Hi guys ..need some help...I was having issues with my decoder as it hangs a lot and I have followed trouble shooting steps to reset the decoder as per their manual and advice ..now however I have this issue where every channel I change there is this pink buffering round loading before it switches chanel and image is pixelated awhile before it corrects itself..anyone have similar issues and have managed to resolve this ..?  Any help and advice is much appreciated
*

Previously that pink buffering icon doesn't appear, and then when you perform Restore Factory Settings, the pink buffering icon keeps appearing whenever you change channel, correct?
You selected Plug & Play (self-install), is it?
user posted image
Based on what you described, you should be selecting "Satellite".
When you select Satellite, you won't experience that pink buffering icon and "Picture quality becomes OK after 5 seconds" whenever you tune to a channel.
That scenario is an expected, well known thing for customers who are on Plug & Play. You are experiencing just like what those Plug & Play customers are getting, where some may finds it disturbing or annoying.
If you don't like that, then Plug & Play mode is not for you.

Once you select Satellite, you'll be asked for the LNB Type. Let me know if you need help on that.

Anyone get better Retention Offer than this ? Currently I'm subscribed to old Starter Pack with monthly RM 70. Aimed for their sports pack. Anyone get sports pack as their Retention Offer?
*

Wahhh... "Berbesar hati" somemore 🤣🤣🤣

Unfortunately, retention offers usually offered to customers who intends to remain on their existing old package.

If you're aiming for Astro One: Sports Pack, then normally you'll have to "upgrade" to that exact pack, pay that same price and get 24 months contract just like anyone else, without getting additional rebates.

Well, unless if you manage to "nego" with that agent to see if there's "special exception" that I'm not aware of, then.... Do share with all of us here, I want to know also haha...

Then you're considered their premium customer already.
If you want to get better pricing than that, then the best is through retention offers only. There's no other "promotion" that I known of.
*
even with retention offers, my experience is the offer to maintain status quo (promo) price. Never had additional discount to an already discounted promo price in the first place.

After i received that "great" offer from Astro via WS agent, i asked for a relevant department to contact me to nego further.

After 15 minutes on the phone, they offered me to change to Astro One: Entertainment Pack (which saved me around RM 20 monthly compared to current package) + 6 months free Sports Pack. The best part is all of that without renewing my contract. So after 6 months ended, i can nego further to have the Sports Pack permanently with discounted price or keep my Astro One: Entertainment Pack.

Yes my father sub to Astro but his plan is only the cheapest sport pack package. Besides football there no good channels to watch on this plan. Last tv show I watched from start to finish was game of thrones season 8 and haven’t watched or followed any program till now…

If the Clear NVRAM method also doesn't work ( https://support.astro.com.my/question/refre...-ultra-ulti-box ), then it's probably box faulty...
Wait for them to get back to you then.

If they don't, you can chat with the customer service agent through Astro chatbots.

Oh, so they somehow offered you to switch to Astro One: Entertainment Pack plus 6 months access to Sports channels (I assume is all sports channels from CH805-826).
Interesting "retention offer"... hmm.gif hmm.gif Ok, now I know... biggrin.gif

The best part is all of that without renewing my contract.
Wah, your My Astro really states "No contract"... Damn... blink.gif
So apparently they can somehow "waive" that infamous 24 months contract on a conditional basis.

So after 6 months ended, i can nego further to have the Sports Pack permanently with discounted price or keep my Astro One: Entertainment Pack.
I don't think you can "nego" with them and get another few months free access of Sports channels indefinitely. I'm sure their system will have a record that you enjoyed "similar offer" before.

Mmm, so I guess you can't access to HBO channels like CH411, 412, 414, 415 right? In that case, then HBO Max isn't included in your subscription...

Since you plan to subscribe to HBO Max then cancel it after 1 month, you can get HBO Max on either methods:
1) Directly with HBO Max website, at retail price of RM34.90 / RM52.90
2) Addon through Astro billing at special price of RM33.90 / RM51.90
3) Addon through Unifi billing at much cheaper price of RM24.90 / RM34.90

If you subscribe to Unifi at home, I suggest you use MyUnifi app and subscribe HBO Max there, because that is the cheapest place to get HBO Max in Malaysia (that I know of).

Piece of cake. No penalty fees will be charged.

Plus, when you add HBO Max to your Astro bill, you’ll also enjoy access to HBO channels 411, 412, 414, and 415.

Yes.

For Astro, you can add and remove HBO Max addon at anytime via My Astro app or web https://myastro.astro.com.my/
The good thing of subscribe through Astro is as what doubleM2 mentioned, where you'll also get access to HBO channels on your Astro set-top-box, On Demand and Astro GO via CH411, 412, 414 and CH415.

For Unifi (be it Home, Fibre or Mobile), you can also add and remove HBO Max addon at anytime eithe via MyUnifi app, Unifi UniVerse app, Unifi Selfcare portal https://selfcare.unifi.com.my/ or Unifi TV sales portal https://unifi.com.my/login.

As usual, when you subscribe to the app, charges shall be prorated from the day you subscribe. But when you remove the app, it'll only take effect on the next billing cycle.

Noticed Sun TV Network channels (211,212,213,214) Logos changed to upwards. Previously was downwards.

Like other Astro Channels.

Is this Malaysia (Astro) specific?
