RU7100 can support 5ghz wifi but NU7100 can support only 2.5ghz? That's the only difference i notice haha

Quite sharp to be able to pick this up. Damn it, a very old tvbox has long be able to do 5GHz but this NU7100 only able to do 2.4 GHz ....

But this 5GHz can cost you RM1000 additional for a 55 inch TV....

My 49inch 4k old model LG UH610T also can connect 5ghz dy I dont know why 7100 cant connect LOL

Check what is ur nu8000 version at the moment. There is new update released on april and got updated automatically.
Some features been disabled..example.self diagnosis..
Also the update is disabled so can't select it.
Does that mean no more update after this ?

Previously i able to see both option enabled and you can simply click that update option anytime..

wRGB is not the same as RGBW . The UK6500 is neither .

If a menu setting is grayed out, this does not indicate that something is wrong with your TV. It’s because certain conditions for those settings are not being met. For example, if your TV is not connected to the internet, the settings for Software Update or Contact Support will be grayed out, since these require an active internet connection. It is aways a good idea to keep your firmware up to date. See below for some examples of settings or conditions that will disable additional settings.

Disabled Settings

    If Picture Mode is grayed out, HDR + is enabled.

    If Auto Program is grayed out, there is no coaxial cable connected to the TV.

    If Game Mode is grayed out, there is no Game Console connected to the TV.

    If Film Mode is grayed out, the input signal is not TV, AV, Component (480i or 1080i), or HDMI (1080i).

    If Software Update is grayed out, the TV is not connected to Internet.

    If Contact Support is grayed out, the TV is not connected to Internet.

There is no reason not to get a 4k TV right now especially if you expect the TV to last more than 2  years .

At your budget you can get This for $3499 or  This for $3399 . The Sony TV is a little bit brighter but I don't think your parent will notice the difference under normal viewing environment.
Of course , you don't have to buy from these two specific merchant and I am not affiliated with them , I merely link them for price reference.

Then something is faulty there and you can't even do a factory reset on the TV without going into the "Self Diagnosis" menu.
Perhaps the latest update did not finish properly and left a few files corrupted.
I got a trick for you to try on  , which worked on my MU7000 back then.  Head to General system -> System Manager -> Switch to Retail mode -> Go back to Self Diagnosis -> Reset TV.

If this doesn't work then you will have to speak to their Customer Service .
Nope I have not have measured a HAIER TV before but if a TV is priced at much lower than its competition , it will have to compromise somehow . It is a simple give and take  .
The trade-offs may not be immediately visible but in the long run they are going to haunt you .

So unless you really want to save on budget and don't care about what you're watching , I don't recommend it.

Anyone here using LG 55UK7500 series? Can share experience? Is it 2018 model or 2019?

Hisense H8F series seems promising. Android TV, local dimming, Dolby Vision. Starting at 400usd for 50". Reviews seems to say that they perform well above the price point. But seems like it's not available here yet.
