Well if that truly happens, then I guess Unifi TV should bring back Zee TV Networks as well (Zee TV, Zee Cinema, Zee Tamil). Also can include one new channel on its platform: Zee Thirai, a newly Tamil movie channel.

Both also Singapore feed, or the one in Starhub TV is India feed?

On both platforms, it's SIN feed .... Sometimes, a Ch is SD on one while HD in the other as 1 Telco may no have the resources to upgrade to HD yet .... The encoders cost money .... So they prioritize which chs to upgrade first.

Surprisingly, KTV HD n Sun Music (SD) was launched on Singtel TV today ..... KTV HD is still not on Starhub yet, lol

A rushed launch though, as the EPG only says Movie

Looks like the KTV is India feed to me.
Just curious, because they (pay TV) just let it show India-based ads, generally Singaporean Indians don't complain about that, right?

Any major differences in KTV and Sun TV in terms of programming?

No complaints so far ...... Dun think they mind the ads ..... Can't tell since there are no English Subts .... I dun understand Tamil not Hindi .... I took the pack more for the Hindi movies of STAR GOLD and Sony MAX, both with English Subts as both are Middle East feed

Since Bintang and Pelangi is being ceased, Astro Aura and Astro Rania appears to be its replacement (and it is ad-supported too), very likely that it's meant for Indo Pek.
To the Malay viewers out there, would this convinces you to subscribe to Indo Pek?

For the commercial-free time belt for TVB Jade, it's only applicable to its news programme only.
The usual daily premiere TV series on 8.30pm and 9.30pm still has commercial as usual, and its advertising rates are the same as Astro AOD.

Jaya TV, Raj TV, Kalaignar TV is saying good bye on 31 May. This is making Chakravarthy package to be redundant to some extent, since Star Vijay is the only SD channel left on that package.


Or they still want to 'stand strong' by including Zee Tamil HD into Chakravarthy pack?
Even so, that'll be 3 HD channels (with 1 simulcast SD channel Star Vijay) in one package that costs RM13.

I do hope Zee Tamil would be part of Maharaja pack, and move Star Vijay and Colors Tamil into Maharaja pack, therefore ceasing Chakravarthy pack for good. Cuz seriously, ceasing 3 Tamil channels on the same date would very likely to cause another wave of 'PR disaster', claiming that Astro is not being loyal to the Indian viewers.
Sometimes I wonder, Astro willing to include Dynasty pack into Wah Pack (RM80/month) since April 2020, where Dynasty pack is used to be one of Astro's expensive package, and now they make it affordable till it makes it no much point of subscribing Super Pack 3/Super Pack Plus 3 if you just watch Chinese-language channels.
Why not they do the same/similar to Indian channels? In fact, I think Indian packages on Astro is quite not worth subscribing.
Indian content more expensive than Chinese content, or the other way round? Or how? After all, most of the content in it are imported from other country instead of locally produced.

Anyhow, this 2 Tamil channels is here to somehow 'compensate' the loss of the 3 Tamil channels:


Astro Vaanavil is finally upgrading to HD quality.
So does that means, legacy Astro box users will lose access to Astro Vaanavil?
Very likely yes, just like how Chinese viewers lose access to Astro AOD SD catch up channels many many years ago, and forced to upgrade to HD box.


And damn, Zee Tamil HD will be available for advertisers to annoy you.. Hahahahhahaa...

Well at least I’m glad to hear Astro Vaanavil got HD finally.

Yep.. Effectively 1 June 2020...
Since Vaanavil is going HD, that might also means that some existing HD programmes on Vinmeen HD might shift over to Vaanavil HD (Similar like how Quan Jia HD programming shift over to AEC HD many years ago).
And perhaps viewers can expect a more new/different Tamil shows on Vinmeen HD thereafter? We shall see

How about the loss of Jaya TV, Kalaignar, and Raj TV? It is going to cease on 31 May 2020. Any opinion about that?

Those CS agents wouldn't know those updates, because they only say/do whatever memo is given by the relevant persons in the department or so.
And advertisers get first hand information, yet I don't see CS agents get first hand information also.
They'll wait until some customer ask them, then it's like "how come customer know better than me?", then only go and find out more by asking relevant persons.

Some even like "I don't know/never heard of it, but act like I know, to show that I'm professional and I don't wanna lose my job" kind of attitude.

Yeah, do ask your Indian friends about it, see what they say...

Well I'm not sure if those 2 channels will be part of Indo Pek or not, cuz it didn't mention it very clearly. But I guess it's likely yes.

Why bother to spend money to subscribe to Indo Pek? Reason is simple:
Astro want its customers to willing to spend more on them, so that ARPU, profit/revenue would increase, and all about money money stuff will increase.
You know lah, Astro love to deal with rich people. It's called business.

Short news aside, by next month there's:

6 more HD channels (include ch.100 & 700 temporary)
5 less SD channels.
