Hello, how safe is it to restore factory setting on an Ultra box and switch from satellite mode to plug and play? Currently the decoder is in satellite mode but will be moved to a room with no satellite cable. Getting tired of seeing the Continuous Viewing mode message after each channel change.

Restoring your Ultra Box to factory settings and switching from satellite mode to Plug & Play is safe. Your channel entitlements will remain intact.

However, please note that your settings and streaming app logins will be reset in the process.

Yes. You're getting that error because your Ultra Box will always keep trying to receive the channel via satellite reception as you change channels.
That is an expected behaviour.

But yeah, technically speaking, it is safe to perform Restore Factory Settings to change to Plug & Play, so no need to worry about that.
Settings such as preferred audio/subtitle language and HDMI/SPDIF Audio setting will reset to default, however I notice nowadays when I do Restore Factory Settings, all of my logged in streaming apps still remains logged in.
I remember back then, all apps will logged out after you perform Restore Factory Settings...

Maybe they made the improvements since don't know when... sweat.gif

Astro will be phasing out On Demand service on the old B.yond PVR & DMT5 decoders by December 31, 2025.

• Linear channels and PVR recording will still work, but On Demand will no longer be available.
• To continue enjoying On Demand, customers are encouraged to upgrade to the new Astro Ultra Box or Ulti Box.

Astro is running a campaign to help existing PVR decoder users switch:

• If you don’t upgrade, you can still watch your subscribed channels and use PVR, but no more On Demand after 2025.

TL;DR: On Demand service on old Astro B.yond PVR ends Dec 31. Linear channels & PVR still work, but to access On Demand you’ll need to upgrade to Ultra/Ulti Box.

Hi newbie here. I'm planning to get Astro as I want some form of entertainment in home. Bored with OTT no new movies or series
Still it's value for money? I heard new customers only get Ulti box as standard as I have 4K TV in my home
My preference; not a sport person only watch few football games

anyone else suddenly got paper bill for astro? i got it today and got extra charge due paper bill. so i called to ask why the extra charge and i never opt for paper bill since the subscription started

then, i said to cs if not revert back the amount charge and back to paperless bill will report to skmm. i said will sent the entire pdf bill as proof to skmm

the said will change it back and now waiting the confirmation. so anyone else suddenly got paper bill this month?

Nope, as for me myself each month received from whatsapp if there is overdue, or else check thru whatsapp and pay via cimb clicks 🐝

Hi there. doubleM2's answer is the more marketing-oriented version, which is easier to understand. Here's my long answer:

Not true.
For new customers, as long if you subscribe to Astro One: Entertainment Pack (RM49.99), then you will be getting Ulti Box by default.
If you insist in getting Ultra Box, you'll need to pay a one-off installation of RM139 (for Plug & Play) or RM199 (for Satellite).
But do note that the installation/setup fee may be lower or even waived, depending on whatever special campaign they have at the time of you signing up.

But if you subscribe to higher tier packs such as Astro One: Sports Pack (RM99.99), then you'll be getting Ultra Box by default.

Ulti Box supports up to Full HD only, while Ultra Box supports 4K UHD (Ultra HD 2160p) and Dolby Atmos.
Although the hardware specs for Ultra Box is more superior than Ulti Box (which means better UI/UX performance), but the 4K UHD content you'll be getting from Astro is rather limited.

Today, there's only 2 UHD linear channels on Astro, which is Love Nature (CH549) and Astro Sports UHD (CH805).
Astro Sports UHD channel is mostly showing Premier League and certain tennis event matches.

Love Nature channel is available to all Astro customers, but your subscription needs to have Sports to access Astro Sports UHD channel.

As for On Demand content, it is mostly documentaries from Love Nature and a handful of Astro originals shows.
Short answer is, don't expect too much of 4K UHD content from Astro. It is very limited.

If you'd like to experience sports matches in 4K UHD, then go for Astro One: Sports Pack (RM99.99).
On top of that, Astro currently having the campaign where you can get both HBO Max and Disney+ for as low as RM21.60/mth for a 12 months contract.

Nope. I'm already on e-billing since long time ago.

Sounds like it's their system issue.
Did you made any changes to your subscription since the past month or something?
If not, then it's probably some system bugs on their side.

Since you've reported to customer service about this, then just wait for the next billing to come in then.

New tactics from Astro???

Those unsuspecting subscribers now getting printed bills send to registered address....

It's additional rm5 yo each month... If some of you don't realized & keeps paying especially those automatic payment features.....

My Astro One Sports pack is including NBA games when I sign up for 2 years contract, but now I have to pay extra for Prime app to watch NBA? Anyone facing the same problem?
