QUOTE(pupupasta @ Oct 19 2018, 01:08 AM) RM1K Before u key in the amount to send, u should be able to see the name of recipient, ie the owner of the mobile phone number tied to BigPay accountImprovements for BigPay 1) Back to the fundamental question, why you want to add your friends in your BigPay account? Obviously, we want to transfer money or request for money. BigPay is not a social site for chat or make friends 2)BigPay showing a listing of "friends" from your phone address (could be outdated contacts, one time off supplier, gas service, etc ) and it is like inviting mistake to happen. I can't prevent who to add and not to add. 3) Telcos always recycle mobile# - you will never know when your old friends change their number In terms of security measure, BP should learn from the leading e-wallet Wechat. Why learn from WeChat? 1) To add a friend in WeChat, the user has to send a friend request and must be accepted by your friend ( handshake to confirm they are your friend ). 2) WeChat has a unique user ID and WeChat does not allow recycle of ID and also WeChat user will update their contact if they change phone#. This works exactly like how bank will not recycle savings account#. 3) Contacts in your WeChat account are your friends, so if mistakes happen you could recover your money. Otherwise ban them forever.... lol FYI, I called BP within a minute and requested to freeze the amount for dispute but the CS said need to discuss with her Team Leader who will step into office at 9am. She rest assured me that i could recover my money as long as i have filed the dispute form - keeping my fingers crossed. @BigPayJonathan please help! QUOTE(touristking @ Oct 19 2018, 03:25 PM) I couldn't see the mobile number. All I see is several with the same name like "Robert" and don't know which one is the correct ones. No mobile number will be shown, it will only show full name eg, if u allow to sync ur contact to BigPay acc, then u will see those contact based on ur save name in ur phone b4 u choose who to send that appear in the list. Then once u select either one of ur contact, at the amount to send, it will display the full name of the acc holder. Eg, I save my colleague name as ABC - Victor in my contact list and it appear as ABC-Victor, but when I click on his name to send, it bring me to Amount page, above the amount will shown the full name of my friend instead of ABC-Victor |

QUOTE(touristking @ Oct 20 2018, 04:38 PM) People go by many names. They could be listed as Mr Tan or Tan A.K or Robert Tan in the contact list. But when they register with BP, they would be using their full name like Tan Ah Kow. I’m not sure about ur app display, but I believe should be same. for me using iOS phone, the name appear at the list when I want to send money is based on what I save in my contact, and when I click on the contact name, next page, ie amount page, it will display the full name of my friend. So it's confusing. Since BP have access to the phone's contact list, may be better to show both the contact list name Robert Tan AND the full name Tan Ah Kow and the photo, if any. That is why when I sent money, I will just send RM 1 and get them to confirm back. Only after that, I send the full amount. Eg. When send money, the list of contact who have BigPay display the name as per contact list, ie Robert Tan (when I save the preferred name in my contact list), BigPay app sync my contact book, so I will know who in my contact has BigPay, next page, where I need to key in the amount to send, it will display the full name, ie Tan Ah Kow. So, I confirm this is my friend, unless u dunno the full name of ur friend.. it is something like bank acc.. u can save as favorite payee name as what u like, but, if u do IBFT, it will show the full name of account holder.. For photo, it is depend on whether ur friend upload his/ her photo as profile photo.. |

QUOTE(touristking @ Oct 21 2018, 12:48 AM) Mine Android. Luckily iOS doesn’t have this problem, my app only have TAK (contact name) and Tan Ah Kow (full name). I think android got this issue, coz my friend using Huawei phone, his Boost app contact list all mess up, the phone number belongs to ABC, but suddenly, the app auto create EFG for same phone number in his contact.. so, if he want to send money to ABC, he suddenly dunno which to choose..I have sent money to a friend. After that, on my apps, I now found 3 names belonging to the same person. 1. Contact list name, TAK. I picked this name to send money to. 2. After money sent, it shows Tan Ah Kow on transaction. This must be his IC name. 3. Robert Tan. No idea where that came from, probably from his Facebook? It is a mess. |

