PPF on shift panel? Need or not You can put the shift panel cover, should cost 100 if get from tao bao, 200 from shopee.

Haha. I thought so too but when i consult my SA she recommend me to do ppf on it. And also, i prefer the black panel instead of the taobao cover.

Refer to my link above. Can buy and just cover it if you hate seeing the scratches. But if you hate the taobao cover, I've no alternatives already. Don't know if we can do PPF on it

Initially I plan to buy the cover to protect the shift panel but I like how the raw piano black panel looks like. So I gave up the idea It's very prone to dust and scratches and I have to wipe it frequently

So now it is still raw piano black and not covered?
I tried to clean the finger prints off the panel today, d*mn it scratches the panel even more. It is super prone ro scatches i can say!

Wipe with those micro fiber clothes. The one that people use to wipe the car clean after washing.

just made a booking after thinking many months, for the barebones 2.0 GL
maybe just share abit why:
1. no budget - have a fixed budget for monthly instalments, so cannot take a 90% loan, nor do I want a 9 year loan, currently DP is looking at a cool 30k+, so going for GLS would incur additional 13k..that's like a 10% dp for an E-class
2. it's a second car, hence why budget is an issue, but why maybe able to forgo some of the bells and whistles
3. daily use features that I will have to forgo: keyless entry, front parking sensor, soft touch centre console area (where your thigh would get in contact with) and active safety features
4. other extras are nice to have but not important (leather seat, power driver seat, adaptive led, etc)

on the other hand, still get same passive safety and convenience features (cruise control, bluetooth, auto wiper/lights), so still acceptable

in an ideal world, of course I'd go for the GLS (tried 2.5 and 2.2, and my main ride has about 200ps too, so definitely can't argue on power) but oh well, priorities, priorities

I don't like either of those looks at all. Much prefer the stock look.. More elegant. Of course, now it's still pretty and flawless.. Thanks to no kids allowed in front and meticulous upkeep by moi... Perhaps, in future when it's gathered enough scratches to verify unsightly, then I'll cove ritual up. Hopefully by then, other nicer looking designs will be available.

Get a good quality and soft microfiber cloth, keep permanently in the armrest box or so.. I even repurposed a smaller soft black cloth to place in the pocket area in front of the gear lever area. So stuffs placed there won't scratch the bottom. Now, can throw keys and smart tag there without fear.

Good on you. Now the knuckle biting waiting begins.
