I saw some youtube comments on starting the Persona/Iriz, according to the video uploader (may be some SA), he said better press the start button 2 times before pressing the brake pedal and start the car. Basically, he's asking to enter full accessory mode before starting the car. His reason is to jaga the electronics. Is this true?
*
I practice this since getting the car. Switch to acc listen to the radio make noise until sound stop then start the car.

Well thenpart that tore was high up if u sit in the seat. Middle back. So couldn't be because of user. Being a 2015 exec. They said no stock for my type of cloth seat. So i just accepted the half leather seat so i dont have to sit with metal poking my back.
*
Why not change both so ur car will look more balanced?

1) I used PS3 and PS4 for my previous cars.
2) I already know PS3 capabilities, that's why out showroom, straight change to PS3.
3) My stock tyre still have value, so why not trade in  biggrin.gif

I love PS3 handling and wet grip. Silent than stock tyre of course...

Hmm so need to top up 800+ for new tyres.. thanks for the info
*
PS3 is performance tyres. If u dont drive with fast cornering and such, good eco tyres will be better for u.

QUOTE(jVIPERs2 @ Oct 31 2019, 06:32 AM)
I complained this to Silverstone.
They sent 2 of their personnel to come have a look then warranty the tyre. Got 90% discount on my replacement. 🤭
This was within the 3 year warranty right?
*
Give me 90% discount for silverstone also I dont want. lol.gif

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Oct 31 2019, 11:59 AM)
Many complain PS3 very fast botak because of softer compound, is that true?

I'm really itching to get Michelin tyre now.
*
I've been using PS3 since December 2017. Still ok with mix normal and spirited driving

It should be a bit better since you got your car from them.
Just a word of caution...always be a smart consumer!
*
Mine also. I told them to put the balance oil back in my car. They said no balance oil. Over filled till past max. When I rev to high, the oil was spraying all over in my engine bay. First time trying Regal PJ.

QUOTE(Helldiver @ Nov 18 2019, 03:23 PM)

yeah, its on "P" now. I try to move to others but failed. I tried pressed the brake and without...
if you have try start without press the brake, the screen would shows some messages... but not this time
Screen still show the same screen...
*
Sounds like possible brake switch issue. Earlier gen Iriz had this problem but should have been resolved long ago.

Then they’ll tell you your engine leaking and need to change gasket.

You just lost RM100 extra on your next service...
*
Yes. Thats what they told me. I refused changing gasket. Only thing is changed the oil cap, get them to clean the engine bay and drain excess oil. I think all is fine after that. Havent checked my engine yet.

wow and so far theres no major problems with the car? that makes me thinking of surveying for 2nd hand car instead of buying new but im no car person. How to know whether the seller/car is reliable or not. Lots of good price online for the car but yeah advertisement vs actual condition can be deceiving.
*
Buying 2nd hand car, check youtube for chrisfix's guide to buying 2nd hand car. Theres a good 3 part video explaining what to look for.

Choice of new or 2nd hand depends on which gen, looks/styling and what new features it has. Eg: 1st gen has projector headlights, newest one has voice command.

QUOTE(wenyiwenyi @ Dec 2 2019, 10:45 PM)
My iriz 1.6 has fuel consumption of RM0.21/km which i think are quite high for such small car?

After a week I found out :
- initial pick up is actually slower than myvi 1.5 maybe because of the car is heavier
- suspension and comfort in the car is sooo good, personally think it is better than honda city
- driver side window has squeaky sound, anybody know why?
*
When engine still new then fc is higher. Squeaky sound send to sc and they will add oil. My drivers side had this issue before. After they oiled it then no problem.

QUOTE(wenyiwenyi @ Dec 3 2019, 05:36 PM)
Oh ya, forgot to mention the sensors are terrible. So slow and not sensitive! Anyone facing that too?
*
for me ok but maybe cuz i reverse slowly.

Going to get a 1.3 iriz soon, can any sifu give guidance?

This is my second car mum going to use as a weekend car, so need any fancy 1.6 spec.

1.3 or 1.6 more fuel consumption? Service cost compared 1.3 and 1.6?

Thanks in advance.
*
fc really depends, 1.6 is more fuel economical if highway drive or getting up to cruising speed. If always jam or heavy on the throttle then fc worst than 1.3.

QUOTE(minizian @ Dec 20 2019, 12:09 AM)
Was looking at carlist for the discontinued 1.6 Manual and also Satria neo 1.6 Manual (non r3 bodykit).

More like wanted to have a manual car to drive around and occasionally rempit here and there.

Not interested in modding, perhaps at most going for better/lighther 15 inch wheel and better tires.

