QUOTE(abubin @ Sep 9 2020, 10:35 AM) Two questions: 1) anyone using bosch premium x7? Is it good considering the price to be quite affordable. 2) The retail price is like 200+ for this oil. However, online official Bosch is selling at RM99 (currently under 9.9 discount). But found this seller at RM66.20 only!! That is so much cheaper. Could it be fake? I mean Bosch oil is considered new player in the market and not even popular. What are the chances of it being fake? I've been eyeing on this synthetic oil too. Looks like the seller only sells everything from Bosch. Seems legit to me. Although there's some user feedback saying that the manufactured date was back in 2018, now the oil they sell is 2 years old already. Google says that engine oil in container should last a long time, some say 5 years max given optimal storing condition.

QUOTE(jamespaul @ Nov 13 2020, 07:38 AM) Fake oils are everywhere. When you buy a football jersey on Lazada or Shoppee, do you expect it is genuine or fake when the pricing is so good? When you buy a phone case on Lazada or Shopee, do you expect it is genuine or fake? If you want fake oils, or should I say triple A oils, buy online. Even retail physical spare part shop (unknowingly?) sells fake oil. I'd rather buy cheaper fake oil online than buy full priced fake oil from the store.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Dec 11 2020, 07:09 AM) Just buy from store like Tesco/Giant/Jusco for genuine eo Dynolube from Tesco ok or not? Did a bit of digging on their API certification, can't seem to find any product named Dynolube. However, surprisingly I found a number of other no name engine oil brand from Malaysia such as BOLD and Mizu on the site. And if youtube automotive channels are to be trusted, I think all engine oil is more or less the same, cheap does not mean bad - for example they compare Amazon basic oil with other named brand, cheap Amazon oil works fine. Just as long as you get the recommended viscosity right for the engine.

QUOTE(clockpulses @ Dec 14 2020, 12:21 AM) I want to buy Syntium 3000 5w30 got 1 seller in Lazada selling it with petronas hologram. This one Syntium 3000 SE. But i checked mymesra website no Syntium 3000 SE. Only Syntium 3000. What's the difference? https://www.pli-petronas.com/en/motoring/ca...ne-oil/productslooks like they got a bunch of other Syntium 3000 variants, each slightly different. From the spec sheet, I can tell that SE is API SN certified compared to Syntium 3000 LL. For Syntium FR they added Ford and Renault approval. QUOTE(clockpulses @ Dec 14 2020, 12:26 AM) BTW can anybody recommend where to buy ORIGINAL Syntium 3000 online? Lazada or shopee Petronas got official shop on shopee mall. Just get them there if you worry about getting scammed buying fake oil. Price seems to be okay.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 23 2020, 10:08 PM) yes and i do recommend getting from that Shopee store as well as a friend is getting from that store and may very well have a UOA sample too soon! *fingers crossed* and i hope my above post helps you in some understanding as you've been actively seeking answers as of late Tq. Just recently learn about car maintenance and engine oil especially. I've found that how any kind of engine oil can be sold with lack of specification is disturbing. Users only have marketing words to rely on to make decisions. And today I just learned that most workshop don't give a hoot about the kind of engine oil they pour inside your car.
