I browse the content library on HBO Go before, and doesn't really offer as much diverse of shows as Netflix.
Plus with that kind of price, I think I'll rather subscribe to Netflix instead

So seems to me that they're 'restructuring' its Bahasa Indonesia's offering on Astro.

What I know is,
Bintang usually air those Indonesian series (sinetron), and some TV shows etc
Pelangi used to air only Indonesian movies, but nowadays with some Indonesian TV shows too.

Meanwhile...

Astro Rania is like, similar role like Bintang but rojak with many kinds of Indonesian shows, from variety, drama, shows, maybe movie I dunno...

Astro Aura focuses on Indonesian Dangdut music targeting youths, which is something new on Astro? (Btw for those who dunno what Dangut music is, read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dangdut )
Seems like Astro Aura channel will be a Malay-Indo music channel to me.

I thought Malay youngsters listen to KPOP, JPOP and American music, not dangdut.

actually it's would be like MTV / Channel V like that.. Music channel... something new for Malaysia Market..
previously we have English version Hitz TV.. but that gone like that...

oh hopefully censorship won't be problems... The shake2 is kinda.... well "sensitive" to some parties...

Yeaa that's what I think as well... Maybe some of young Malay listeners out there are interested in dangdut?
Maybe Astro sees that dangdut is an 'untapped market' among Malaysia, so they wanna give it a try?
Or they simply just running out of fresh ideas on what new content/channel to offer to the Malay viewers

Anyhow, let's see how it goes lah, from 23rd May.

For those who felt uncomfortable watching those shake shake one,
use Parental Controls to lock the channel with a 4-digits PIN, so that kids won't see those shake shake stuff. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Don't expect Astro to censor everything for you... You pay money for the censorshipman to censor stuff for you ke? Apa logik

Some even want government to censor NETFLIX.

Between Vanavil and Vinmeen one can go,both have no contents they are repeating the same and just changing time slots! As for Jaya,Raj and Kalaingar all these 3 channels lack good content. Suntv VJtv and Zeetv can deliver excellent content alraedy. Pity sun music is not HD,if only it goes HD then I think these channels are great and enough to deliver the best for tamil viewers

Maybe Astro Rania HD is the successor of Pelangi (Channel 142) due to broadcast more program from NET Indonesia.

Actually Jaya TV in India is good... but in astro all the show is repeated only...

Btw, Astro Vaanavil will be available only in HD? Or have SD channel?

I've been seeing that quite many Indian viewers complain to Astro that its Tamil movies are kept on repeating, and keep airing older movies on certain Astro in-house Tamil channels (i.e. Vellithirai, Thangathirai).
How true is it? All along is like that, or recently especially since MCO started, the repeats are becoming more often?
For India's TV series, that one it's somewhat understandable due to India's lockdown and their production stopped for now, but.... movies?

Are you saying that Jaya TV on Astro is Malaysia feed (or Asia feed)? And its programming is kept on repeating? How about Raj TV and Kalaignar TV?

Astro Vaanavil will become a HD-only channel from 1 June 2020.

As you can see, it shows only "(HD)", and doesn't have (SD) and (HD) indicator on the channel number list.

Why? Didn't subscribe to HD? Don't worry just yet....

I subscribed for HD. I just curious for njoi. So it mean njoi can watch vaanavil in HD?

Jaya TV in astro is Malaysian Feed. But Jaya TV sometime offer some new movie.

For Raj TV it always shows hindi serial that has been dubbed in tamil and also old movie. Kalaignar offer movie but that are not updated and news show... so both Raj Tv and Kalaignar is kinda boring...

For thangathirai, a month only shown 4 movies and all the movies wil be shown again in Vinmeen HD and Vellithirai after 2 months... so sometime I doesnt feel worth it to subscribe for Thangathirai. But Thangthirai has been included in my Value Pack 2

Seems the 3 Indian channels won't have huge impact..
Because according to friend.. their content is just meh.. nothing to be proud about... Only good is the news segment... And some songs.. but that also have others alternative...

Basically it's wasting bandwidth only...
The main channels for people viewing are Sun TV, Vijay, Colour Tamil & Sun Music. Then it's Vinmeen HD for some local content... ABO Thangatarai is optional.. have also okay. Don't have also okay.. since the movies would be recycle into Vinmeen HD later on.. Astro First movie too... Matter of time before it get dumped into those in house channels....

What about Chinese people? How much they watch WLT before that when it is replaced it does it affect their viewing?
Can you list Chinese channels on Astro and the general opinion of Chinese regarding those channels?
