Currently using Q10Pro for more than 2 years, been waiting for successor to this modle as I am getting another unit

2 years? that's like new!

Q10pro was launched >6.5 years ago.

mine is >5 years old now.

and i still can't find another box at similar price that beats it.

it's also saying... for 6 blardy years, himedia hasn't got a worthy successor ready.... urgh...

successor model should have:

.. bigger memory+storage
.. current android version 9 or 10
.. same or better native player video+audio capabilities
.. AV1 format capable
.. HLG, HDMI2.1, USB3.1

that's all i'm asking.

Just checked mine is like 3 years 1 month old , i am still waiting for the replacement model

Previously before I upgraded to 2.1.4, I had the issue where the Time/Date Settings will always default to 2015. Then this disconnects the WiFi. But once, I set the time/date back to current, the WiFi will connect and no issue.

After I upgraded to 2.1.4, this problem was gone for like 1 to 2 months. But now it is back.

Is there a permanent solution?

If your settings r correct, it does not change.

Check date.time set to auto, correct time zone.

Also, if ethernet connect, turn wifi on as well to simulate its necessity for certain apps.

If all in order, still problem, my guess is the issue is not with box but with router/connectivity.

side info, this AM6 Plus looks good, reviewed to be better than predecessors AM6 and AM6 Pro.

will explore further if it is worth acquiring... suppose to have dolby vision, Atmos/DTSX capabilities, root switch.

according to the review, yes. DV+atmos playback.

not too sure as i had never tried it but from reviews, many new boxes can playback DV.
and they can passthru atmos too... but many cannot do ddtruehd, dtshdma.
of course, these are w/o DRM support, will not do atmos or HD for netflix.

aiya...i need DV, HRD, atmos, dts-x, ddtruehd & dtshdma for local playback...

of course u do, me too.

and bdmv full menu, autoframe rate, quality video+audio engines, root switch (to use astrogo, unifiplaytv).

which is why it is so blardy hard to find one!

Q10pro has been excellent for last 5 years; just that it can't do DV, getting old... android7.0...


i will be following this ugoos am6plus and minix u22xj, see if any one these will meet my requirements.

Dear Q10 Pro sifus. I need your opinion on this matter. I have this problem of subtitles being "stuck" on the screen after the dialogue has passed. It is only refreshed with new subtitles when the dialogue progresses, but then stuck again once the dialogue finishes. Any ideas on what I can do about it?

Yes, have seen that.

Happens with a minority embeded subs, not with others, not with srt.

Likely some new format, not decoded properly.

Little u can do about it.

But can try mx, vlc or kodi player if u wish.

I see. Now that I think of it, yes it occurs with embedded subs. Guess I'll just have to seek out srt subs then. Thanks a lot.

Does the latest software suffer with the restart from beginning each time a file is watched halfway and rewatched again later?

i just experienced it with a video with embedded subs played with vlc on pc windows!
think either some of the new sub formats are screwed up or the player apps have yet to be updated.

not that i noticed. it does resume at spot u last stopped.
check settings with the remote "menu" button.

I'm using 2.194.2/AC19.4.2/4550493 currently, keep crash

the version is correct, current.

crashing has been reported in many boxes... some get more some get less.

my own experience, q10pro does crash sometimes but after using the clean function, it will keep going for hours.

not a major problem for me, at least for now.
