14k is really not a bad price for QD OLED. Lucky those who can get it during the pre order period now....

QUOTE(senscents @ Dec 4 2022, 04:50 PM) Newly Display S95B. if you can afford it.... go for S95B, QD-OLED is superior in many ways comapred to traditional WRGB OLEDHas anyone pre-order? This new Samsung tech or Sony A90J worth for watching movie? and its the only option available for us now since Sony Msia seems to have no plans to release A95K here... S95C initial details
https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subac...l&id=1672807336 https://www.tomsguide.com/reviews/samsung-s95c-oled-hands-on this was not the S95C but a focus on the panel itself This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jan 4 2023, 02:14 PM |

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Jan 10 2023, 09:49 PM) I think the answer is quite simple. Dark scene, WRGB surely dead compared to QD. Now just need to compare brighter scene. I'm actually quite surprised when I see how the brightness test was done. If the white in WRGB is turned off, LG is dead. biggest drawback to Samsung TV is no Dolby Vision support despite the flagship pricetag![]() Came with Q600B soundbar. So tempting... and Tizen UX/UI leaves a lot to be desired even compared to LG's webOS This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jan 11 2023, 06:29 PM |

2023 S90C QD-OLED could hit much higher peak brightness (more than 1000 nits) compared to LG C3 and Sony A80L
this could very well be the best price to performance ratio OLED TV for 2023 only gripes (personally from me), would be Samsung's quality control and Tizen OS. Also some testing seems to show that QD-OLED is more prone to burn in compared to LG's more mature WOLED the newer QD-OLED panel from Samsung should solve this but for now it seems reserved for the flagship S95C, or until surplus old panels from last year runs out for S90C This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Apr 25 2023, 12:42 AM |

QUOTE(LionMY @ Jul 6 2023, 05:43 PM) May be someone asked before. What do you see when you put a REMUX movie or streaming material with Dolby Vision on to Sammy QN95C or Sammy OLED. See green (no support) or HDR/HDR10 like.... HDR10+ like.... SDR like.... Shit like.... Reason I am asking because no Dolby Vision capable to Sammy TV is holding me back from purchasing the TV . Vincent teoh finally reviews the S95B.
and found out that the 4x HDMI 2.1 ports are limited to 40gbps instead of the typical 48gbps... which is due to the One Connect Box and this affects the QN95B from last year as well just a small thing and it only affects gamers that requires the full bandwidth (144 hz PC gaming), but still quite a shame that a flagship tv is limited in such a way also motion handling seems worse than G3... After several research, surveys, and dilemma.... finally made my decision and purchased 65" QN85C today.... for 7.5k from One Living, with wall mount installation included
I was keen on getting QN95B actually, and was offered 7.1k for it. They only have 4 units left (throughout all branches in KL / Selangor).... but all are display unit and I just cant stomach the risk Asked about X90L as well and was offered 7.7k.... now thinking back I should've bought it for 7.5k last month on Sony website and claim the RM700 TNG This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Aug 3 2023, 03:51 PM |

QUOTE(Kahlamx @ Aug 3 2023, 05:47 PM) Tbh I am not sure. There are many claims online that says only US models are getting ADS panels.... the rest of the world should be VAhttps://www.avsforum.com/threads/samsung-20...4#post-62500743 If only Samsung doesnt play this panel game or we have a way to check from the service menu The ADS panel (US model) have a pretty good review btw. Assuming all the processing is the same, the only difference of VA panel models should be better contrast and slightly worse viewing angles https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/qn85c-qn85cd-qled This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Aug 3 2023, 08:12 PM Kahlamx liked this post

