Hi guys, I just sent my Iriz Active for an oil change to a local Proton SC. Once I was back home, I checked the oil level and it was a couple cm above the max level of the dipstick.
I checked the level when the car was cold as well as according to the procedure, both showed the oil level above max. The procedure in the manual states:
1) Turn the engine oil, wait till up to temp
2) Turn off engine and wait 1 minute
3) Check oil level with dipstick
I noticed that the technician emptied the entire contents of the oil container (4 litres) into the engine. Am I right in thinking that for regular oil changes you aren't supposed to fill the engine up with 4 litres of oil? Does any one have any experience with this?
Thanks in advance.
P.S I opted for the fully synthetic 5W-30 PGO oil for the oil change.
I have experience. Few times I went to a popular service center in PJ and they always overfill the oil. I told them to fill following the dip stick and return the access oil. SC returned the extra oil to me and bullshitted me saying this oil they top up on their own because proton needs 4.x litters of engine oil so the workshop normally top up the extra on their own. I never went back to that service center. Once they did it, I suspected that the access oil caused my top gasket to leak after lots of high revving.

Hey guys I'm new to the forums and just got a new iriz and pretty new to KL too..... so I was hoping i can ask some questions / advice
Car - 2017 Iriz 1.3 cvt Executive
1) I'm looking for a workshop i can go to for servicing etc. in the Bangsar or sri petaling area. (car is no longer under warranty) (honestly i dont mind driving to cheras or nearby areas also for servicing here and there)
2) my current tires are stock Silverstone, from reading this forum i see upgrading is a good move but I'm not sure if i should maintain tire size (195/55/R15) or move to a bigger size cause im tired of potholes and speed bump making me fly (195/65/R15). Is it a big difference?
3) I'm looking into body kits and wrapping the car. Any advice on this? Is it worth it for some protection? Can anyone link me / recommend me somewhere for bodykit work that's not crazy expensive ?

Anyways, thanks in advance for helpful replies

Definitely moving onto better tires soons - thanks for your thoughts on the tire sizing bit too
And thanks for iriz reference!
2. Rid the silverstones for better tyres. Common touring tyres which people get are CC6 or XM2+. Performance tyres can get Flevas, RE004, PS3, TR1 but do ur own research on which tyre may be suitable for u as we dont know how u drive and what you want to achieve with new tyres.
3. Depending on car colour I have came up with design suggestions for my colleague to do wrapping and the outcome was stunning although he didnt completely do what I recommended. Current body kits to me aren't that pleasing. Even those from the infamous bodykit shop has a lot of quality issues but who am I to judge since I dont have money.
Regarding tyre sizing, bigger side walls will absorb slight bumps and road imperfections better but slightly affect the driving dynamics of the car although it will be negligible downside versus the gains.
