You should ask for full refund if they cannot commit the delivery date.

I still giving myself a hope to get the TV on Jan 2024, because the TV sell at RM7.7k. Maybe they realized sell too low, and don't want to commit. sad.gif
This TBC, Tak Boleh Commit.

Note that this QN85C review is for ADS panel. Ours is VA panel which in theory should have much higher native contrast

Currently still using intelligent mode haha.

Later will play around.

At 85", watching walkaround tour in YouTube make you think you are there

my s90c will forgot my beam gen2 the next day.
have to power cycle the beam to get the tv detect the eArc connection.

did some research and look like its firmware issue happening after sonos 15.8 update. major annoyance to me.

I'll turn off all the Intelligent settings except for the sound ones. But you do you, as long you enjoy the image

You can refer some basic settings here first

https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q...d-qled/settings

Most important is turn off all Power Saving related settings, and all image related Intelligent settings

Then you can start tweaking your image with either Movie mode or FMM

These are my current settings but you can tweak per your liking

I like FMM even though it's darker.
FMM have less artifacts.

But I think I will try to tweak around to find best HDR setting

After watch few days, it's really inky black like oled

I think a lot people turn away from buying qn85c because RTING say it's ads-ips panel.

Luckily Malaysia got VA panel for qn85c. I bought it after really your post and confirmation from Samsung sales person

Yes blooming is really minimal unless you purposely look for it, or very bright highlight details over black background

And this is just a mid range miniLED TV

It's a really underrated TV, shame there's no Dolby Vision

Ya, I assume qn85c is qn90b

Each generation they just move one step lower

Also 85" version have 1200 zone means it's actually better than 500 zone in flagship 65" qn95b except no reflection coating

By the way, my protective sheet is still not peeled off haha

The main protective sheet you should peel off for full image quality

The rest you can keep but i just end up peeling all haha. Looks more premium

I wonder. BTW, there's 720 zones in both 65 inch qn95b and qn85c.

However zones don't represent brightness. 95b is close to 2000nits. How bright can 85c goes?

Zone determine if got blooming
More zone, less blooming

Here is the spec for 85" QN85C given by Samsung Sales Malaysia

The 85" QN85C have 1210 dimming zones and 1100 nits peak brightness.

around 1100 nits, which is good enough for most HDR content today which are mastered to 1000 nits max

Also according to Rtings its able to hit the peak figure more comfortably compared to QN90C

QUOTE
The QN90C gets much brighter than the QN85C in both SDR and HDR, but in practice, this isn't always noticeable, as most content just isn't mastered to take advantage of such high brightness levels. The QN90C's Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL) also more aggressively dims the scene when it gets extremely bright, to a point where the two TVs are equally as bright in the brightest of scenes.

On paper, that seems to be the case

But actually the algorithm plays a big role as well

Like for example Sony's X95L, despite having fewer zones than QN95C, its still able to control blooming pretty well