Not sure any members here have drove both and able to give feedback of pros and cons of the following:

What My observation of both car:
-Iriz is newer model for sure.
-Iriz dimension is more compact than satria
-Iriz only front disc equiped while Satria is all round disk.
-Is Iriz supposedly lighter than satria? Knowing Iriz chassis is more rigid due to construction.
-Iriz have more safety standard than satria.
-Most satria on used market were modded in way or so. Not sure really mint unit can be found

Do i miss anything?

Also, I am curious about this:
If under hard driving does satria brake will be more efficient over long run vs iriz front disk rear drum setup? Brake fake.
*
Will recommend Satria since u wanna occasionally rempit. Reason:
1. Lower height.
2. Disc all round.
3. Higher HP/ faster 0-100.
4. More moddable(surely backside will be more itchy in the future).
5. Both also no more warranty and outside shops should be more familiar to satria compared to Iriz.

Just had my 1st long trip with the car last week, no drama what so ever. Great handling, great nvh, engine noise barely audible until you rev it over 3k rpm which is over 110km/h @5th gear.
I was originally worried about climbing Cameron Highland but i was wrong, took it like a champ with 4 peoples on board. Plenty of power on 3rd and 4th gear unless the engine rev is below 2.2k.
1.3L manual.
*
I even did gunung brinchang. Had to drive off road to give way to a 4x4 coming down and he stopped worrying i cant power my way out. That was a very steep slope. Another time was climbing big red strawberry park. I gave a viva in front a distance before i started climbing. Idiot suddenly stopped and there was no room to go around him. I had to almost come to a stop. When he started moving again i was flooring the gas and my rpm is floating at ~500 with the engine vibrating like crazy.

QUOTE(Elf71 @ Dec 29 2019, 10:58 AM)
Oh... another thing is EPS warning sign will come out if you disconnecting your battery, and you need reset your steering as guideline given in Owner's Manual page 74.
*
Haha 1 of the guys who force people to read owners manual. Hi five.

since this pop up in my mind when saw the word accident, if accident, can we go back to proton body n paint, or it would be better to fix at ur own workshop and claim insurance? own workshop definitely wont use back original, so maybe void certain warranty already?
*
My insurance tells me if the car is less than 5 years old, send back to proton better. Once after 5 years send to panel workshop.

QUOTE(es28 @ Jan 31 2020, 11:46 PM)
Not sure if all their safety features really efficient. The axia AV has this so called A.S.A 2.0
It should alert & stop the car to prevent collision..
However, the perodua sales person himself dont have confidence in that.. i purpose drove the axia towards another myvi to make sure their A.S.A works, but not impressed.. the speed not even 15km/h... no warning sound... till the perodua guy got out from the car & walk closely infront..
Also, he is not dare to test it, but keep saying they tested (against cardboard boxes) and it works.... damn i'll be on the road with cars, not cardboards tho...
*
Its marketing. I will say probably same thing as proton's voice command(for non x70). Probably can do some stuff and thats about it. Heard a case before someone wanted to show his friends ASA then end up bang wall because ASA didnt do anything.

Recently the passenger side glove compartment has been rattling quite loudly when the road surface is rough or uneven (which is most of the time actually). Could someone point me to the DIY guide of how to resolve this? It doesn't seem to be listed on the first page.

Thanks.
*
Gotta try and simulate a rattle by shaking the glove box and identifying where is banging then apply some sponge or other padding there.

Stupid question. May be even asked by other people a lot of times already.
Shud we service car based on mileage or date?

According to booklet, 10k mileage only go 2nd service.
But now 6k only, it already prompt me go service.
So mileage or time?
*
Ignore the cars onboard service reminder. Just service based on booklet date/mileage whichever comes first.

Also, I have been getting a lot of near misses lately, what's the best dashcam that won't nuke my wallet should I buy?
*
With a low budget, you can get the 70Mai(cylindrical shaped one) or if budget is better, 70Mai Pro. Else those Mijia dashcam is also ok for a low budget. For SD cards, I recommend AVOIDING SANDISK at all cost. Reason is because SanDisk micro SD's corrupt easily on dashcams and action cams. My xiaomi AC used as my front dashcam from time to time will have that buzz due to corrupted file. My bros 70Mai Pro using SanDisk endurance card also corrupted and cannot format. My samsung class 6's no issue.

I can't believe Iriz actually win a drag race against Myvi.

Told ya Iriz is a better choice.  thumbup.gif
*
Advantages of CVT over AT. It gets to maintain peak torque constantly vs 4AT which experiences huge drop in torque when gears change.
