QUOTE(abubin @ Oct 17 2018, 11:48 AM)
Speaking of the i-stop feature, my will engage when I press the break hard enough. Usually it will engage in red lights and junctions stops and so on which is fine. However, when I release the break a little then the engine starts again. Which is only like 10 secs. I wondering does this actually save fuel or not.

Also, I tried pressing the break hard but the damn engine still starts by itself after like 10-15 secs. Also tried engaging the "handbrake". Engine still starts after some time.

Is that how i-stop works?
*
a lot of condition that determine if your istop is going to kick in. If its only 10-15 sec then its negligible for your fuel saving. The istop will work for maximum for 1 mins to 2 mins max. Once your ac temp is raise then it will kick start or when u release ur brake pedal.

Are you a fan of i-stop? i am not.. the EFB battery is difficult to be charged. If you are driving in short distance everyday, your battery will not get proper charge. If the temperature of the battery reaches 45 deg celcius, it doesnt charge for safety purpose. When your battery doesnt get charged up properly and it gets discharge over time sulfation happened and it will reduce ur battery holding power capacity. That's why a lot of owner will required to change the battery every year or every 1.5 year and the price of the battery is not cheap.

they still need to work on ur paperwork after you confirm the booking. I mean mostly they dont hardsell their car... a lot of those who looks for mazda already familiar with the car else nobody would spend extra to buy mazda while you have honda and toyota. blush.gif

indeed, most SA only doing the paper works and explain some functions when you collect your car.
by the way, how you guys take care of the dashboard and the leather? using any cleaner or protector? the dashboard color of mine looks dim like fading... sad.gif
*
dull or fading? if fading make sure ur dashboard are covered under sun. expose to too much sun is not good for your dashboard and steering wheel. The first is going to worn out is the steering wheel. the leather will start peeling off. The dashboard will not last long also.. bye.gif

Thank you bro for the recommendation.

I am actually worried that i could have bought some redundant wax products.

So is it i just buy Gold Class Quik Wax rather than Ultimate Quik Wax?

I am desperate for water beading surface as i always drive pass construction area, with big lorries carrying red soil. my hardwork of washing will become wasted...
*
Gold Class will give u better shine Ultimate will give u better lasting.. but Quik Wax doesnt build for long lasting. Need manual waxing to provide better lasting.. Quik Wax is more to add on for finishing. For Malaysia weather it hadly last more than 2 weeks per application.

Woah...Gold Class is RM4X more expensive than Quik Wax.

If Gold Class is sustain against weather than the Quik Wax then only it is bang for the buck..
*
all Quik product doesnt last in our weather.. it has to be applied every wax every 2-3 months then use these quik product for best shining and water beading effect. i used to do it on my small car but CX is not small so i send it for coating rather than waxing it myself flex.gif

Battery not under warranty right?

After battery kong, we should go buy our own battery right?  hmm.gif
*
here is where the funny parts come in.. battery for petrol come with at least 1 year of warranty..
before warranty ends SC either says nothing/says nothing wrong with the battery. but once the battery out of warranty d the SC comes to show me the battery reading says my battery is out.. even though i havent see christmas light.

Hahahah. Every SC also same like that.
Mine petrol spec, but i rarely use iStop, so will definitely get past the 1 yr warranty period.  smile.gif
*
if u r driving it on daily basis and cover certain distance per drive your battery should be healthy.. mine is not a daily driven.. so i use a battery conditioner to ensure that the battery doesnt get discharged too much over time

Stock battery that comes with the car has 1 year or 20k km warranty, WHICHEVER comes first.
After that, once you buy your own batteries, some come with 12 mth, 18 mth, 30k km, and so forth.

My 2.2D already 14 months old and mileage already 36k km.
Battery life is still good as my daily drive easily clock 80-90 km on DUKE and NKVE
*
your 2.2D also have 1 year battery warranty? confused.gif

Alright, I will get Amaron first.
How much i need to shove out for a Amaron battery for petrol spec?
*
both amaron and varta now belongs to the same company under Johnson control
amaron they do not have Q85 type earlier. now i think they have this already. Just ensure you are getting the Q85 type. Pricing i remember i read it somewhere cheaper than varta but not like a lot.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Can't remember how much.. Last time for previous car.. I got from batteriku.. The Amaron came with 18 months unlimited mileage warranty from date of installation. I traded in the dead battery and I loved the fact that they came to me instead of I having to hunt here and there for best price. But of course, I delayed and car finally refused to start. So if you can get a better deal before it does that.. Better. If their service is still operational when it's time to switch mine? I intend to still go with them unless can find far more cheaper elsewhere..

Both petrol and diesel variants don't use the same battery type meh?  hmm.gif.. Prices will depend on the CCA and RC rating.. Typically, the higher the more expensive. Also must be the type specified for istop.
*
petrol and diesel different.. diesel required more power to power the glow plugs thats why under normal circumstances the warranty for battery meant for diesel vehicle only for 6 months

That's what the SC at Glenmarie told me when I queried him on my battery warranty.

Abit confused here.. would like to ask.. why is the semi synthetic in service centre 5w30 but the fully synthetic is 5w40?

I thought the lesser value is better? 🤔
*
its the same like comparing persona 1.6 vs vios 1.5
in general 1.6 > 1.5 at any time. But will u take persona over vios?

Considering the cost of FS 5w40 and you r right the rating lower the vicousity better. But its a different grade between FS and SS. If you got budget go for 0W30 Shell Helix Ultra from your SC.
