The screenies look very good almost on par with World of Conflict with a tad bit more cartoony. I always feel that Blizzard games have their own style of graphics in comparison with all the games in the market.

In addition, the screenies look as if they were design for FPS market. Hmmm, Ghost? Anyone.

It's long time coming, Starcraft 2 might just be the official 'sport' in Korea again.

Here's for hoping.
*
I think what he meant is the graphics in SC2 looks excellent just like WiC but in its own way...Both very different style.

Can we keep from briging Dota into this thread? doh.gif . Keep discussion whether dota should be ported to starcraft 2 or anything about DOta to the Dota threads please. Starcraft 2 is not Dota or even Warcraft 3(even if it looks slightly similar).

what are you talking about!? dota is the best mmorpg created by blizzard!
i don't know frags, maybe they should keep WoW discussion in WoW boards too
*
This thread is about Starcraft 2. Not Warcraft 3 Not WoW and certainly not Dota. People come in to this thread expecting some released information about the game and not see mindless rants and raves about dota.

So please...Starcraft 2.

If every single thing is design for the pro, what about the average gamers? They dont have to play SC2 and play some other RTS?

Seriously, whats wrong with automine? It's a freaking common feature in any RTS now. It's just like Rally Point in any RTS.

The more i see SC2,the more i feel it's only for the pros.Everything is tailored for them.Even Khaydarin Crystals needs to be team coloured because of them. doh.gif
*
Ahh the debate of building for the pros or the masses tongue.gif I think the final game should be one balanced between the two...it cant go to much into one side.

Kotaku featured this:

http://kotaku.com/392875/these-are-suppose...2s-system-specs
QUOTE
Could be. Then again, even the most official system specs are liable to have their goalposts moved a little this far out from release, so consider these unconfirmed ones more of a rough guide than a definite listing of all the new hardware you may or may not need later this year.

Minumum Requirements
GFX: GeForce 7/8 Series or Radeon 1000/2000 with 256 MB RAM
CPU: Pentium 4
RAM: 1 GB
Internet: ADSL 1 Mbit

Recommended Requirements
GFX: GeForce 8000 or Radeon 2000 series with 512 MB RAM
CPU: Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2.
RAM: 2 GB
Internet: ADSL 3 Mbit

These were obtained by Spanish mag Micromania, after a visit to Blizzard's offices. As such, I'm just going to class them as "official estimates", confirm my PC can run the recommended specs, then get on with my "waiting for Starcraft 2" candlelight vigil.

Unfortunately squashed by blizzard(or rather fortunately):
http://pc.ign.com/articles/876/876096p1.html
QUOTE
A Blizzard representative told IGN, "Blizzard has not released final, official system requirements for StarCraft II. The numbers you're seeing are a result of independent speculation from a Spanish game magazine."

For those who aren't up to date with hardware specs, these are fairly beefy hardware requirements as far as Blizzard games go, which usually cater towards a wide range of PCs.

let`s just hope the game release end of the year _-_......and december??@@
*
QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Jun 4 2008, 05:53 PM)
Seriously,December is definitely no chance at all.

Blizzard loves to take their time and finish the game.Nothing's fixed yet, from what i read from the Q&A batches.Almost each batch got some drastic changes to one of the race. The last one is Mothership role change.

Hope is the first step on the road of disappointment.
*
There is a reason why Blizzard has not announced a date yet...It may not be apparent for some but the game is anything BUT finished. Dont kid yourself and hope for a release this year when the company making it isn't even thinking about commiting to a release date yet.

Trust me...while the game may looked finished in a lot of the demos...there is a lot in game development they will have to do...like cheesenium said...balance is a huge part of blizzard development process...they do take their time with it...but in the end, the promise is a more well balanced RTS. Not to mention, SP campaigns, cutscenes, network code, multiplayer lobby, writing the story, focus testing, and of course...the biggest headache for any developer QA. And this is just related to developing the game itself and excluding the stuff they have to do for marketing the game.

Really doubt that one is true.

The game is still far far from being complete.
*
Naah as usual these retailers will put out release date out of their ass... doh.gif It is to maintain ppls interest...if people see TBA then some people will just forget(not hardcore fans but mainstream casuals). If they see some release date then even if it is not released they might pick up something else they feel is similar to this game. Marketing psychology thingie.

Activision Confirms StarCraft II for 2009
2nd Sep 2008 03:55 AM GMT

Activision are currently having the time of their lives, with Blizzard and themselves joining hand in one of the now biggest gaming companies around. Activision Blizzard are currently holding the Activate Asia Pacific conference in Auckland New Zealand to show their sales prowess from the Christmas line-up to regional representatives of retailers. In the fray, Managing Director Philip Earl made quite bold predictions about market shares for the upcoming Christmas, including sales of Wrath of the Lich King.

