bcoz suddenly thinking of my maxtor is dying soon... so i need extra money for a new HDD, then have to cut the budget to get x1950 lo

x1950gt can beat 8600gts in many games, and it absolutely smash the 8600gt to paste.

True. Why not a x1950pro?

X1950 cannot play DX10 games wor.....

the pro version, only palit fits in my budget, but now the stock is hard to find...
other brands would need rm700 for 1950pro with just 256mb of memory, so I think I can OC the GT up to Pro speed, and save rm200 for that...

dx10 game... hmm, i just wait 1 yr later and see how G80/G90 or ATi will be doing, another reason that hold me back from 8800 is how will the 1st gen dx10 card perform in real dx10 game, is still uncertain, so to spend rm1k on that is pretty risky for me

Im just like you, bought a 2nd hand 7900GT for this while, then wait and see how thing goes..

Well, i set all high-settings 0xAA at first, then later tried all ultra-settings 4xAA i still can get "GREAT" status

Weird.. average, esp. since yer rig specs its much better than mine.

As i said earlier, didcha 'disabled vsync' for yer COH?.. bcoz its enabled by default.

isnt in COH, there's only the setting as either turn on AA or turn off it, it doesn't mention which level of AA

Yea, by think of it, previously COH has only on/off AA. So i guess must be the latest patch (v1.70) has "enchanced AA options"

The latest patch adds DX10 content too, if im not wrong.. COH basically the first full game uses DX10!.. altho i dont have Vista.. lol...

So far, i tried TitanQuest, Oblivion, NFS Carbon, SupremeCommander, CompanyOfHeroes, RainbowSixVegas, all that games, i finally i can play it at 1680x1050res smoothly

WTA, lets say i use a third party cooler with a high performance fan that does not support 3/4-pin input, wont the graphics card not startup as it didnt detect any fans?

And abt 3rd-party hsf, its there even a HSF made for 3Dcard doesnt have proper power-cable?..

I'm referring to Thermalright HR-03 Plus that does not come with a fan pre-installed. AFAIK, those high-performance fans does not come with 3-pin plugs because it draws alot of power or smth liddat.

I see... imo it wont be a problem considering theres 3Dcards out there uses 'passive hsf/coolers'.. meaning w/o any fan, it uses heatpipe tech like Gigabyte Silent-Pipe 3Dcards.

The only thing it wont start its not enough power or overheated, if im not wrong

I gotta say from 7600GT to 8800GTS has nearly tripled my 3dmarks/score... sweet...

And MSI 8800GTS OC EDITION owners, did u peeps use MSI D.O.T software?.. which its MSI's own overclocking utility.

my asus get 7885 in 3dmark06.. never oc...
my cpu and ram still bottleneck with my asus 88gts.... others can get 8 - 9k in 3dmark06

Err... dude.. do u even know the benchmark (esp. synthetic benchmark) oso counts on cpu?...

ya...this benchmarking tools really cpu dependant as my last 4200 AMDX2 does score round 8005 only at cpu speed of 2.6G...while my E66 C2D does 8600 at speed 2.4Ghz...after oc...i can go till 9500+ using my BFG..
