timing and maybe that's why you feel not as power as it was when cold. Maybe that's the reason why people put a big fan in front of car when they doing dyno also. Just my guess.

It's better to check for your braking system for the spongy feels. But Persona CM has been associated with spongy brake AFAIK.

Leaking master pump is one possibility but you should be able to detect the leak at least from reducing braking fluid level.

Another possibility is characteristic of your brake pad, it will feel soft if it's soft type. I have changed to metal type and the feedback improved, yet the screeching before reaching operation temperature during morning drive is just annoying.

Jammed calipers usually changed one shot when you change brake pads.

Maybe you should inspect braking line as well for potential swelling when you brake.

All in all, get a trusted workshop to check. Better than guessing in dark.
