You take back the Ultra Box.... from where? Astro service centre? And then set it up yourself? Nope you can't.

I guess the installation just need to connect to the existing cables?
Yes, but it is mandatory for them to send an installer to your house to carry out the installation, unless if you opt for Plug & Play upon order sign up.

Why? You want to curi-curi install elsewhere, is it?
In that case, let that Astro installer do his job by installing it at your house as usual. But after the installer leave your house, you want to dismantle and install elsewhere or whatever, it's your choice/risk to take.  sweat.gif

No la just thought that if I could setup by myself then I don't have to allocate time for the installer to come over 😅

Main focus / market of astro is those old folks, rural areas that lack of high speed cable internet....

TBH the only advantage Astro have over unifitv is live sports and vernacular contents esp Malay.

True...
They invest huge some on sports contents.... Pay premium fee for broadcast rights.... Once others players have super deep pocket to over-bid astro on contents rights especially sports... Astro can close shop already 😎

Which is likely never. It's a chicken and egg problem. Even if someone else get the rights, it won't mean users will migrate away to that new service immediatly. So it's a very high risk, low reward move.

Never? Someones being too cocky.

Astro will regret their business decisions if they cant keep their opex costs down. They cant even pay their AWS bills. Lol

In the big scheme of content consumption , live sports is just niche. That’s why they are a loss leader. World cup, epl… they never make their money back yet they cannot be without it.