The interesting fact with this presentation is that while we recently got confirmation that StarCraft II won't be joining us for the Christmas of 2008, we WILL be seeing StarCraft II sometime during 2009.

Next year's offerings from Activision Blizzard should include highly anticipated PC strategy title StarCraft II, the sequel to one of the world's most enduringly popular games.

While this isn't a bold statement by any measure, it's nice to hear that communication inside the massive company talks in the terms of "2009" rather than "sometime in the distant future". Most predictions of StarCraft II's release date range around 2009, so fans will not get overly surprised by this announcement. Seeing how the release schedule for Diablo II is at least slightly linked to that of StarCraft II, there are probably plenty of Diablo fans out there that are happy to know this.

A word of caution though! Even though Activision Blizzard owns Blizzard, they have always been a very independent company, regardless of owners, and could very well hold StarCraft back to 2010 just to prove us wrong...

I won't be buying this at all. Lame ass rape attempt just to try to rush to DoW 2.
Too bad DoW 2 actually has good graphics, doesn't want to try to charge you for Battle.net, and the original game will actually be ENOUGH to play for a long time (they finish the game before even thinking of expansions- THAT'S the difference).
*
Wait what? Blizzard is going to charge us for Battle.net separately? There is a subscription or something? I haven't heard of this where did you hear this?

So the first SC2 faction is for Terran campaign Wings of Liberty. So we only see Terran in the 1st product? Only multiplayer is Terran fighting itself?

All races are available for multiplayer. The expansions packs will or should i say might add new units for the races. All races are unlocked for multiplayer.

Oh boy i think i found where this rumour comes from:

http://www.cinemablend.com/games/BlizzCon-...Fees-12751.html

QUOTE
BlizzCon 08: New Battle.Net Will Have Fees

A new version of the multiplayer browser Battle.Net will debut with Starcraft II. How will it be superior to the previous version? Well, it'll be able to hit you up for money.

During a BlizzCon 08 panel discussion, Diablo 3 director Jay Wilson said, "We are looking to monetize Battle.Net so that we get to keep making these games and updating features. We kind of have to.” Blizzard wants to avoid putting in a subscription but yes, some as-yet-unknown features will cost money.

Apparently Activision really likes the word "monetize". They've been using it a lot lately, first with Guitar Hero: World Tour, then with Call of Duty: World At War, and now Battle.Net. Guess they've settled on a strategy for their top franchises from here on out.

Quite possible the paid content for Battle.Net is something superfluous, like custom avatars for the browser. If they tried to sell special items or some such, an angry mob with pitchforks would gather. It's also possible Wilson was talking about additional episodes for the game. Whatever it is, be sure to keep your wallet handy.
I think it is important to realise that by monetising it they dont mean subscription(or at least thats the hope). It could mean some sort of micro transaction for really small things that are not core of battle.net.

ori cost lot

i buy xxxxx games at rm 200 and play but i cant even start a game even my comp have been specifically for that game

but i cant even start the game

its worth for pirates so say no more to ori

rm200 ori --- want to play and stuck at install after install terminates m computer got terminates automatically

so thats why i said go to pirates
*
No pirate talk here. Only ori talk. If you want to discuss about pirating games...take it elsewhere...this forum is not for you to go on about how you are going to pirate a game. Read the rules. If you have problems with your game you go to support section(of the games).

1) No warez talks allowed. This includes posting requests on how to get warez versions to work, how to get warez titles, where to get warez titles, screenshots that are obviously from warez titles, asking about problems that are related to the warez version only or any discussion about the warez versions. Euphemisms are NOT allowed as well like "ahem", "*p version" or "pasar malam edition" to disguise what you're doing. These posts will be deleted without prior consent. Anyone who asks why or reposts it will be given warnings. Repeat offenders will be suspended. Do note that discussion on the state of piracy is allowed, but with limits.

Yeah sure the games dont work so ori games are a big rip off. doh.gif Right? Logical? Now if you have problem about a particular game please dont whine about it...you should have at least tried to get some support...they are generally very helpful and most problems can be solved.(PS Check your DVD...i suspect its screwed...you need to update its firmware).

I suggest that you dont try to suggest piracy... Much appreciated if you would not bring this up again please.

Personally i dont think you guys will be getting the other expansions/campaigns anytime soon even after SC2 release. From the sounds of report from Blizzcon...Blizzard haven't even gone into designing the protoss campaign. Heck they aren;t even sure how some things are supposed to work yet.

And remember Blizzard time is almost equal or even greater than Valve time.

Hmmm...actually I have an idea for an article on this very issue...nothing SC2...but this 'situation' which i see happening on this board and other as well...I think it would be a good topic to discuss.

This whole schism between hardcore gamer, gamer, casual gamer, non gamer, etc...
