this model is an emmc model, a better one than the earlier nand one, i.e. faster.

however, the storage of 8gb... less opsys, partitioning, etc... not that much available for use.

i would advise u to stick to simple apps and not install large complex ones like kodi or torrent based ones like popcorntime.

if u install too many or big ones, the box will get sluggish, even hang.

what i wrote in previous post is based on this box which i have one too.

i am using it mainly for playback (max 1080p) and a couple of apps.

last thing - u did not mention the firmware version - u can see it at the same page u found the rest of the info... "HMD 1.0.9...."

if it is not the last one 1.0.9, best to update.

but will be difficult to find it now - this model is not supported since 2014.

When playing 4K, seem like there lil ghosting or shutter when the characters moving fast. How to solve this?

I hv not seen this on the q10 pro actually. What display do u hv? Also what is ur source? It's possible that the frame rates are mismatched but I don't recall this. AVFan was talking about this earlier, he might know how he fixed this.

Anyone still using Q1?

Should I upgrade to lollipop version? Just in case I can find one.

Hi guys, I using HiMedia H8 Lite Octa Core (1G RAM+8GB) to play 3D movie ISO 40GB file size. The video able to play by H8 but blank (black screen) screen only, I can hear the audio and subtitle running at the background. Hence my TV could detect 3D signaling sent from H8 and switch my TV into 3D mode automatically.

Tried 2 different files but same result. Is the H8 could not support the latest contents?

the videos u tried are probably 10bit which the box can't handle.

your box is entry level, 3-4 years old... time to get a new one!

What 3d tv are you using? Have you used other 3d media player before on this tv?

Also try a better quality HDMI csble.

I tried to connect TV direct into media player with normal HDMI cable but same result.

I had played 3D contents on this media player before. Maybe the latest 3D files not supported on H8 lite.

Strange, I have the 835x and even when using the 5 year old Himedia 910A (Realtek 1186) I can still play recent 3D ISO.

Sound bad for me now.

I bought Q5 Pro but doesn't resolve the problem and worse. Seem Q5 player could read the 3D iso as the LCD screen showing the play time but no video, audio and subtitle at all.

Any opinion?

Strange indeed. It seems from your statements, each time there is sound but no picture. Could it be an issue with your TV/TV setting/mediabox setting?
