Most importantly, they've solved your issue in a timely manner. Since Astro introduces their HD box (branded as Astro B.yond back in Dec 2009), they use a newer smart card encryption technology/method that has smart card pairing.
I've gotten an email from Astro about the survey... đ€, I wonder what should I put in...... maybe I should deduct some points for entering the wrong info and waste my time

Yeah... And Astro is persuading those advertisers to take this opportunity to annoy the viewers with their ads too. On the image above, you can see the "Pricing Category of A12", that category costs RM17,000 for 30 seconds slot.
Interested to annoy your viewers with your brand? Go contact those advertising persons above.
Wow, it's like Astro is proud of that.... but not everyone has upgraded from HD/HD-PVR box to UHD and not many people have "high-speed internet" to be eligible for the Ultra box, maybe the viewership drops this year as well
and the ads are probably going to be aired in SD/HD quality

Seems like NJOI is also affected? I don't think that this is in the Astro channel list
I think people will be confused already
I think there's a mistake here? "We are reorganising our channel listings by moving the HD channel numbers to higher positions for easier access to the best quality version of the channel."

This mean at least 2 TV feeds for these following channels: Hua Hee Dai, AEC, Wah Lai Toi (to be closed), Prima, Warna and Citra if Astro wants to do regional targetted ads that can be only seen in Northern region and East Coast region. In the UK, ITV sends 18 SD and 11 HD feeds (due to capacity issues not all feeds are available in HD) on satellite for a single channel for regional news service, localised advertising and allowing some variation for regional programming(It isn't too much nowadays if compare to the past since the ITV channels now have the same programming during primetime). Channel 4 sends 6 SD feeds and 1 HD feed (again due to capacity issues) on satellite for advertising proposes even when the programmes are the same for this channel as it is a national channel without program variations.
đ€, this means that Astro is cutting down on their in-house channels( such as Astro WLT) to make up for the cost of having different feed?
I wonder is the feed delivered via which area physically it's located or it uses registered address

Hmm okay. What time you start to see that happens? Besides Hits (ch720), what else (that you still remember of)? I found out that they've done some technical adjustments especially on the video, but I wanna "collect more info" from others first...
Improvement to the bitrate? Or decreasing the bitrate even more?
It appears the video bitrate has slightly increased, but not on all HD channels. Will continue to monitor from time to time.
Astro might be testing it at the moment? Then finalize if they should upgrade all the channel bitrate on 1st April? Or maybe decide to do an April fools joke on that day too
Nope. I use the TS Capture method. Record the transport stream of the entire transponder, then use computer software to analyse the bitrate information.
There's no option for Ultra Box to do that. If you found out ways to do that, do let me know... Hahaha
So means that you've connected the satellite dish to your PC
QUOTE(joshhd @ Mar 13 2020, 12:04 PM)
Good that you know lor... Not everyone is interested to know the bitrate anyway. Cuz when customer complain bad picture quality, for sure they'll say is your satellite dish problem đ
It's not necessarily means they (including the technical engineer persons in Astro) don't understand your question, they just don't want to admit so they pretend like nothing happen, or they just disagree with you statements. Why? Because they know, it will cause PR disaster. đ
I think an average consumer will see it as something like internet speed, lower internet speed = poorer quality
Wah... Not literally "connect satellite dish to PC" la... You'll just need a satellite receiver/equipment that can do TS Capture (or record entire transport stream on that frequency) to an external storage, then you analyse that recorded .ts file on a computer software. And some people may find this to be troublesome... That's the most I can tell you. Can't reveal too much info... Â
Better đ€«, later Astro found out and try to âpartner up with mcmcâ and create news again
Btw do you plan on recording on what happens if you are watching live TV when Astro changes try LCN?