QUOTE(spyrr @ Oct 21 2018, 11:18 AM) No. 3 is the preferred name that your friend set under account setting. I agree with you it's a mess. BigPay app should show contact list name AND IC name right before you confirm the transaction. The number in contact list is an old number no longer used by my friend. The number is recycled and the new owner register it for Boost app. That's what happen to me, the number tied to my friend in my contact list but Boost shows another name. QUOTE(touristking @ Oct 21 2018, 12:54 PM) He only use ONE name to set up his BP account, the IC name (Tan Ah Kow). I don't think BP will accept any other name like Robert Tan beside the IC name. That is why I say I have no idea where that Robert Tan name came from and that raises an important issue, what else does BP know that we don't? What other data are they accessing that we don't know about? Oh, now, I know where is the Robert Tan come from.. it is the preferred name this Tan Ah Kow set in his BigPay acc.. u go to ur profile > personal details, u will able to set ur own preferred name..BP should display these simultaneously when sending money: 1. TAK because we are familiar with this name and this is the name in our contact list. 2. The full IC name, Tan Ah Kow. 3. The phone number. IC number are private and shouldn't be shown. QUOTE(touristking @ Oct 21 2018, 05:58 PM) Nope. But in his own phone, he calls himself Robert Tan. Just checked. U mean ur friend didn’t even set preferred name in the BigPay as Robert Tan? Then really weird that BigPay able to sync his phone name.So now we seem to have all these 3 different name belonging to the same person all appearing in Bigpay. 1. Your contact list as TAK 2. His BP registration name of Tan Ah Kow. 3. He call himself Robert Tan in his phone. And we don't get to see his phone number in BP. This is indeed a mess. Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(boonhan @ Oct 24 2018, 03:15 PM) You are lucky. Last time i mistake transferred, bigpay cannot help. They ask me call the person to ask it back. Which of course the first thing i did after notice the problem. Then about 2 or 3 days later, bigpay replied me that nothing they can do. Transferring via phone number is a problem. My friend nickname not displayed in the app, only their full name which i dont know. Same thing will happen with duitnow, if someone get my old number, if transferring without knowing the name. Good luck to that guy. QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 24 2018, 03:19 PM) BigPay also will display full name. But, boonhan said he dunno his friend full name.. he expect BigPay to show nickname instead?QUOTE(Barricade @ Oct 24 2018, 05:14 PM) As I know, Boost will display the name the recipient put in his/her boost acc.. I have once notice my friend name is different with his real name.. then when I asked him, he said he also just notice his name got typo, then he amended it, after that I can see the amended name when I try to transfer again.. |

QUOTE(spyrr @ Oct 24 2018, 11:38 PM) Boost shows your phonebook name AND Boost registered name (presumably name on the IC) side by side when you select the name and then shows the registered name when you key in the amount. BigPay shows only your phonebook name when you select and key in the amount. BigPay registered name will only appear in the transaction list, AFTER you send the money. You will see the problem when your friend changed their number and your phone book is not updated. QUOTE(mamamia @ Oct 24 2018, 06:22 PM) BigPay also will display full name. But, boonhan said he dunno his friend full name.. he expect BigPay to show nickname instead? As mentioned in my post above u, when I send money to my friend, BigPay will display Full Name of the my friend b4 I key in amount.. if ur one not showing, will it be bug? Bigpayjonathan, can u confirm this is the feature of BigPay?As I know, Boost will display the name the recipient put in his/her boost acc.. I have once notice my friend name is different with his real name.. then when I asked him, he said he also just notice his name got typo, then he amended it, after that I can see the amended name when I try to transfer again.. |

Try to pay agoda booking via agoda app, after key in OTP, it show payment not successful, ask me pay with another card..
Change card to pay, payment straight went through without issue.. don’t bother to try again with BigPay as it is peak period stay, worry later price increase.. |