A quick review / feedback of my 65" QN85C after I've been using it for a week. Decided to do this since the model is the only Neo QLED miniled model to have 65 inch and above unless u decide to go for QN95C. (QN90C only have 43 and 50"). U can skip to bottom if TLDR
Some context, this is my first TV purchase for my new house. Never had any ownership experience with any brands or models before, but did a lot of study and research online and based on that Samsung was not my first choice initially (no Dolby Vision, Tizen OS etc). I've always been a fan of Sony and naturally wanted their TV as well based on mostly good feedback and reviews. So how did I end up with Samsung? Initially I set my eyes on OLED (LG or Sony), but after careful consideration regarding budget and taking into account my usage, I decided to skip OLED and go for miniLED instead. However when it comes to miniLED the choice is very limited in our market. Long story short I decided the QN85C would be the best compromise when it comes to image quality and features for my budget (wanted QN95B but couldnt find one for my budget range) Summary of pros and cons. Usage is mostly youtube and netflix Pros - Very slim and nice design, especially if you are wall mounting - Almost complete feature set for a mid-high end TV including 4x 48gbps HDMI 2.1 (no other brands except LG provide this) - Overall image quality is very good after playing around with the settings. It also gets bright enough during HDR scenes (~1200 nits). There's also very minimal blooming during dark scenes when I set local dimming to High (there's low and standard setting). 720 dimming zones + miniLED really helps. I can probably say there is almost no blooming (OLED like) unless i go and look for it. I use local dimming high for HDR content and local dimming standard for SDR. - The sound quality from the TV speakers is OK, I would say above average after changing some settings. Definitely good enough for most users. One advantage for Samsung TVs is you get Q Symphony when u pair the TV with one of their good soundbars like Q990B/C which I plan to do in the near future. Cons - The Tizen OS. Its not as bad as I would expect actually. Like most complaints are regarding the usability, but I got used to it very fast and the 2023 version have a few improvements like the quick settings menu. Still once a while I get some lag or stuttering while navigating the menu and settings, also the available apps are not as much as Google TV for sure. The biggest issue was on the first day where my wifi would disconnect randomly and refuse to connect back eventhough my wifi is fine, only after i reset the network settings then it would work, but it would still disconnect after a few hours or next day. Googled and found out that its a common Samsung TV issued. Did a fix and now its no longer disconnecting so all good there, but I imagine this would put a lot of people off who just got their new TV. - No Dolby Vision. I just included this here because it is what it is. But to be honest for me.... I dont think it matters nor you can tell the difference unless you are very used to Dolby Vision content until you can tell the difference or you have another similar range TV for comparison side by side. The image quality itself even without Dolby Vision already looks very good in HDR. Maybe its not accurate but who cares unless you do, then you are probably better off with Sony - Content upscaling, motion handling may not be as good as Sony. Again I dont have a Sony to compare or owned a Sony before to know, but some 1080p or 720p videos from Youtube look exactly the same (as in you can tell its lower resolution). I'm not sure how well Sony does in this regard. - Reflection handling is quite bad. This is probably the biggest con for me. My TV is near the sliding door to the balcony, and during day time the reflection is pretty bad especially during dark scenes. Fortunately for HDR it gets bright enough to overcome the reflection but you still can see reflections during dark scenes. If u plan to get this TV, make sure its not near any window or door openings for optimal viewing. ![]() ![]() ![]() Conclusion I am very satisfied with the TV for the price (got it for 7.5k including wall bracket and installation). There's no better choice for miniLED in this price tbh unless u can find a new QN95B or go for Sony X90L/X90K but those are not miniLED. My heart is still with Sony though This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Aug 15 2023, 08:29 PM |

QUOTE(Amr2315 @ Aug 16 2023, 06:14 PM) Thanks Sir for the review, after read your review I think I will go for Samsung Mini LED. Maybe i will going for Samsung QN90C either 43/50 inch for my small room. My purpose 100% for playing PS5. QN90C should be good as a gaming tv. I think the reason Samsung Msia only brings in 43 and 50" is to target the gaming segment since it uses a ADS screen At first want to take LG OLED 48 inch but scare for burn in issue in future QUOTE(Kahlamx @ Aug 16 2023, 08:19 PM) Nice review and TV. Will consider it. But I'm not on Apple ecosystem.... maybe will wait for the next Chromecast with Google TVGet the Apple TV 4K 3rd gen, it supports HDR10+ also. Still prefer Dolby Vision (dynamic metadata) or in your case HDR10+ instead of standard HDR10, where it will just throw a highest and lowest luminance level and apply it to the entire movie. QUOTE(NickedAsy @ Aug 20 2023, 07:48 PM) Maybe can consider A95L if you can afford it. A bit surprised Sony Msia decided to bring this model in. S95C is ok but the overall software experience and image processing wont be as refined as the Sony based on user feedback on other forums |

QUOTE(NickedAsy @ Aug 21 2023, 09:53 AM) The harvey dude I was liaising with also recommended me to wait for the new A95L series to come in because of the XR Proc and DV, however I'm just worried about the Sony timer urban legend stuff. Sony timer urban legend stuff?Of course the price for that model is much more expensive too. Since u are getting QD OLED i assume you are aiming for the best image quality, might as well go all out for the best |
