buy ticket to blizzcon is for u to join in the party, not for purchasing the beta key anyway.
i bet there are aggrement (which i doubt anyone will read it) wen u installing the game.
Most of them (MMO or on9 games) stated that all in-game stuff are property of their company and u cannot sell it to other ppl
ofcourse if u sell them under the table no one will know or care for it
selling key like SC2 beta key at ebay is totally illegal~

i just hope anyone can understand the term and condition in the legal way.

As long as people are willing to pay for what is just a beta key...they will do stuff like this...It is very hard for Blizzard to look into this...and e-bay...things can happen undertable...All I can say is that think properly when you want to buy something and understand what you are getting into.

Sometimes I wish that fans had more discipline to stand up to people taking advantage of them...And I bet the fans that bought them...don't see it that way.

But you missed the fact that Blizzard announce some of goodies you can expect to get when you attend Blizzcon. People already know they'll get Beta key if they attend Blizzcon. The only thing they didn't know is what game that beta key are for. 2007 is for WotLK, 2008 is for Starcraft 2, and 2009 maybe for Diablo 3 or Blizzard new IP. You can expect more Diablo fans to attend Blizzcon this year. But not everyone live in the US. How much two-way airplane tickets to US alone would cost? Even if they live in east coast US the traveling cost is still a burden for students for example.

Agreement when installing the game? The game or beta have yet to be released by Blizzard. How many times i have to repeat, the key itself is not a beta key.

Just a beta key? For you it is, but you can't say the same for everyone.

People taking advantage from free stuff? If i went to England and somehow met Steven Gerrard and he gave me his signature on my Liverpool jersey. Does that means selling that jersey in Malaysia for higher price is considered 'taking advantage'? As long as people are willing to pay for what is just a signature, why not?

Thank god there is price tag on Blizzcon card in circulation. It controls the supply. If it had no value people would throw it away, there would be no beta key in circulation. What made you think someone from the states would go through so much hassle giving the key to someone from France for free. If it were me, i would ask my friends if any of them want it. If no one wants i would just throw it away or use the key and only play the beta for 5 hours without even giving some contribution towards game development.

Both of you go to battle.net official forum and search "buying beta key". There are lots of discussion about the price on beta key and how it wass sold on e-bay. So far Blizzard said nothing while people are discussing it right under their nose.

Concerning the legality, why bother about it so much since Blizzard themselves let this slip. Blizzard also don't want to piss their customer. Those who bought beta key are the most likely to buy the trilogy. Those who bought beta key also meant serious business and are likely to contribute to the development, which is the reason for beta test in the first place.

Technically the current Starcraft: Broodwar ladder iCCup is also illegal. Because it's hosted on private server. But everyone play there including top foreigners and some Korean pro-gamers. The rank of iCCup is the standard skill measurement for Starcraft players nowadays. Some big foreign starcraft tournament qualifier are also hosted on iCCup(TSL and ESWC masters qualifier). Like you said it's a bit on grey area, because Blizzard overlook this matter and said nothing.

Why don't you try this. Go to teamliquid.net or iCCup forum then tell them to stop to play Starcraft on iCCup.

You know why i defend the legality of selling Starcraft 2 beta key so much? So that mods will overlook this in the future and make it discussable. Technically discussing Starcraft in this forum is impossible, since iCCUp is Starcraft and Starcraft is iCCup. There would be no discussion without mentioning iCCup. This forum rules state that discussion about private server are not allowed. Of course maybe mods will allow them if they're well informed on how Starcraft world works. That's the point of my argument, to tell people its ok.

If you can play CoD 4 i don think you need a new pc. Starcraft 2 is 2 years backward in graphic department, even in alpha, lol.
But rest assured other than graphic, Starcraft 2 is way ahead of time.

Stuff fans discussed and want to be incorporated into SC2(Blizzard listens):
-Play from replay.
-Replay rewind.
-1st person view replay like the old SC penguin plugin.
-Retain, map saved into replay like SC(Watching replay in WC3 is a b****).
-Color blind support(1 out of 10 Caucasian male have RG colorblind).
-Build in replay manager, like search funtion and replay info(Player, Date, Duration, Spawn position, Winner, APM, Saved comment)


I love Dark Pylon(one of New Macro Mechanics), Proton Charge fixes automine and MBS bullshit for protoss.
Good players won't miss a single cycle of the Proton Charge, even with 4 running base. (Since they did almost the same thing in SC without automine and MBS).

Dark Pylon: Proton Charge
An area-of-effect ability that makes all targeted Probes gather one additional mineral per trip when collecting resources.(20% extra mineral)

Queen: Spawn Larva
Targets a Hatchery (or its upgrades), and causes four eggs to appear on the Hatchery. After some time, four new Larva spawn from the eggs. While a Hatchery hosts 3 or more Larva, the Hatchery will not spawn additional Larva. This ability can not be cast again on the same Hatchery while the eggs are present, but can be cast after they become Larva. This allows the player to have indefinitely many Larva at once

Orbital Command: Calldown Mule
It can gather resources, repair units and buildings, and attack just like an SCV, but can not build buildings, and has a timed life. Mules can mine a mineral field with an SCV simultaneously, and carries more resources per trip.

All skills above requires you to change screen to respective location and cast it manually. New Macro Mechanics are great, they cancel casual gamers advantage from MBS and Automine. Of course casual gamers don't see it that way, that's the best part because they won't object.

Those ideas are not from Blizzard alone, many people contribute to this creative ideas. All of this are made possible because Blizzard announce the game way ahead of their scheduled release. They let you participate in the game development. Almost half of the stuff in SC 2 came from fans idea. Did Relic ask DoW players about their decision to remove macro in DoW 2?

Those who complained about Blizzard unorthodox approach of release date should think again!!!

They never really listen to the community.If they ask about the removal of macro,i think most of the old players will object it.The reaction i expect is gonna be even worse than Blizzard's MBS.At least the lower end players actually like the MBS.The pros dont.

Even EA is better than them now.

At least they release the changelog early and let the fans comment on it.Then,they only start working on the patch.Also release a SP only expansion so that the new units dont ruin the existing balance.

Some of the balance changes were based on the top player's comment.