QUOTE(touristking @ Oct 28 2018, 04:52 PM) I have noticed. For past couple of days and spending a couple of thousand, my total points (11K) stays the same despite getting messages saying there are additional points. Is there a limit of how many points the apps can handle? My point more than 11k, still showing.. but slow in update, maybe need 3-5 working days after it appear in the list of point..Same. BP can't be used. QUOTE(fairylord @ Oct 28 2018, 05:18 PM) I pernah used terminal before. GHL, Alliance version. It just mentioned payment not successful, ask me to use other card.. so, since touristking also has same issue, I think we can put it to first post until someone reported they can use it for agoda.. as normally I will use amex for agoda, but since this month my amex is fully use up, I try on BigPay for first time..You need to select whether is Credit or Debit only, very seldom it has Prepaid as option. I never swipe Prepaid for customer, so unsure what merchants selected while i swiped at their store. Did not ask though. Master/Visa only need to record to POS system for record, the terminal basically able to differentiate whether the card is visa or master. Hmm...So Agoda is not BO friendly? If more confirmation, then i will add it to the list on Post #01. |

QUOTE(BigPayJonathan @ Nov 5 2018, 01:12 PM) Sorry, trying to understand all scenarios here! Yes, if BigPay charge 2% fee (as 1 of the user reported recently) I will not use BigPay for oversea txn as bank credit card charge lower than 2% on top of the VISA/Master exchange rate. Where some credit card do provide cashback to cover the fee charged.Your regular bank will charge you anything between 1 to 5% of mark-up fee on top of their exchange rates when paying in a foreign currency. What are the objective reasons why you'd want to pay with a different card than BigPay? Just cashback / rewards? QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 5 2018, 01:37 PM) Actually I have used few times for BigPay linked from Alipay, rate is as good as XE.com. Yes, I was using BigPay for taobao purchase and the rate always follow XE.. but, since got someone reported that the rate is 2% higher than MasterCard rate, then I wonder is it BigPay start to imposed 2% fee.. I hope it is not but someone reported it.. maybe others who have recently done foreign rate purchase could share their rates too.. Of course after adding in the standard 3% and no more additional. Looks like I will need to try soon. Else, if BigPay really charge 2% fee, I think I will stick back to credit card which charge only 1.25% - 2% such as PBB |

QUOTE(Lifeblurboi @ Nov 3 2018, 08:28 AM) Hi guys, did bigPay have charges on oversea transaction? I did swipe one transaction in China on November 1 , which is RMB 800 ( MYR 479.65) , and the initial currency rate was RM 59.95 per RMB 100. And I have constantly checked the currency on November 2 and 3, the currency rate is at Myr 60.4 per RMB 100. However today ( November 3) , the transaction final settle is MYR 495.53. Which equivalent to MYR61.94 per RMB 100, that’s a huge difference in currency. Anyone has any idea on this? QUOTE(Lingohal @ Nov 5 2018, 07:25 PM) My recent transaction to ctrip: Yeah, thanks for ur sharing.. so, it seem Lifeblurboi is isolated case as my previous experience with BigPay on Taobao is also 0% feeOct 28 CNY140 (MYR84.15) settled at MYR84.19 (CNY100=MYR60.135) Nov 2 CNY356 (MYR213.15) settled at MYR216.15 (CNY100=MYR60.716) I've used the mastercard conversion rate to check with 0% bank fee and it's exactly the same amount charged. PBB would have charged 1.25% bank fee. |

With this kind of discrepancy recently, I would strongly support 1 forummer who asked for display of posting date..Also provided few screenshot of my transaction details. 1. Yesterday pending rate = 3.015 2. Today Settle rate = 3.035 3. Yesterday Master Card Rate = 3.012 I realized that 2 days back the Master Card rate was 3.035 as well, perhaps they follow the wrong date Master Card rate. |
