It seems Astro have failed to request more extension from the content provider to give free channel viewing during this time.
Well cannot blame them, Astro is only the content distributor, all content is still managed by the content provider itself.

We have news media reporting it differently on the title, guessing that sports pack customers aren't getting super pack plus 4 anymore...

Starting 1 May 2020 12.01am, complimentary viewing for these 5 SD/HD channels to all Astro customers will END:
411 - HBO
412 - Cinemax
413 - Fox Movies
414 - Fox Family Movies
415 - Fox Action Movies

Yes, it means "no more free".
Subscribe to Movies pack to continue watching these channels, or you can still enjoy movie channels other than the 5 channels listed above.

In exchange, all channels in Learning Pack (CH 551-556) are opened to all Astro customers until at least 12 May 2020.

Although CH700 Stay Home Concert is not a subscription-required channel, but it is shown there so that to "remind" when is the Stay Home Concert channel starts and ends.

Meaning Assthrow didn't fork out any cents to provide free channels to the subscribers.
Its suppliers gave foc then pass the foc to the customers.

It's just another day in business... laugh.gif
For them it's like, "so what if our content providers/distributor gives us concert's broadcast rights, either for free or lower cost or normal price?
Most importantly, our paying customers (Astro customers, not Njoi) are happy to enjoy some past concerts for free during this MCO. tongue.gif "

Customers get to enjoy some quite recent concerts, as well as some old classics, that means more customers are happy and satisfied with their offerings, as well as "lesser customer complains". biggrin.gif
I wouldn't know "how less" it is, but I think this could put some "cushion" over the impact...
Just saying.....

Call 03-95433838 (9am-6pm only), tell them to cancel as many packages as you can.
A one-time RM10.60 switching fee will be charged for that, and any package removal will take effect on your next bill, so it's not immediate effect and no prorated charges.

You can always subscribe to the packages again anytime you want on CH200. That's the most you can do.
Otherwise, payment are as going on usual. No discounts or rebates, or whatsoever. sad.gif
There's no working staffs at Astro's "Account Suspension Department Unit", so customers can't suspend/terminate or activate new Astro STBs and accounts until MCO is lifted.
I would advise those who experience financial difficulties to cancel as many packages as they can.

You may start from Astro's Starter pack of RM65/month, which includes HD service and 1 package of your choice as shown below:
user posted image
And of course you can add other packages you want, like those Movies, Sports pack or whatsoever on top of this RM65/month.

Erm, don't come and PM me ah.. I'm not Astro sales person.
This Starter Pack option is not available to subscribe via CH 200, so if you interested to know more, you may contact those Astro sales agents (usually they leave their contact number) or customer service at 03-95433838.

Kesian... Since many brands out there are struggling financially, they might not consider much of advertising their brands on TV platform like Astro, despite how much you convince the advertisers on all the advantages in advertising their brands on Astro now, since many Malaysians spend more time at home nowadays.

So Astro's advertising team came out with their own's "stimulus package" to the advertisers, by giving out free ad credits. unsure.gif
user posted image

Hmm, so that means, Astro's "stimulus package" to existing monthly paying customers like us, is to not allow customers to suspend/terminate account until MCO is over, but customers can downgrade their package as usual.
Yeah, that can put some "cushion over the impact" and "flatten their own curve" in terms of financial income/profit.

And providing complimentary viewing on channels, and Stay Home Concert channel at the same time? Hmm...
In my opinion, it looks evil, but not bad ah the idea... hmm.gif hmm.gif

I thought the govt allows those operate under MCO to go for full capacity now. Why Assthrow don't fully operate?
