it should be ok dude..i juz bought it last month..i went to china and used it..suprisingly it works FINE!!..for me it's advantage..always travel oversea and as a student of coz i dont have cc..so ambank nexg allow me to reserve accommodation there.. and if no credit in the card (At least for oversea usage, allow min balance USD50),just ask ur friend to bank in to ur card by using cash deposit(certain branches) or manual cash in.. for me its really convenience.. well, heard few forumers complaining about nexg mastercard..but for me all debit card in malaysia having same problem..just give a chance to nexg..they are improving

anyway,for oversea usage,u must 1st activate and inform ambank where r u going and how long u will be staying..they will activate it.. for paypal verification, make sure ur debit card is ACTIVATED by AMBANK ..call them and ask the status

im using PB visa electron. so far i just paid for petrol. is ok. prefer that card. coz from every dollar u spend, get back i think 0.5% ar. lol...hmm...i think i'll use more than 1.2k

have a Q here. which debit doesn't need annual fees?

as far as i know, its al rajhi. but its not a debit card. its kind of an atm card but has the facilities of Visa electron. so in other words, its a debit card.

Ambank NexG maintenance fee is RM3 per month. Times by 12 months equivalent to RM36 a year. Compare that to other cards with annual fees.

if compared, it seems to me that its more expensive. PB visa only 24bucks a year. but can be waived if u spend more than 1200bucks a year. which im sure i can.haha

wanted to buy that ambank nexg pack coz its a mastercard, something new compare to loads of visa around, but with that maintenance fees... maybe not.

Al rajhi's apparently comes with visa wave...Did u guys notice the wave symbole at the right side of the card?

dude, the debit card doesnt have wave. its only the i-Charge card got wave. haha...thats a credit card. makes a whole lot difference.

the pros bout this is the card doesn't have tht annoying electron word at the bottom of the logo. jus plain mastercard. the cashier doesn't now its debit oso.

hmm...but then yeah....i saw the card. the design kinda nice. but then...need to pay the annual fees wor. rm20 wor. i use PB visa electron, annual fees of rm24 is waived if i used around rm1200 wor. see the difference? coz i know i'll surely use more than rm2k each year. so i no need pay any annual fees at all. but PB is not a like savings account lo, dun gv interest.

but after much consideration, i think PB is still better even if the word electron is there. anyway, aiyah...jz admit its a debit card lo. student ma. wait till work only get credit card lo. haha...anyway, for affin, they gv u interest same like a savings account. but count here and there, still cant justify with the rm20 annual fees.

its the part where those pretend to be smart cashier say their cc machine dun accept visa electron thts annoying. then hafta convince them...slot in 1st...u slot in 1st..can 1.

actually the affin mastercard seems like a good replacement for my nexg card. its sucking rm3 every month, no 0.5% bonus, no interest.

tht card comes with an attractive travel insurance if i buy my air ticket with it. how far and reliable this insurance goes?

for that, guess u gotta checkout the nearest affin bank. but then, using affin very inconvenient. in my town, jz got 1. their branches are soooooooooooooo limited that some major towns also dun even have a branch when there's a hsbc instead. if got hsbc, means that town is very ~considered BIG~. hahaha...if u travel often, maybe the affin card is good. but if for those who just using day to day expenditure, guess the PB visa electron is better gua. haha...

btw, anyone ever tried b4 that the cashier say visa electron cant swipe? that cashier mz be dumb if that fella ever say that. just call the manager . case solved. hahaha
