But as for the PB Day2Day Visa Electron card, I'm not sure if you can actually go apply via the ATM machine.

Yes. You can.

QUOTE(meanmachine @ Jul 9 2009, 11:49 PM)
I tried to apply the other day, but it wasn't successful.  Probably it was due to the fact that I've already got an account with PB from the VE.
Yes. That's the reason why you couldn't apply for e-banking again over the ATM. You must go into any Public Bank branch and request them to add your savings/current account into your existing PB e-banking account.

No name on card = can't pass through visa verified = can't get through paypal.
Not really. Public Bank recently launched Day2Day VISA debit card has no named printed on the card either and my friend had successfully registered for Verified by VISA via www.publicbank.com.my and another fellow Lowyat user also managed to get his card verified in Paypal. He even successfuly withdrew some money to his Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit card.

ppl's money ..just helping to transfer..
but now i cant sigh..  cry.gif
ooo...hmm,maybe still new...give them some time to improve..

True. Maybank is always slow. Give them some time.

Somehow i have a feeling that if Public Bank did not introduce this Day2Day VISA Debit card, Maybank VISA Debit card will still be not be able to perform online transaction. Go figure whistling.gif

QUOTE(1809 @ Jul 14 2009, 06:32 PM)
this link is only valid for a credit card holder?
because i tried to register it but it failed. it asked for a creditcard acc number and also the name on the card but maybank debit visa doesnt have any name on it.
*
Not sure how if it works any differently compared to Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit card but for Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit card, the cardholder name is not printed on the card either. When you are asked to enter the name printed on the card, you will need to enter the name you registered for the account.

I just called and he told me that they had limited the purchase limit at RM500 at default. So, we need to change the purchase limit at ATM. Purchase limit is different withdrawal limit.
For all Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit Card user, kindly note that the withdrawal limit for Day2Day VISA Debit is RM5000/day while the purchase limit is RM2000/day.

public bank visa electron or Maybank Visa Debit or al rajhi debit card?

Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit, Public Bank VISA Electron and Maybank VISA Debit are all equally good.

Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit and Maybank VISA Debit will be issued to you right away when you open either a savings or checking account with them whereas you will have to wait for a few weeks should you think of getting Public Bank VISA Electron.

maybank is fastest..no annual fee somemore
There are two options now regarding Maybank ATM/VISA Debit Card annual fee. You can choose to have unlimited withdrawals by paying RM8/pa
OR
continue to enjoy the annual fee free Maybank ATM/VISA Debit Card with ONLY 4 free cash withdrawals in any Maybank ATM each month. RM0.50 will be charged for the 5th withdrawal onwards for that particular month. The RM0.50 for the 5th withdrawal onwards in a month will be automatically waived should your account balance is RM5,000 or more before that transaction.

You won't have to worry about it as long as you have no less than RM5000 in your account every time you make the fifth withdrawal and so on in a month rclxms.gif

You can only have one saving account with Maybank. I tried to open another one but they didn't allowed me. But I also read some cases (only a few though) that some customer has more than 1 saving account.
*
HSBC allows one to open multiple savings/checking account. I am however, not sure if this is only available to their Premier customers or all HSBC regular banking customers can also do so.

Today, went to RHB and was informed in 2 weeks time I cannot withdraw cash over the counter if amount less than RM5K. Lost my ATM card months ago so wanted to get new one but they out of stock and instead asked me to get their MC debit card called cash connect.

Within 15 minutes I was issued the debit card with pin number and can immeditely use it. Best of all, I can choose the last four digit numbers I want from the cards available in the branch smile.gif Just checked, they charge RM8 for overseas cash withdrawal which is lower than PBB Electron.
*
Too bad their ATM/Debit Card annual fee is the highest in town. RM15/pa.

not all card can set limit by ourself?
*
Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit retail purchase limit is defaulted at RM2000/day while Citibank VISA Debit is RM5000/day. If i'm not mistaken, Maybank VISA Debit is set at RM500/day but you could change the limit over any Maybank ATM anytime.

I'm not sure if Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit and Citibank VISA Debit daily purchase limit can be changed but for Citibank VISA Debit, one can actually disable the VISA function and it will then only act like regular ATM card.

Now the petrol price drop to RM1.80, they deduct the authorize charge.
It was only RM150 early last year. I used my Standard Chartered e$aver Mastercard everytime i pumped petrol because of the 7% rebate last time rclxms.gif

Please refer to the "Debit Card" thread. Other people had manage to get their Public Bank Day2Day VISA Debit card verified with PayPal. In fact, Public Bank allows this even before Maybank. Before that many were duped by Maybank that their cherry debit card can be verified by PayPal.

I wondering if i try register vbv, it will make me more difficult using debit card to make the payment online since some online shop do not implement the verified by visa..
It won't be a problem as sites that do not need to be verified by VISA will still be able to process your credit card, even you have already registered for Verified by VISA.

I have CIMB and BSN account. I don't want to open anymore bank account

Does this 2 banks offer debit card ? I want to buy things use lelong and ebay

Thank You
*
BSN has VISA Electron since long time ago but it's not popular at all. CIMB has e.Mastercard. Basically it is a prepaid card. The downside of this card is that you cannot view your card transaction via cimbclicks.com.my. No statement will be mail to you either. You will however, still be able to check your card balance via any CIMB Bank ATM.
CIMB Bank e.Mastercard

strange...i just call the bank CS and they reply me that the online shop do not accept debit card but credit card only. But debit card is working just as credit card, diff is one is prepaid, another is postpaid..
*
Last time i did encounter certain shops that do not accept my Public Bank VISA Electron (the yellow color one) and that's a debit card too.

so this cimb e.Mastercard no link to normal saving account ? can transfer money from SA to the card online at cimbclicks or not ??
*
No. CIMB e.Mastercard is not linked to your normal savings account held with CIMB Bank. You can transfer money from your CIMB Bank savings account to the e.Mastercard through CIMB ATMs. If i remember correctly, you however, will not be able to transfer via cimbclicks.com.my. There were advertisements in The Star and The Edge a few weeks back.

so where we can view our statement than ??

they send a paper statement or what ??

i think it would be perfect if it appear in cimbclicks....
No. You have to do the accounting yourself. Record your card balance before you make a purchase. Than go to the ATM to check your balance and record it down. This is the only way so far.
