Just my suggestion.
Maybe the solution is that provide the customer service a sound clip encoded using 40kbps and another one encode with higher bitrate, maybe 64kbps or 96kbps and ask them to listen for the difference? |

QUOTE(brandonkl @ Jul 10 2021, 10:07 PM) Finally received my Plug-and-Play Ultra Box today. From appearanc ethe Plug-and-play Ultra Box is same as the old Ultra Box?I tried to swap the remote control from this new P&P Ultra Box and use it with my existing Dish Ultra Box .. all buttons work except the new "Back", "Fast Forward" and Volume keys don't work on the old Ultra Box. My P&P Ultra Box is connected to a LAN cable direct to router. I am on Time Fibre 1GB. However, the network speed test I get on this P&P Ultra Box is no more than 30 Mbps. ![]() ![]() So if old Ultra Box not able to support Back, Fast Forward while the new one can, means there are things that are different. The software version for both the box is the same? |

QUOTE(asellus @ Jul 20 2021, 08:30 PM) I think Astro will only give multiroom PnP Ultra STB to those who has Ulti/Ultra STB main boxes. Therefore, Astro can check that both main decoder and the multiroom decoder must have the same IP address. If not, the multiroom decoder will be disabled. This is the possible way, but rest assure Astro currently don't check on it as there is too much loop hole and uncertainty. But if Astro gives out PnP Ultrabox multiroom to peple with Astro PVR main decoder, then.... By the way, it is not necessary that the main decoder must be connected to the same network for the second decoder hence different IP address is possible. |

QUOTE(Feliex @ Jul 21 2021, 12:03 PM) [Main decoder("Mac & LAN IP") -----+------- 2nd decoder ("Mac & LAN IP") ] -----connect to router------- = Final Destination (Public IP) Sorry, I don't get it... is it possible thatPublic IP is the same [Main decoder("Mac & LAN IP") -----connect to router (unifi)------- 2nd decoder ("Mac & LAN IP") ] -----connect to router (mobile broadband)------- So in this case the Public IP can be different. There is no restriction saying that both decoder must be connected to same router, same service provider. Feliex liked this post

QUOTE(joshhd @ Jul 23 2021, 02:22 AM) At least Kristal Astro customers has access to TV1 and TV2 in Brunei. Otherwise, they can also use UHF fishbone antenna to receive Malaysian digital terrestrial TV signals, so they can still watch some of the Olympics content over RTM channels including Sukan RTM channel too. Brunei people can get their Olmypic fix from their national broadcaster RTB Aneka, Maybe the viewers demand isn't there, therefore Kristal Astro don't wanna spend much money to have an official broadcaster license for Brunei. Also, Astro Arena channel isn't available in Brunei too. http://www.rtbnews.rtb.gov.bn/Lists/News%2...0AE8D8DEA617660 I guess that's why Kristal Astro do not want to spend this extra money to broadcast what can be readily available for free. |

QUOTE(spicymayo @ Jul 23 2021, 02:05 PM) Basically I am interested in the Astro Ultra P&P box for the 4K content. Up till now, the regular Astro Ultra box was unavailable to IPTV customers who get the internet through Time. You will need to do the maths on your end then. So, for me to get the Ultra P&P without terminating IPTV, I can add it as a 2nd box for Multiroom subscription? Do you need a second decoder? Subscribing as Multiroom will cost additional RM50 per month (it is worth to pay RM50 monthly to watch the limited 4k content?) compare to subscribing netflix Another way if your IPTV contract is up, just change to Astro Ultra and subscribe fiber or topup with braodband (wondering will this saved more) hisham97nsr liked this post

QUOTE(spicymayo @ Jul 23 2021, 04:13 PM) Thanks for the info - I called the IPTV Department and according to the person I spoke to, it is still not possible for them to support the Ultra Plug & Play box (irregardless of whether I'm using as my main decoder or as an additional multi-room box). Sigh, ever since the Astro Broadband partnership with Maxis, it sounds like they really have no interest in supporting those of us who are using Time IPTV Do they mean technical support or for Time IPTV package, multiroom with UltraPlug& Play is not offered as a package. |

QUOTE(Kurosagi @ Jul 30 2021, 06:36 PM) does the ultra box support bluetooth audio if i wish to watch with wireless headphone ? If its not then any alternative ? But generally most SMART TV/ Android TV nowadays is able to pair with Bluetooth speaker, so just pair it to the TV and the audio will pass from your Astro decoder to the TV, then from TV Bluetooth to your headset or Bluetooth speaker. That is how I watch movie during midnight... |

QUOTE(Feliex @ Aug 7 2021, 10:48 AM) I have a problem regarding the “Recording” I found a lot of show that I recording is starting from the middle. Let’s say the show total is 120minutes, but it only record 55min (include end of show). can you guys share how you all use the recording features? ** Astro PDF guide didn’t clear regarding this feature. QUOTE(joshhd @ Aug 7 2021, 11:37 AM) For me I encountered this issue for HGTV channel.Basically I think the problem is that the recording EPG does not match the program EPG, thus the error happened. QUOTE(Feliex @ Aug 7 2021, 12:17 PM) For example: You are on Astro Ultra box?Channel: History Title: Hiroshima & Nagasaki 75 Years Later Time: 120min When I switch into the History channel, the show already run at the 60min, so I choose to record & switch to watch other channel. At night, when I play it from the library, this title recorded is starting from the 60min instead from the beginning. You should just press "Play from Start" |

I told my parents to press the number within range and thenclick the TV button to scroll up and down to their channel. For example. If they wanted to open 316.... I will ask them to punch 300... and then press TV to open up the TV programe then scroll down to 316. For their case entering 300 is easier then to enter 316 joshhd liked this post

QUOTE(joshhd @ Aug 24 2021, 09:22 PM) Mmm, seems like a mistake to me..... Anyway, just ignore that SMS if you aren't interested lol Maybe it is just mass SMS braodcast.... so they do not really check the subscription includes movies package or not currently.Astro has always been desperate, so don't be surprised. But I think if click the link to register, most probably it will not go through. or .... maybe if registered, movie package then suddenly is subscribed.... |
