Speaking of the i-stop feature, my will engage when I press the break hard enough. Usually it will engage in red lights and junctions stops and so on which is fine. However, when I release the break a little then the engine starts again. Which is only like 10 secs. I wondering does this actually save fuel or not.

Also, I tried pressing the break hard but the damn engine still starts by itself after like 10-15 secs. Also tried engaging the "handbrake". Engine still starts after some time.

Is that how i-stop works?

iStop max is 2 mins but it depend on outside temperature... normally max 2 mins only work during early morning or evening onward but if noon or afternoon w/ hot weather then the discharge will be superb fast which only work for 10-20s...

Of cause your AC temp also play main role, do set it to 23-25C for better iStop activation.

a lot of condition that determine if your istop is going to kick in. If its only 10-15 sec then its negligible for your fuel saving. The istop will work for maximum for 1 mins to 2 mins max. Once your ac temp is raise then it will kick start or when u release ur brake pedal.

Are you a fan of i-stop? i am not.. the EFB battery is difficult to be charged. If you are driving in short distance everyday, your battery will not get proper charge. If the temperature of the battery reaches 45 deg celcius, it doesnt charge for safety purpose. When your battery doesnt get charged up properly and it gets discharge over time sulfation happened and it will reduce ur battery holding power capacity. That's why a lot of owner will required to change the battery every year or every 1.5 year and the price of the battery is not cheap.

Thanks! That's a nice insight. So far I am not liking istop. If the savings are negligible then I will turn it off. Problems is, everytime you start the car you need to manually turn it off. Most of my stops are very short anyway. Probably I will try istop once on and once off for each full tank. This should show how much savings I am actually achieving.

Can... Speaking on the diesel variant.. Suspect it's the same for the petrol as well.. There should be some leftover "reserve" fuel in the tank even aafter the range becomes zero. I know cuz one time i pumped with just 15km left on the range meter.. Yet, only managed to get in about 49L (second pump click).. With a 56L tank, means left at least 7L left. More than enough to make an additional 80 - 105km. But I don't risk it as it's a diesel engine. Don't want it to empty while on the road and stop by itself..
*
Yeah, i thought of that too theoritically but don't dare to try it with the diesel engine... 😂

Hi guys, I heard the new 2019 CX-5 will offer CarPlay. Will this feature be updated to us for the current gen CZ-5 models?

Other countries Mazda willing to update their existing customers for CarPlay. 🤔

The one offered with apple carplay is CX-9.

The Bermaz just revised their variant weeks ago, i dont think they will give anymore updates until mid or end of 2019.

I know a couple of friends who work in SC and SA, no one can answer that too.

they still need to work on ur paperwork after you confirm the booking. I mean mostly they dont hardsell their car... a lot of those who looks for mazda already familiar with the car else nobody would spend extra to buy mazda while you have honda and toyota. blush.gif

At last got my car: Jet Black 2.0 GLS

Am very happy with the color eventho not my 1st choice color.

Been waiting for 4 months plus! biggrin.gif

Some stuff:

1/ Able to get refund for the premium color paid & use that money for the power tailgate that comes with the car. Been told by SA the 1st few batch doesnt have the anti-pinch function. Mine fortunately got the anti-pinch function. No kick sensor.

2/ Upgraded tint to Llumar P4-35.

3/ Loving the driving dynamics so far. 2.0 is enough for my style of driving biggrin.gif

4/ Plan to get a dash cam: Viofo a129 dual channel dash cam.

5/ Will drive the car for few months before deciding to upgrade other stuff: audio system, wheels etc.

indeed, most SA only doing the paper works and explain some functions when you collect your car.

After days of driving my car, unfortunately I have experiencing rattling sound coming from the engine or middle of the dashboard.

Will go for a check like what admin Duckies advised

3. Vibrating or sound front engine
- Possible engine mounting. Proceed to consult SC for a fix.

Will this check takes alot of time?
