That is why I said, Malaysian DH is limited overall.
Why they cannot launch the SG version in MY?
It is way better than this ID version.
Limited contents in 4K and devices support
*
Hmm.. I'm not too sure if this is Disney Hotstar issue or it is LG WebOS Apps issue.
Because if other device is able to stream 4K but only LG apps does not support... then looks to me if more of an App issue hmm.gif

It appears to be correct, for now. Up to Full HD only...
*
Yup... that is the reason why I think it is more of an App issue rather than Disney+Hotstar issue.
Because by default, for LG and Samsung TV user, the correspondng apps is not updated for our local region, instead, we are tapping India App to access the service. thus some mismatches are borne to happened.

I believe that if the App is updated by LG and Samsung (with the help of Disney+Hotstar) for Malaysia, then full support like 4K HDR and etc... will appears.

I believe that’s the responsibility of Disney+hotstar who develops the app instead of LG and Samsung?

https://in.lgappstv.com/main/tvapp/detail?a...de=&sellrUsrNo=
*
Nope.... actually is the responsibility of LG, Samsung or other manufacturer that program the APP.
Disney does not have the expertise to program on WebOS or TizenOS or Panasonic VieraConnect. The so-call SMART TV platform
That is the reason why that some apps appears in LG TV but not in Samsung etc. It is all up to the manufacturer to decide which app they want to support or update and also the region.

Of course Disney+hotstar will provide the interface information. It is a bilateral agreement

If Android TV that it is the other way round as Disney will developed the android app and get it on APP store. Whichever TV that conform to android system may support that APP.

Wanna ask, my house currently Astro Multiroom, 2 smart cards. Both also have Movie Pack.. will i be charged rm10 monthly for disney+ instead of rm5 since got 2 movie packs?
*
Only charges one time to the main account. The 2nd decoder just follow the package on the main account and is not counted as separate account.
Each account can connect disney + with 2 devices.
Even if have Multiroom,, can only connect 2 devices only, it does not allow you to connect 4. so the charges also reflected or RM5.30

Sorry for not making it clear. It’s for the live TV, it’s like I wanna go back to the earlier watched channel but I’m not able to do it. It will appear an error or show TV1 (first channel). I will have to manually input the channel no. again.

I was able to do it on the basic box last time.
*
Oh... you will get accustom to it after a while biggrin.gif (artistically) Astro upgrade usually accompanied with tonnes of downgrade.
I also feel very uncomfortable about it after I switch to Ultrabox.... have to manually key in the channel number every time to switch channel. Previously can easy 'back' like a memory function that loop through the few channel usually watch...

Yeah... eventually you will memorized the channel number and switch it....

Actually, I'm facing this same issue with Astro after changing my TV from LG 4K (2017) to Samsung QLED 4K HDR (2021). I found the picture quality for Astro is worst than my previous TV. Already try to change the picture quality, but overall the quality looks grey and a bit dull and not vibrant as LG. Very frustrating. No issue on Netflix, Youtube, or other built-in apps, as they work great. Any advice on how to overcome the greyish and dull issue?
*
Very interesting. picture become greyish. Care to provide more information? For example, take a picture of a content in Astro and maybe another one from Youtube.

Actually NewCOMER has more discount that those that have retain the account for long time... that is why @dannychen advise to log complaint on MCMC.

Same like TM also. If you do not ask for rebate, they just keep quiet. No company is proactive to initiate the conversation when it comes to rebate  laugh.gif

Totally agree...
But on one blue moon.. Astro did provide rebate for Disney+Hotstar.
Haha....

Don't know if this Measat issue is another blue moon? hmm.gif But I think unlikely lah... cause no third party force them to give rebate... unless MCMC do something

Thanks for sharing this kind of knowledge... I just curious why must using satellite to broadcast channel instead of Broadband streaming like HongKong-NOW E, Singapore-Starhub, Taiwan-hamivideo . It is because satellite costing is cheaper?
*
Like what @izwanikhsan mentioned, rural areas are not covered by brandband so it is impossible to do streaming.
Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan have most of its populated area covered with high speed internet, so it is no issue.
Malaysia on the otherhand, we still have many students that need to climb up tree to get signal for their online classes....

Satellite braodcasting is one of the better option to cover large area with mediocre and above video quality

The same reason why Elon Musk is building its starlink.

Haha.... about the "blurred knife". although it doesn't affect me much.... but I don't get it why should sharp edges item should be blurred? They never blurred out guns though although it is weapon...

If they cut out gory bloody scene, I understand... but sharp edges... I really cannot understand... and on some scene, it is just a kitchen scene, housewife using the knife to prepare meal, and that knife also it is blurred.

If you're watching Korean drama/variety and noticed that those items are blurred because the TV stations need to follow the regulations set by Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC).

The Rule 81, Art. 37 of KCSC rules states that:

The following items, which may convey excessive shock, anxiety or disgust to viewers, may not be broadcast. There may be limited exceptions if such depiction is unavoidable in discussing the content; even in such cases, expression of these items must be approached cautiously.

1. Graphic depiction of beheading, strangulation or dismemberment.
2. Direct depiction of the moment of suicide, or depiction that implies the method of suicide
3. Graphic depiction of killing or maiming with firearms, knives or other tools
4. Depiction of mangled corpse or body parts
5. Graphic depiction of killing of an animal
6. Other depictions that are similar to the above
*
Haha... thanks for this info.
Ya, I think the housewife is cutting chicken or fish.... so it fits to item no.5. tongue.gif
Like that also can.... biggrin.gif

So many channels not available... I guess stick to normal Ultra Box seems like a better option?
Yeah, this is the remote I got back in April.

Different individual different needs, I guess.
But the package is for multiroom user, so those unavailable channel can be watch on the other decoder within the same house hold that is connected to satellite dish.
