A lot of videos files, dvd included look real crappy on widescreens that's 24 inches because the limited "width x height" is stretched far beyond what it was originally intended for.

So until everything gets encoded in HD, what's a good workaround to make viewing these legacy video files more bearable?

Not sure what are u trying to say... sweat.gif

Izzit u meant the ratio size?... for example DVD movies (widescreen aspect) will look 'stretched' on LCD monitor rite?...

Btw, it doesnt matter whether its 24inch monitors...

Afaik, all widescreen monitors are 16:10 ratio widescreen, wherelse mostly widescreen movies are 16:9 or even wider aspect ratio.

Sure it will look 'scretched', but at least it a widescreen monitor will look much better compared to yer typical non-widescreen monitors which its 4:3 or 5:4... tongue.gif

I gotta say at times i pretty much pissed-off abt..
"WHY IN THE WORLD THEY MAKE LCD MONITOR (16:10) ASPECT RATIO DIFFERENT TO LCD TV (which its 16:9)!?..."
... okok.. rant off tongue.gif

Cheers smile.gif

What he meant is all most of the video files are in eg. 640x480 where 24" resolution is 19xx , doesnt matter widescreen or not

Well if u ask me , it would be take too long to encode a video in such a large resolution (even HD format is not 19xx) and takes too much processing power when viewing smile.gif

http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1064635

Is there any other comparison for LCD size??

I want to see and compare the size of 19" normal, 19" wide, 20" wide and 22" wide. Wanna see how big improvement is compared to 19" flat panel (i'm using that now)...

The picture there only have 20.1", 21" and straight away to 23" for wide...

[can someone clarify since we can get LCD TV that can display input from the PC, why do we still want to buy LCD monitor

is it because of the price? or some technical differences? What is the reason

ALso what is the pro and cons using LCD monitor for PC compare to using LCD TV?

That looks like a normal amount of backlight bleed to me. I doubt that backlight bleeding is covered by warranty though, it's pretty much accepted as par for the course with the 22 inch monitors. Gotta be a reason why they're 1k cheaper than the 24 inchers right? Couldn't hurt to try though.

That is because LCD TV's resolution is low. Imagine running 1366x768 on a 32" or even larger LCD TV. Huge screen, but abysmal font quality. Try comparing that to my ACD 30" resolution at 2560 x 1600, I can view 4 x lowyat.net full screen page at one screen.

2. iirc, dell accept bank draft (?) they'll come to your home and collect it. better call dell and ask them about it. smile.gif

DELL will accept bankdraft, as long as the name of recipient is correctly written. I bought my one by using bankdraft. And they did provide collecting service. So all u need to do is just call/click on net, place order, they come get ur payment, then deliver the LCD to you.

By the way, don't know got anyone mentioned before, DELL just come out a new 19" wide screen LCD, look cool, but i wonder the resolution nice or not ...
