china models, i hv no idea.

from the specs, it seems to a variation of the Q5pro which is 3 years old.

i will not encourage u to buy it:

.. china models, u get no support and warranty locally or from int'l distributors like futeko UK.
.. china models do not have google, youtube, chrome - u hv to find yr own way to install them.
.. china models installed apps mostly work in china only, can't work outside.
.. 2+8gb is handicapped - u will run out of storage quickly.

if u r to buy, better buy current Q10pro locally which is in'tl version, 2+16 gb, android7, firmware updates still coming.

if u can wait, new model coming year end, i hear.

how do u plan to use the box if u buy one?
*
Hi. How do i check if my Q10 Pro is China model or International model? I bought one recently in Digital Mall PJ

chances are locally sold ones are int'l.

to be sure, u can ask seller...

or u can tell me what u see:

settings, advance, device info... what is written there?
*
I went into the device info last night. Firmware 2.1.1, Android 7.0, 16GB ROM, etc. All are in English. There is access to Google Playstore and also Youtube. I think should be international version

Ok, looks like int'l box.

if u had just bought this box, the seller did not update firmware for you.

latest is 2.1.4.
*
Oh ok. Any significant improvements in your opinion? I checked on Futeko, 2.1.4 is mainly for improvements to Kodi. I'm thinking of skipping it, coz the player is working fine now. Firmware updates are stressful sweat.gif

it's fine if u do not update but one day if u find something amiss, then u have to do it.

can't remember all of it, but each update has a few minor improvements.

Thank you for your input.

Btw, I've been testing out 4K content on the Himedia Q10 Pro with Sony X7000F for the past few days. Are there any ways to check whether I'm actually viewing the content in 4K? I'm asking because both 1080P and 4K contents look really sharp. Could it be that the Himedia is upscaling the 1080P content?

there must be a button on yr tv remote to show... check it.. maybe labeled "display" or something like that.

also, whenever a video starts playing, the tv may flash the info for a couple of secs.

should be something like "2160p 24hz" or 2160p 24hz HDR" if the video is such.

if u set Q10pro at 1080p, tv will show 1080p, tv will likely upscale it.

try more videos, look carefully... there is a significant diff between 1080p vs 2160p, SDR vs HDR.

I set the Q10 Pro at 2160p.

I did try with the green "info" button on the Sony remote. It only displays the resolution info which is 3840x2160, but nothing on the refresh rate or HDR. Let me try again tonight. Thanks

Hi, I have a Q10pro.

Anyone knows how I could connect my HDD inside the docking bay to my laptop using Q10pro?

Which cable can I use?

Just to share. I'm currently using the following Orico HDD dock coz it's more convenient.

Dear Q10 Pro sifus. I need your opinion on this matter. I have this problem of subtitles being "stuck" on the screen after the dialogue has passed. It is only refreshed with new subtitles when the dialogue progresses, but then stuck again once the dialogue finishes. Any ideas on what I can do about it?

My Q10 Pro details:
Android Version 7.0
Kernel version 3.18.24
Build number HMD-2.1.1 2018-12-24 145100

Any input is much appreciated.

Yes, have seen that.

Happens with a minority embeded subs, not with others, not with srt.

Likely some new format, not decoded properly.

Little u can do about it.

But can try mx, vlc or kodi player if u wish.

I see. Now that I think of it, yes it occurs with embedded subs. Guess I'll just have to seek out srt subs then. Thanks a lot. smile.gif
